What Did You Think of The Time of the Doctor?
What Did You Think of The Time of the Doctor?
Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars – and amongst them, the Doctor.
Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.
The astronaut of death
December 26th, 2013 - 7:19pmThey were doing it because the doctor had saved gal lifers and the time lords wanted him to help them to

December 26th, 2013 - 6:56pmI think Moffat is and will become too dependant on Time Lords if you get my drift. Shame he brought them back in the 50th to be honest.

December 26th, 2013 - 6:55pmThe bit that confused me completely was what was the reason the Time Lords granted him a new set of regenerations!?
The Moffat Paradox
December 26th, 2013 - 6:24pmAnonymous.
Two Words re America.
STAR TREK
Around almost as long. Actually a bigger global franchise.
The astronaut of death
December 26th, 2013 - 6:02pmYeah Matt smith was rather like tenant in the eleventh hour he just need time to ajust and find out who he is
Anonymous
December 26th, 2013 - 5:52pmWell, he WAS Matt Smith just a few moments ago.
The TARDIS
December 26th, 2013 - 5:34pmthe council, have you ever seen William Hartnell? He was older and looked evil, and the show was incredibly popular them. Jon Pertwee looked older and severe, but the viewing figures were very high. I may not like Moffat’s show-running, but as far as I am concerned, casting Capaldi was a brilliant move. Innocent until proven guilty and all that…
the council
December 26th, 2013 - 5:14pmI know capaldi looked evel get someone younger in viewings will go down easly
The Moffat Paradox
December 26th, 2013 - 5:02pmOK after a second viewing, skimming through it and probaby watching it properly once again today it’s not as all over the place as it first seemed.
More importantly IT DOES finally answer WHO BLEW THE TARDIS! The Silence after all-or more exactly a breakaway faction causing the very events they were trying to prevent. So that story arc of the Smith era and a KEY test of Stephen Moffat’s credibility has been resolved. What the Silence even are makes more sense now.
These specials are still a case though of the whole being less than the sum of the parts and probably always will be.
P.S. Make more use of the Paradigm Daleks if theirs to be ANY continuing point to them!

The TARDIS
December 26th, 2013 - 5:02pmTerrible first words for Capaldi as well. I feel sorry for him, trying to say them and make them sound genuine. Because they don’t!
UnitedGamers2013
December 26th, 2013 - 5:01pmThe whole kidneys thing was two immature and too Matt smithish for capaldi. Either write capaldi as he deserves or get a new show writer
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 5:00pmYou do realize Mark Gatiss has been writing for Doctor Who since Series 1? I have to say I am glad if that means Neil Cross and Neil Gaiman will be writing more for Doctor Who, but I’d rather not see any more of Stephen Thompson’s writing. I do hope Chris Chibnal and Toby Whithouse from Series 7A will also be writing for it, too.
crazy guy
December 26th, 2013 - 4:58pmi don’t know if anyone’s thought about this and i know this would prob be a long way away as i think capaldi era might be longer than mat’s ‘s as he is a big fan and everything but what happens when he regenerates another 13 times?
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:55pmJJ, it’s all down to opinion. Doctor Who became extremely popular in America during Matt Smith’s run, so you can’t say it’s being run into the ground if it’s become a popular show in a whole other country. Four or five years ago, I didn’t know anyone personally who knew what Doctor Who was, and now I see people who know and love it almost every week. You can say you don’t like it, not everyone has to have the same opinion, but you can’t say it’s been run into the ground when it’s had a worldwide breakthrough.
The TARDIS
December 26th, 2013 - 4:51pmI wouldn’t have minded seeing the same glow but in different colours, like greens or blues. A completely different effect would have been good as well, but the good thing about regeneration effects so far is that you have always seen the transition between the two. However, here, one moment it was Matt and the next it was Capaldi. That effect doesn’t work for me.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:51pmI am annoyed, too. Steven Moffat, you’re a great writer, but nine months?! Really?! We need at LEAST an Easter special!
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:50pmJust look at the Sixth Doctor in Attack of the Cybermen, four episodes after his regeneration, and he still has trouble remembering the name of his companion.
The TARDIS
December 26th, 2013 - 4:49pmI don’t think people are complaining that the orange glow is gone, some might be, but most are saying the quick flash was a bit disappointing.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:48pmIf Steven Moffat leaves, they are NOT going to bring back Russel T Davies. The show has to progress and evolve over time, and bringing back a former show-runner to replace the current one is stupid and backwards. If Moffat does leave, I can see Mark Gatiss taking over, though.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:45pmI recognized it as the voice of the Dalek Supreme from 2010-2012. It was deep like the 2005 Emperor Dalek and the 2008 Supreme Dalek, but it was also more gravelly.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:42pmI agree with most of what you say, Doctor Who one, but that’s still down to opinion. Personally, I liked the Paradigm Daleks, and I’ve seen some people complain about Gallifrey’s return, myself not among them.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:41pmWhen the Daleks show up in the Papal Mainframe, the Doctor asks them how they remember who he is, and they say they drained the information from her cadaver.
jonny scoones
December 26th, 2013 - 4:31pmGood point. Thanks 🙂
DOCTOR WHO ONE
December 26th, 2013 - 4:28pmBAD THINGS MOFFAT HAS DONE
Introduced the Paradigm Daleks.
Splitting series 6 and 7 in half.
Having no 2 parters during series 7.
Confusing the hell out of fan’s with the storylines to series 6.
GOOD THINGS MOFFAT HAS DONE
Got rid of River Song in ‘The Name of the Doctor’ [thank Rassilon 😀 ]
Saved Gallifrey and the Time Lord’s in the final day of the Time War.
Shown the Time War, as we all thought we’d never get a chance to actually see it.
And perhaps, most important of all, cos this is the most important one of all before considering Moffat a fool – ensuring Doctor Who’s future for another 50 years by giving the Doctor a brand new life cycle of regenerations to ensure Doctor Who will last for it’s 100th Anniversary in 2063 – BE GRATEFUL FOR THAT AT LEAST !!!!!!!!.
Jj
December 26th, 2013 - 4:27pmDo they say that in the episode and at what part do you fond that out
RORY DOCTOR RIVER POND
December 26th, 2013 - 4:12pmthere was her nan, her dad, and that there woman. maybe they wanted them to be… older?
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:11pmIt all depends on opinion. Calling him a fool and saying he ruined the 50th Anniversary is offensive to anyone who enjoys his writing or enjoyed the 50th, and calling him a genius and telling people to like his episodes is rude and shoving your opinions in people’s faces.
Dalek the Supreme
December 26th, 2013 - 4:10pmThe information was extracted from the corpse of the lady who was in charge of the Papal Mainframe.

December 26th, 2013 - 4:08pmWhy can the daleks remember the doctor again
