I loved the ref to the brig. But this season isn’t
warming. As a fan since 73. I really feel let down. Why single ep’s? tree/four parts allow the story to develope. I feel Mr Moffet isn’t making Dr Who scarey just kiddy friendly. If you watch the hand of fear, peraminds of mars, robots of death, they really creeped you out. There is nothing in the new series that gets close. I still love Who, but wish it would return to the days when mad women wanted the show banned. End all this family/relationship with assistant. Make the stories good with scares. Please return the show to its roots, Robert Holmes, Terrance Dicks, Victor Pemberton. Less gay lovey bosh. It’s my option so please don’t hate mail me. I just want the best for the greatest si-fi show ever.

Really glad Kate turned out to be the brig’s daughter as I’d hoped she would be. Love the unit family!

some nice moments, but the ship explosion was too quick, not that much action, a bit disappointing, but nice ending.

Really enjoyed this episode, it felt familiar. It also set up next weeks departures nicely. So far, im enjoying series 7 more than 5 and 6.

@Craig No tears, Adric was hated. Cheers went up in my house when he crashed into the earth. Plus Earth Shock was one of thed best cyberman story ever. Only falt with this story was Beryl Reid… ..Why?? lol

      September 23rd, 2012 - 9:45pm

@Whovian you need to watch the classic series. Mosters were poor, sets were cheap. but the actting/stories over 4-6 parts were the stuff of dreams/nightmares. I’m 42 yrs old. I got my intrest in tec computers thanks to Doctor Who. If you can, watch, Earthshock, the e-space season, the talons of wing chang. egnour the sets and you will find why this show used to scare children over 4-6 weeks telling one story. Not great start, end fast end in one ep. Who still is fun, but its lost it’s magic, smith is great, but is too much like the 3rd Doctor. All this family/relastionship stuff is only in the new show. we never meet sarah janes family, or cared. joe grant may have had a thing with the Doctor, but thats about it. We meet Tegan’s aunt, but she is killed by the master 10mins into ep 1 of Lagobolis. The new is nice, but not amazing. RTD had good idea’s for Tennant, but SM has belittled them(River Song build up, but rush to end a season ep). Great stories of the past built up over ep’s not rushed in on ep.

It was ok. Nowhere near as good as last week’s masterpiece, but it was still very enjoyable. The ending was, however, very disappointing. The two nurses have become the Boatswain of Series 7. Except this time they didn’t randomly appear at the end. 😉

Next week looks good! There were some interesting hints towards it in this episode. 🙂

Yeah, I thought that it was a bit weird that wall thingy. I’m not to sure what to think about it. Looks like a spacey-wacey-wibbely-wobbly-timey-whimey spider web.

Odd… A interesting premise, a good first half, nice classic throwbacks… But then… The plot is hurriedly resolved on the ship at the end, and the resolution.. Awful…. Still, a nice little story, but not the best this series by far! 6/10

While I thought the episode was good, I don’t think it found its feet, with all the jumping about at the beginning. The climax was rather underwhelming too (sonic screwdriver solves all! – this shouldn’t happen).

Didn’t like that much – the setup was good, but the ending felt tacked on and too ‘easy’. There were also lots of things left unexplained (or it was too fast for me to take them in), like why were the people all being taken to the Shakri ship?

That was without doubt one of the most awful, inconsistent and badly written episodes of I have ever watched. For example, when they got on the ship Rory and his dad were unconscious yet the two “aliens” had suddenly disappeared never to be seen again. Why were they taking people to the ship anyway ? Where did they go and why didn’t they try to stop the Doctor from blowing it up ?

exactly, a great, promising start that seemed more like the classic modern doctor who but then…a rubbish anitclimax ending. The 2 nurses never tried to stop the doctor let alone the main bad guy (his name/race misplaces my mind atm). Plus what was with the girl? she was one of the seven points but the doctor only took her out. A bit lame tbh

if you were listening as you call the main bad guy the doctor said he was not real it was made by the computer as it was an interface
