I’m thinking classic stories are being revisited – the android invasion (human robot dude), girl in the fireplace (horse pic), the time warrior (gladiator robot thing), the invasion of dinosaurs (dinosaur pic), doomsday (doctor holding on in tardis) and others. Too tired to continue. Just the old favourites eh? – Tom Baker (50th Special)

Is steven moffat trying to make amends with certain classic stories. I;e- the tardis interior the invasion of time rectified in journey to the centre of the tardis. Well are the dinosaurs making amends for the poor models in the pertwee story?

Possibly, after all, looking at all of the clues…
Curator: “In years to come you might find yourself revisiting a few… But just the old favourites, eh?”
Capaldi: “I’ve made many mistakes, and it’s about time I did something about that.”
Which could mean that is incorporated into the storyline, as shown by the dinosaurs in London, etc.

I hope Davros is ACTUALLY returning and that it’s not the Dalek Primeminister talking like him to pull wool over our eyes. I like the fact the Cybermen are returing and with a nice nod to ‘The Invasion’, I just want them to be a creditable threat again. I think the Dinosaur will feature in an episode with the Paternoster Gang since it’s set in past London and Silurians like Vastra have controled Dinosaurs before. I just hope some of the new monsters are scary or at least make sense in a narative way.

Doctor Who isn’t good any more, Matt Smith ruined the show for me by doing terrible jokes and just being annoying. I’ve lost all faith in this show, please make it stop. Capaldi’s not going to be any different. 🙁

What Matt Smith, and all actors say aren’t usually their own words. Apart from some exeptions, actors just read from a script. Matt Smith probably ‘modifies’ it to suit his personality, but it is mostly the script writer.

Just a thought, but if Romana ever does return if assuming she did not die in the Time War, how about actress Sarah Alexander in the role ?.

She starred as Susan in Steven Moffat’s BBC comedy series ‘Coupling’. Her first bit of acting work was a brief appearance in the Red Dwarf episode ‘Stoke Me A Klipper’ as a French Queen, and in more recent times appears now with Alan Davies as his characters wife in ‘Johnathan Creek’.

And she also worked with Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller in their original C4 run of the Armstrong & Miller Show. And thinking about it she was in Green Wing with Michelle Gomez too.

We see a Dalek ship.I would like to see more space battle scenes in which ships like Dalek ships are slugging it out harder against someone elses about as advanced.A bit like the Dominion War in Star Trek DS9.

Nice visually, but Doctor Who has never really been about space battles; rather battles in various other forms. Each sci-fi show has it’s own way of doing things that suits it’s template. Personally I don’t see why it should stray into relying on more special effects. However, I realise that today’s audiences do require a little more at times.

W’eve already seen something like this in “Parting Of The Ways,The Stolen Earth/Journey’s End” and “The Day/Time Of The Doctor”.
It’s just that to date it’s only the Dalek ships that have done any serious shooting.

    • Obsie

      July 16th, 2014 - 9:58pm

I know your point, but most of the races The Doctor faces are chiefly out and out baddies set out on conquering, enslaving, converting and making darn nuisances of themselves. As we know the Daleks just want everything dead; and that’s it full stop. Perhaps other races simply don’t want to engage them. Or can’t because of various technology stages. Maybe it’s The Shadow Proclamation preventing all out battles. Or budget.

I hope Davros returns to the series. Because you can’t have the Daleks without him and the voice in the trailer sounds just like Davros

As much as I like Davros, many of his appearances in the classic series diluted the impact of the Daleks, so possibly have a Davros story with no Daleks?

I love how the Doctor’s being so cryptic with Clara. Their going, “Into Darkness”. I hope they release another trailer soon, after they completely finish filming the series. The only thing that I’m not sure whether it was the right choice, is that they didn’t give him a new sonic screwdriver. I thought it was time to bring out River Song’s future sonic screwdriver. Who knows what they have planned in that area of the show. I love the trailer, Peter Capaldi’s already shaping up to be one of my favourites, after David Tennant.

Yes, got all that scenario. I think now I would like a bit more narrowing down of the “over..” part. As they did with numbering of regenerations. I’m also happy for The Doctor to explain it away with a touch of minor truth manipulation in humorous form. I’m being picky, I know.

i cant help but think that the half face person is an updated clockwork droid, maybe made from wax to blend into the background as they do not tend to wear masks in this period in time, which would explain half the face as it may of melted off. what made me think this is the fact the droid moved its arm up like a robot and it looks like it has some sort of clock work inside of the metal cage casing, meaning it could be them, what do you lot think
