Nice visually, but Doctor Who has never really been about space battles; rather battles in various other forms. Each sci-fi show has it’s own way of doing things that suits it’s template. Personally I don’t see why it should stray into relying on more special effects. However, I realise that today’s audiences do require a little more at times.

We see a Dalek ship.I would like to see more space battle scenes in which ships like Dalek ships are slugging it out harder against someone elses about as advanced.A bit like the Dominion War in Star Trek DS9.

I agree, you can’t have the Daleks without Davros, he is is their creator and one true god of all Daleks after all, their real Emperor.

Thanks Joe and Simon for that. Been watching since 1967, sometimes the brain goes! Of course The Doctor could always be following his first rule.

I hope Davros returns to the series. Because you can’t have the Daleks without him and the voice in the trailer sounds just like Davros

Yes, got all that scenario. I think now I would like a bit more narrowing down of the “over..” part. As they did with numbering of regenerations. I’m also happy for The Doctor to explain it away with a touch of minor truth manipulation in humorous form. I’m being picky, I know.

I love how the Doctor’s being so cryptic with Clara. Their going, “Into Darkness”. I hope they release another trailer soon, after they completely finish filming the series. The only thing that I’m not sure whether it was the right choice, is that they didn’t give him a new sonic screwdriver. I thought it was time to bring out River Song’s future sonic screwdriver. Who knows what they have planned in that area of the show. I love the trailer, Peter Capaldi’s already shaping up to be one of my favourites, after David Tennant.

Wonderful to look at in the story, but worthy of bringing them back to the casual viewer, debatable question, I suspect not (sorry to burst your idea bubble). However, with Who it’s anyone’s guess.

Listening to Peter Capaldi’s voice-over; he seems to say: “I’m The Doctor, I’ve lived for over two thousand years…” How has he jumped so quickly age wise, have I missed something along the way?

i cant help but think that the half face person is an updated clockwork droid, maybe made from wax to blend into the background as they do not tend to wear masks in this period in time, which would explain half the face as it may of melted off. what made me think this is the fact the droid moved its arm up like a robot and it looks like it has some sort of clock work inside of the metal cage casing, meaning it could be them, what do you lot think

Heres a thought I’ve had for a while. In the comic book universe and it’s Animation/TV/Movie adaptations you can have the enemies of Superman/Batman/Spiderman working together against them.
So why not have Davros (minus Daleks),the Master, the Great Intelligence and maybe even Madam Korvarian (assuming the’ve all survived) acting in unison to do what the’ve failed to do alone: bring down the Doctor!

And seemingly no white shirt in the second to last photo.

A weeping angel at 0:06 at the end of the corridor, perhaps? The silhouette does remind me of them, and it would explain the flickering lights…

0.45 looks similar to the spaceship from Flesh and Stone, even with anti gravity.

Also there are of course Invasion of the Dinosaurs, someone dressed a little like a Fires of Pompeii soothsayer and Clara’s Sarah Jane-style outfit…

“I’ve made many mistakes, and it’s about time I did something about that” – maybe he is briefly revisiting a few scenarios from his past…
