Even the Daleks couldn’t overcome the living statues in our poll of over 10,000 Doctor Who fans…
Blink and you could miss them but the Weeping Angels are the best loved (or should that be most feared?) monsters in the Doctor Who universe, according to a RadioTimes.com poll.
Created by current Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat, and first appearing in 2007 episode Blink, the Angels are living statues, unable to move as long as they are being watched. But close your eyes or look away and they’re instantly on the move, stone fangs and claws bared. And if the lights go out…
More than 10,000 fans voted in the RadioTimes.com poll, with nearly half (49.4 per cent) choosing the Angels as their favourite monsters. Classic Who adversaries the Daleks were in second place with 17 per cent of the vote, followed by another Moffat creation, The Silence, in third place with almost 12 per cent.
The Doctor’s fellow Time Lord, The Master, and Moffat’s microscopic swarm The Vashta Nerada, were in fourth and fifth place, respectively, with the Cybermen, Davros, the Zygons, the Ice Warriors and the Sontarans completing the top ten.
RadioTimes.com editor Tim Glanfield commented on the results: “The Daleks had generations of children cowering behind the sofa in the past, but our poll shows Steven Moffat’s terrifying Weeping Angels are the stuff of modern nightmares – remember, don’t blink!.”

3 Reasons Daleks are better then the Weeping Angels
1. Weeping Angels are Quantom-Locked, but Daleks (or Cybermen) don’t blink.
2. If you put a Mirror infront of a Weeping Angel it can’t move as it is being looked at by it’s reflection.
3. Weeping Angels are not a BIG NAME in Who, they have been in only 2 Stories so far. Monsters like Daleks and Cybermen have been with us for YEARS Now and have been in a number of different stories.

June 9th, 2012 - 3:26pmOk fair but to be honest I used to be scared of the daleks when I was 8 but I think because they have been used so much that the daleks have lost their scare abit but I think their great and I reckon as their bringing back the old daleks that’s gonna refresh them abit because even I was getting bored of “one ship survived” or “emergency temporal shift” always bringing them back so I agree with you about saying the weeping angles stories are better thought out

With the angels you can’t defeat them easily as guns don’t kill them, but do with a dalek it you shoot it in the eyestalk, and they only have to touch you to kill you

They were a good villian and very creepy , but not in the top 10.
