When The Doctor Was Me
July 16th, 2017 - 2:57pmI’m not saying this because i think its right but I am 99% certain the BBC want the show to be back to its popularity between 2006-2010. Therefore they will cast a 30 something white male. Again i’m not saying this is how it needs to be. But i can’t see anyone taking the risk of a female doctor. We may get a doctor of a different colour which i welcome with open arms and would love Sacha Dhawan to be cast. He was so good in AAISAT i wanted him as the Doctor from then!! Heres hoping!

July 16th, 2017 - 2:56pmThe way Federer is playing in this Wimbledon Final. The new Doctor might be announced sooner than we think.

July 16th, 2017 - 1:32pmFor the BBC one of the big elements will be merchandise. How many young boys ( 5 to 11 year olds) will want their parents to buy them a female action figure? Very few probably. And selling the programme around the world could also become problematic with various prejudices in some cultures. Political correctness against financial profit? We see everyday how that goes!! It may be too big a risk for the BBC to take, plus society itself can be pretty shallow, look at how most (not all) cinema action movies fail to do well financially with a female lead disappointingly (Wonder Woman has been a rare exception ).

Exactly, or just bring back the Rani as she was a good female Doctor Who character.

July 16th, 2017 - 1:08pmShe would be great. But anyone but Kris Marshall or Tom Rosenthal will do me. Although I wish Capaldi was staying.
The Outcast
July 16th, 2017 - 12:58pmA loss of 70 Million? Damn.
I’m not really against a female Doctor per-say, but I don’t understand why it needs to happen. I mean, if you want more females in the media, surely making a new female character would be a better idea than turning a man into a woman?

July 16th, 2017 - 12:24pmTom is still going, and he is STILL the Doctor in the Big Finish audios, he’s just waiting now for his Knighthood. The man deserves it. A legend of British Television.
