I must explain better, when I say I’m all for equality but not in this show I mean it from the Doctors perspective only.
I still want equally but with other cast members.
Sorry about that, it did look bad after I read it back.

Dr Who is a male character . I hate all this PC gender neutral rubbish. You have to say what are the motives of the PC brigade . They have chips on their shoulder about their own identities . I see nobody asking for famous female characters to be men in the future.Men are men and women are women and the world is a wonderful place for it. The BBC will lose the audience (and money) if a women is appointed – now why would they want to do that – it’s a big money spinner for them.
Why all this negative stuff about Kris Marshall – he will make a fantastic Doctor – he will be a warm cheeky character who can do fear , he doesn’t have to be lightweight. Capaldi did a great job but it didn’t quite work.

How can it be comon sense when it could easily stop fans watching? You are right about females having decent representation, but not at the expense of ruining the longest science fiction show ever.
It does not have to happen, most will continue to watch if the Doctor stays male, many will stop if he changes gender! Including my wife who hates the very idea. And she is not alone.
If the Doctor ever finds his again would she still want to be married to him or her if he’s a she by then? Do his kids want two mum’s?
    Is his wife still female?
All this gender change throws up too many questions.
I’m all for equality but it doesn’t have to be in this great show, the BBC have enough programmes with such issues represented.

    Quick Poll:
Who does everyone want the next doctor to be? Do you have any opinions on whether they should be male of female?

I hate that term PC, being PC is banning children off playgrounds in fear they’ll hurt themselves being PC is not ensuring women have decent representation that’s just common sense and the way it should be, there is nothing wrong with a woman playing The Doctor

I hate the people wanting the doctor to be female for a laugh or to watch fans who don’t want a female to get mad at it
Picking a doctor is a serious thing and is not a thing to joke at because if they don’t pick someone good it lead to them to cancel the show. What I don’t like is people saying it is not right for people to want him to stay a male but it is right to say he should be a female. Also we call him a mad man with a box not a mad person with a box.

Ps People are saying it will be a woman because of the advert but they are looking at things that are not there and by looking at the advert you could say it is a man because it is after the men’s final
you can’t guess by the advert but in the name of rassilon it better not be a female

Well, as far as I’m aware, Kris Marshall isn’t currently in any stage or tv production at present. So he is definitely available for the role. I’ll be surprised if isn’t him.

  • The Outcast

    July 15th, 2017 - 1:24pm

But even some of those Female fans don’t want a female Doctor. The gender of the viewer shouldn’t matter in Doctor Who. It is a show for everyone, atleast, it should be.

  • The Outcast

    July 15th, 2017 - 1:22pm

I was only joking about the 10th Doctor bit, but I have actually seen tweets assuming he’ll be the next Doctor because of that moment. :/

  • The Moffat Paradox

Know perfectly well there are plenty of female fans but Jon Pertwee did say it tends to be” more of a male sport”.

Yep my money’s on young Luke…he’s the ‘Tennant type’ the BBC want and a very fine actor with universal appeal…

  • Adam

    July 15th, 2017 - 11:36am

It was never teased since the 80s…that was just an ‘off the cuff’ remark made by Tom when he left the role..I don’t want none of that ‘PC’ gender bending nonsense from Moffat’s world! I want a new TIMELORD not a TIMELADY! Don’t fix what’s not broken! Anyways my money’s on young Luke treadaway…

Kris marshall seems to be the bookies choice although with the long association with chris chibnall on broadchurch i,m more inclined to think it still might be olivia coleman. If it is, i,d be quite happy with that.

How is Kris Marshall a controversial choice?? He’d make a great Doctor Who

  • Doctor Stu

    July 15th, 2017 - 10:47am

It could bring a surge of female viewers. I think people forget that women watch the show and often feel that all men will suddenly switch off because they’re outraged with a female Doctor whereas the majority just don’t have an issue

The Outcast, very good point, but just no

  • Doctor Stu

    July 15th, 2017 - 10:45am

Is there any suggestion that it could be Kris Marshall other than the fact that he left death in paradise at the same time Peter announced he was leaving. Is this just what people are basing it on or is there more.

  • The Moffatt Paradox

LOL The Outcast. You would make a BAD Dalek.

Ots after the mens final so could it mean. A) its peter capaldi whos the final man to play the role and a womans takong over next or alternatibely B) its on a mens final because its a man

  • The Outcast

    July 15th, 2017 - 9:24am

If they are filming Series 11 in the coming months, it would be nigh impossible. If Series 11 isn’t being filmed this year, though, I will never understand.
