What Would You Like For The 50th Anniversary

What Would You Like To See For The 50th Anniversary

With the days and months ticking away to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who what would you like to see happen to celebrate this momentous occasion.

A multi Doctor Story? Past Doctors and Companions playing other parts? anything as long as it involves Paul McGann or Doctor Who street parties perhaps?

Multiple doctors, Ian Chesterton should return as an old man, and Susan should return perhaps in a new regeneration. Daleks should be there, as should the Cybermen and of course The Master. Foreman Junk Yard and Coal Hill school should be visited, preferably in the year 1963. Some other notable companions should return, and the white interior of the TARDIS should also make an appearance. The current doctor should regenerate, perhaps with some or all of his other incarnations gathered around him.

Oh and there should be a joke about Ian Chesterton being the old one now and the Doctor being young. A complete reversal to how it was when Ian was a companion. Ian should call the Doctor dear boy or something.

    Nearly done, don’t worry.
Steven Moffat should not be permitted to write it on his own. It should be a joint production written by the very best writers DW has had. All the producers writers who are still alive should have an input or at least a say in what goes on.

No, Moffat shouldn’t write it at all, when his plots get over-ambitious, they fall apart. I think Russell.T.Davies (if he would want to) and Neil Gaiman should write it.

Neil Gaiman, yeah. There’s no way Moff isn’t going to write it or at least part of it. We know that he can write very well. Look at his episodes from RTD’s era. He just needs somebody to keep him on a leash, and hopefully the other writers could do this. RTD would have to buck his ideas up if he were writing, and despite Mark Gatiss churning out some not good stuff in his time, I wouldn’t mind seeing him involved.

What do you think about the rest of my ideas though?

    i would like to see;

every doctor ever in one time one (5684, the ecromatlen era), they all have every sidekick with them eg, amy pond, rose tyler, sarah jane. everyone is arguing and it is NEARLY world war three but then every monster EVER on doctor who, invades galifrey. the time lords rise from the dead and the queen declares it ww3. everyone dies. as-in all the doctors and sidekicks, k9 wasn’t there and he “accidently” turns of the galifray gravity from the core of the planet. everyone (the enemies) get thrown off the planet into the universe of secromatinale(-sec-row-matt-in-ale-) (i made it up… it means emptiness or something like that)except k9 and the cyber bots and the daleks. sarah jane was with k9 at this point so she goes up and sees all the time lords are dead, she finds all the sonic screw drivers from the doctors’ pockets, attaches them to a massive satelite and then shoots the ray it prodices at the time lords, sidekicks and doctors, and the enemies. the force is so strong it knocks the enemies of the planet… the timelords and doctors are all safe but the sidekicks wouldn’t wake up O_o david tennant and matt smith save everyon by making the ray even stronger 🙂 hope you like it 😀

I think they should do a episode in which the Doctor revisits Ian Chesterton who then helps in preventing an invasion. It would be able to celebrate the 50th anniversey in a acceptable way and could also have Ian finally discover the Doctor’s orgins (e.g. that he was a timelord from Gallifrey who can change his appearence) and also contain flashbacks to old episodes.

I agree. I’ve always wanted to see Ian meet another Doctor. It would be best if he met the 11th, cos then it would be a complete reversal of how things were when Ian was companion. The doctor was old and he was young last time, but things would be very different this time round. Maybe Ian could slip in “Dear boy” when addressing the doctor.

i think the time lord will return, davros will return, skaro and gallifrey and also we could see the 12th doctor appear like the watcher did before regenration.i also think the order of the silence should be a really big order like an empire with hundreds of the silents[memory proof creatures] leading it in one final battle on the fields of trenzalore,a place on gallifrey,a battle between the silence and time lords.omega could be the leader of the silence.they could be his empire and the fall of the eleventh is the final battle.the time lords are lead by the doctor who will answer the question to end omegas war.

LOL sorry mate, I love Doctor Who as much as you do, but no TV show is worth street parties lol…

But yeah, they should without a doubt show the first episode, which I expect that they will. I remember Coronation Street broadcast it’s first episode in 2010, which was it’s 50th anniversary. I expect the same from DW.

A 90 min story in which the Doctor and his companions have to visit each of his past incarnations for some reason, and Forrest Gump-like technology could be used to place Smith and co into stories from the first 7 DRs, then bring McGann back for when the Dr visits HIS timeline. Ecclestone is unlikely to return, so stock footage/FG type scenes with Smith and him. Tennant would come back, so film new scenes with him. Doing this could enable lots of old monsters to return as well, and we could also have a glimpse of the Time War. Knowing Moffatt though, allthis is unlikely, and what we get will probably be a massive let-down (lets face it, ANYTHING less than what ive described above will be a let-down!)

    narration by Tom Baker
Daleks(as a unified army, a civil war has already been done)
    a new design of Cybermen
K-9 to join the 11th Doctor in his travels
return to old places like 76 Totter’s Lane, Telos, etc.
NO return of the Time Lords or the Master(they’ve made it pretty clear we aren’t gonna see them again)

I know! The Silence realize the Doctor survived and set a trap for him that erases his memories. The TARDIS pulls some of his past incarnations(4th, 7th, and 8th) to help him pilot the TARDIS back to Totter’s Lane, Telos, etc., meeting old friends, and old enemies, until the Doctor has all his memories back, and the past Doctors return to their own times, and the Doc makes a comment that helps show the long history of Doctor Who

anything that dosent feature the silence is fine by me. any old monsters that featured in the 60’s and early 70’s would be nice. sontarans, daleks , cybermen, the master, zygons, silurians, the celestial toymaker- just not the silence, it was done to death in series 6. and i dont know about you, but the series 6 storyline just wasnt that great.

I said in my own comment, Moffat should not write it by himself. It should be a joint production. All the writers who have churned out the best episodes over the years should come back and write it as well. We know that Moffat can produce brilliance, he demonstrated that in RTD’s era. I just think he gets over excited and needs someone to hold him back, which is what having multiple writers could do.

i have a theory behind why the silents are memory proof.it think they are memory proof/erase your memory is because they are trying to guard the question.so they wipe your mind to stop the question being revealed something they are guarding and the doctor must not answer it is like a code.the question is hidden and the silents wipe your memory to stop you finding out about it

We need a season long (or half season at the very least) rip roaring adventure thru the Doctor’s – and the Series’ – rich and varied past. Matt is one of the best actors to play the part, and can deliver the wide range of emotions we need to become truly pulled into this epic of all epic journeys. We also know River has implied she has met all the Doctors incarnations (whether he realized it or not) and in K9 we have a classic companion that hasn’t aged…so The Moff invents some urgent mystery which can only be solved by the Doctor searching through his own past, and Alex Kingston as River (tho River of course could be in many guises if need be – giving new relevance to any number of background or.minor characters from past adventures) together with K9 to “sniff” out the anomalies take a fantastic voyage thru the Doctor’s past lives and adventures. In other words, keys scenes from previous adventures will be merged with new storylines and Doctor 11, River! And K9 inserted via CGI into these past scenes that long time fans know oh too well (and will get a special thrill spotting the changes!) while new fans will be treated to a new perspective of the show’s unrivaled history and depth. The merging of classic scenes, new filmed action, CGI, doppelgänger costumes and sets to seamlesslessly blend all eras of Who together in one massive thrilling extravaganza!
Also, this is a fantastic opportunity to finally get some new 8th Doctor scenes on film – Paul McGann willing of course – as his scenes can be newly filmed (especially if there’s any rights issues with the Fox movie being used). Also, the past Doctors still with us can lend their voice and acting talents to help “alter time” by making scenes subtly different to what we know and remember as the Doctor tries desperately to discover the secret lurking in his own past. And River will finally meet all the past Doctors, something that has been implied but now confirmed. And how fantastic will it be to see Alex Kingstong in costumes for past Who slipping into the various adventures and cultures and alien worlds of Who history? And bouncing around thru time would give an opportunity to revisit old enemies and (literally) old friends as we see some of them in the past episode scenes and some of those In their present to clarify something about those long ago times – so much potential here and technique used in various other films and series (Forest Gump, ST DS9 Tribble Tribute epi to name a couple that were fantastic but let’s see the Who take on this theme and see the limits to all time pushed and stretched and broken like never before! This would truly be the defining celebration of the best that Who has to offer, and give new fans a glimpse of the past like never before, and showing that Who is the same series despite being so very different. A wonderful challenge for Steven Moffat and crew, and a brilliant tribute and journey for fans new and old, and everywhere in between. This simply must be done, even if for only a 2 hour special, but preferably a multi episode storyline to give each era of Who it’s own Time in the 50th Anniversary Spotlight! No wonder The Moff said they needed so much prep time for production work – but will be worth it and anticipated by fans like no other special ever could be. Scarves, bow ties, tin dogs, sonic screwdrivers and fingers crossed this is part of the celebrations! 🙂
