What Would You Like For The 50th Anniversary

What Would You Like To See For The 50th Anniversary

With the days and months ticking away to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who what would you like to see happen to celebrate this momentous occasion.

A multi Doctor Story? Past Doctors and Companions playing other parts? anything as long as it involves Paul McGann or Doctor Who street parties perhaps?

One thing that I would really like would be a series of TV stories with Paul McGann. He’s brilliant on audio and in comics, and never really got to establish his character on TV, so a special anniversary series would be brilliant. If it went down well in the ratings, it could possibly continue for rurther series’. Preferably not sticking to Leekley’s ideas though.

The Doctor’s universe starts seeping through into the our universe (where its a tv show). The Doctor traces the problem to the one place he’d never expect; the fields of Trenzalore, which is located on the ruins of Gallifrey. The only way to send the universes back to where they belong is for the Doctor to make his biggest ‘fall’, he must reveal who he is at the exact time of 5:19pm (ftransmission time of the first episode) on the Saturday 23rd November 2013. The episode should be called ‘Doctor Who?’. The episode should inclued the 11th Doctor, 10th Doctor (whether its the half-human one or the 100% Time Lord one, it does not matter), Captin Jack, River Song, Amy or Rory (depending on which one dies in Series 7 Episode 5), the Master (working with the Doctor, not against him), the Doctor’s brother (who has been trapped on the ‘real Earth’ for a long time), the Silence, Weeping Angels, Daleks and Cybermen

yes but red dwarf’s a joke. no, but seriously, it’s a sitcom. Doctor Who would take it seriously.

doctorwhofan27 – BBC’s ” Hyperdrive ” TV Series was a joke, it’s always been viewed as a copycat to Red Dwarf.

My other idea was that one of the Doctor’s previous selves is killed by the Silence and Kavarian who are out of options to stop the Doctor from answering “THE QUESTION”. The Doctor starts to fade away from time and he must find and save his other selves (David Tennant, Christopher Eccleston, Paul Mcgann etc). He Succeeds in doing so but is being hunted down by the Daleks and the Cybermen who have been manipulated by the Silence. Now the 11th Doctor has to travel back to his very beginning at Totters lane, with the old police box in the junk yard and prevent history from being changed before reality itself is threatened by the loss of the Universes greatest saviour. The Doctor himself.

I think it’d be cool if the Silence manipulated the Time War to happen. When the 11th Doctor finds out he realises that the Time war should never of happend and tries to return history to it’s previous course. He then stummbles across his 10th, 9th and 8th incarnations as the 11th Doctor can’t do something like this on his own. He eventually sets history straight but is shot down by the Silence where he returns to the TARDIS to regenerate! Not to forget the Daleks and the Cybermen.

I’d like to see Tom Baker return in the 50th Anniversary narrating the story in his burgundy costume in a gothic-like throne room, looking a lot older and more wiser than we have ever seen him before. The role of the narrating Fourth Doctor I thought in mind would not be part of time travel, but as a manifestation after the events of Logopolis. Tom would have the opportunity to perform that character than he ever did before. He is a legend to all Who fans everywhere.

Shada is an incomplete story. In a manner of speaking it was Tom Baker narrating the story, not the Doctor!

In the future, some scientist is developing a time machine which the Doctor is trying to stop before it’s activeated. Once turned on, the michine splits time open, and everything begins to change. We see old companions back but that have all lived entirely differnet lives, some various past doctors (but only in fairly small parts) but River Song has remained the same. The Doctor knows that only she can really save the day as his past begins to change and he becomes completely different. River can’t cope with it, so she uses a hundred years of her life to stop the experiment. When everything is returned to normal, the Doctor takes River to the Singing Towers of Darillium, where he hands her a newly made sonic screwdriver and walks off, crying, into the distance…

I wouldn’t mind if tim burton wrote an episode for doctor who. just saying.

the 50th anneversary should see the return of the most powerful beings of dr who including:

    special weapons dalek
    raston robot
    mechanoids
    the destroyer
    fenric

it should also see the return of the scariest of monsters including:

    the empty child
    werewolf
    the beast
    the family of blood
    pegg dolls
    vashta nerada

Kovarian, her religious solders, and the Silence, try to stop the Doctor from answering the question. The question which will connect a link, and bring back gallifrey. Doing this which ensure the resurrection of Omega, now the most powerful being in the universe. Old Enemies are returning, The Doctors meets most of his other incarnations. And the Doctors Final Day with Riversong is coming.

    My idea is…

the daleks have allied themselves with the ressurected kovarian and her army, the daleks invade earth to destroy the doctor’s companions, jenna louise coleman, jo grant, susan, martha, amy, rory.
meanwhile the doctor is trying to stop the silence, as they are provoking him, then he comes face to flesh (kovarian is half dead so she is very flesh and gore) he sees 10 silence wearing each of his costumes from doctor 1 to 10, the daleks and the silence army are winning at this point. the doctor is trying to avoid the question that is all over the universe… DOCTOR WHO.

how about something like an unearthly child, a briliantly writtrn story featuring no monsters. its more of an educational morality story which teaches us to survive in a hostile world. no daleks, no cybermen, no master, no other doctors. just the first story as great as it ever could be.

It can still be brilliant without the monsters (The lodger). But this is the Doctor Who 50th and we at least need a Dalek. Probably you could build up on that on Skaro, where they first met the Daleks, but in this story aren’t fighting the dying Daleks, but are trying to survive.

    • stewie

      April 27th, 2012 - 9:49am

the lodger had avatars in it, they count as monsters

    • Dalek Sec

      April 28th, 2012 - 7:17am

True, but it would be unrealistic if the Doctor spent his whole life fighting monsters. Of course we need to see more Daleks, they are more unscary than ever. In order to be scary, they need to exterminate.

Don’t get why fan’s keep mentioning having the 9th Doctor make appearance.

Chris wanted nothing to do with Doctor Who after the Parting of the Ways. As far as his concerned, he just helped bring our beloved show back and that was that, plus the Sun newspaper mentioned about a month or so ago claiming he wasint very happy working with some people during his time on the series or something like that.

Instead of Chris, get Paul instead to reprise the 8th Doctor incarnation, atleast he would be interest if not his successor.

  • Christopher

I’d like to see at least all the surviving Doctors, especially including Tom Baker and Paul McGann, working together to stop a powerful enemy and some tying together of all the show’s years. Plus, a goodbye to Ian, who eventually grows old in the far future, and to Susan. The Doctor said he would come back someday.

Oh, and Meglos should pop up sometime.
Plus, could we just get answers about all the unresolved plot threads in Series 5/6 already?

Just as vicious as the Classic Cybermen and Daleks. Now Doctor Who monsters are there for cheap laughs. If the 50th Anniversary is full of cheap cracks of the 11th Doctor, i will ragequit.

The 50th Anniversary needs to be down to earth and gritty. No happy endings.

One Matt Smith ( I like X , X is cool ) so called “jokes” will make me find Paul McGann and arm him with a Rifle. And shoot Matt Smith.

And The Death Zone as it could be a quite easy way to bring back loads of classic enemies for example: Sea Devils and Silurians ( redesigned ) in an Aquatic Area, The Krynoid in a Secluded Jungle , Dalek Civil War in a Gallifrey Parallel City , Ice Warriors in The Polar Caps of Gallifrey.

And who could be behind it?

      1) Fenric : Bitter after being banished to The Shadow Dimension, Fenric discovers a portal to The Matrix and recreates The Death Zone, thus bringing The Doctors to his “domain”.

      2) The Celestial Toymaker : ?

      3) Omega: Survival of the Fittest?

      4) The Valeyard : Destruction of The Doctors.

      Which Doctors? : 7th , 8th , 10th, 11th( no silly jokes )

Not related to Doctor Who in anyway, but if anyone is a fan of the BBC’s other great Sci-Fi, Red Dwarf, the Sun Newspaper had uploaded a picture of the cast from one of the upcoming new episodes of Red Dwarf – Series X to be broadcast sometime this September. The Sun claims the new series starts this Saturday, but they are wrong, it’s just repeats on Dave of the old episodes, SMEEEEE HEEEEEE !!!! . . . . Shame they can’t get their facts right every now and then when it comes to news about Doctor Who.

But as far as I know, Doctor Who – Series 7 and Red Dwarf – Series 8 both begin in September 2012.

Perhaps some kind of multi-Doctor story; featuring Doctors that have been and may yet be (or were in other dimensions)?

    The return of Davros?

A war among the Doctors’ most famous and powerful enemies?

A made for T.V. film – or “mini – series” of feature length episodes?

Anything is possible, I suppose – but I suppose it’ll be spectacular whatever BBC comes up with 😀
