August 20th, 2015 - 7:44pmOne thing no one has pointed out as its all been Daleks this, Zygons that. That photo of actors Ben Freeman, Jenna Coleman and Peter Capaldi with a person wearing a big stone face with red eyes!
Betting that the hands with eyes are on that creature

August 19th, 2015 - 11:56amJust been looking at some news for the new series. Invasion of the Zygons and Inversion of the Zygons have been named as episodes.
Found out other exciting, cool things, but one thing i am not too happy about, is that supposedly, an episode is a “found footage” story. I would’ve prefered a musical episode.
So, not especially looking forward to that! On a note about this episode, also read that it may not include the Doctor Who intro ๐
And for those of you who hate Clara, an episode will feature the Doctor on his own.
As i say, this is all what i have read on other sites, so just thought id share it.

August 18th, 2015 - 1:29pmI personally believe i have figured out the character Maisie is playing. Im not going to say though, just in case im right, as it would be a huge spoiler.
But judging by the trailer, photo shots and the episode she is seen in, i think i know. In fact ill just say it, she is playing (Eastenders duff duff).

August 18th, 2015 - 4:03pmYou know, I just think she’s going to be completely NEW character but if she turns out to be someone we know then… PUFF that’s it for me ๐

August 18th, 2015 - 7:01pmThat’s it? Seriously? So perhaps we shouldn’t have, I don’t know, those Dalek things back, or Zygons or any other pesky returning characters/species…

August 19th, 2015 - 4:11pmAfter lengthy searches, Maisie Williams’ character is said to truly be a new character, i read on one site what her name is and it translates as something quite interesting.
Also read up on the rumors about Paul McGann/David Tennant’s appearances… If what i have read, it is quite good how its been written.

The Metal Lord
August 17th, 2015 - 10:48amTharils! Tharils are in the trailer! Could this possibly mean more E-Space, return of Romana, etc? Nobody pointed this out, but I guess they’re relatively unknown. Very excited for new series, looks very gothic and steampunk at times and I like that. Also going to point out that even though the person with lines on their face could very well be a decaying Master, I think this could be a return of the Sisterhood of Karn.
CJ
August 17th, 2015 - 5:23pmWell Clare Higgins who previously played Ohila, a member of the Sisterhood of Karn in Night of the Doctor is confirmed to appear in the opener… So I think we are going to see the return of them!

August 17th, 2015 - 3:36amAlright! We have more than just 60’s Daleks returning. I feel like the Dalek episode is going to be an apology for not showcasing the previous Dalek designs in Asylum of the Daleks. And the Master will be meeting them. This could be interesting. Clara using a gun? This could also be interesting. We also have really bad CGI in the form of a dragon. Those robots again, too. And not much is being revealed about the Zygons. Just that they’re showing up.
More than anything, I’m excited for this more mellower Doctor. As nice as it was to have a grumpier, more detached seeming Doctor, there were times in the first half of Series 8 where I found him downright unlikable. I just hope he doesn’t completely lose his detached facade, as I liked the idea for the character in concept, and it’s still a part of who he is.

August 17th, 2015 - 12:01amCant wait to find out what Rigsy is looking at, he looks terrified.
I know it wont happen, but i really hope he joins Clara as a companion, (oh well, can live in hope). He was a good companion to Clara’s temporary “doctor” in Flatline.
A
August 18th, 2015 - 1:44pmI think Doctor 12 needs a new companion. There were several options in series 8 but Rigsy would be a good choice. He’s proved his mettle against an enemy even the Doctor did not understand. Also I think, although he makes a good show, he’s a bit insecure & needs some reassurance which could play well against 12’s inability/unwillingness to show deeper emotions. It could be good for both characters.

August 16th, 2015 - 11:58pmDue to myself having bad eyesight, it has taken three attempts to actually see the creatures (maybe Daleks?) Flying up above the (Skaro) planet.
In the image where Maisie’s character looks behind her, i am sure i have seen that lion-type monster in the show before, not the modern era, but the classic series.

August 16th, 2015 - 6:35pmI know I hold the unpopular opinion, but can someone please tell me I’m not alone in hoping we one day see each of the paradigms daleks powers revealed…
… and also, to be clear, is everyone’s who’s against the new daleks against them based solely on how they look.
Doctor Stu
August 16th, 2015 - 8:24pmI was against the Daleks new look because I thought they were replacing the iconic Dalek design indefinitely but when I saw them in asylum of the daleks with their new metallic design alongside the bronze daleks I gained a bit more respect for them. And it would be a good cliffhanger if the doctor thought he’d got the paradigm Daleks right where he wanted and then one of them opened their back panel and whipped out something good power wise. It would be good to see what each of their powers were

DOCTOR WHO ONE
August 16th, 2015 - 5:23pmNo that’s not the Cyberman version of Danny Pink, it’s that man with no eyes that the woman in the previous trailer screams at.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
August 16th, 2015 - 3:20pmPersonally, I’m glad we obviously won’t be seeing them Paradigm Daleks again. They was not very popular after all, and are one of the things that has been known to divide the fan’s.
Moffat’s quietly got them swept under the cover, simple as that, or as I like to think of it –
The large Dalek ship in ‘The Time of the Doctor’ flying over Christmas town on Trenzalore had every single Paradigm Dalek on board. The ship was, in my view, the Dalek Parliament ship.
When the Doctor said “love from Gallifrey boys !”, and then fires regeneration right at the ship, he destroys all the Paradigm Daleks on board, wiping out the Paradigm Dalek line completely, so only Time War style Daleks remain.
The last great act of the Matt Smith Doctor was wiping out the Teletubbie Daleks. Thank you Matt Smith ๐

August 16th, 2015 - 6:19pmGood theory, but I still want to see a proper, Canon explanation on screen for the
paradigmn’s absence. I also want a proper explanation as to why the daleks had to have their memories of the doctor retreated, that was such a waste, think of all the potential story lines and even series arcs

August 16th, 2015 - 8:42amGuys! I could be wrong but in the first image at the top, I think the guy in the hood is a version of John Simmโs Master whose decaying or dying, like the Masters we saw in The Deadly Assassin and The Keeper of Traken. I could be wrong, but if you remember in the first trailer, theres a cave where the hooded guy is going in and it looks totally like the planet Karn! In another part of the first trailer, you can see some red cloaked figures hiding in the caves so they are obviously the Sisterhood of Karn. So in The Magician’s Apprentice, I think we might see a flashback or something showing the Master’s regeneration, yet again I could be wrong but you never know…

Doctor Stu
August 15th, 2015 - 9:07pmIt’s a kids show but series 1-4 were targeted at every age due to the nature of the episodes such as the fear, technicality, humor, subtle references and emotion but series 5-8 dumbed this down a bit and targeted more at children than a variety of ages so I see sort of see what Doctor Holmeshog means. I personally think this trailer looks excellent but then again I thought the same of the trailer for last year and some of the episodes were severely lacking so I hope this isn’t the case this year

Plus the fact that both David Tennant and RTD were in Cardiff recently, but again it could all just be a coincidence
The Moffat Paradox
August 14th, 2015 - 4:41pmThere has been some discussion here as to whether Missy is really the Master so maybe there should be, as with “The Night Of The Doctor” mini episode showing Paul McGann’s 8th Doctor regenerating into the John Hurt War Doctor, a mini episode showing the John Simm Master regenerating into Michelle Gomez’s Missy.

August 16th, 2015 - 3:16amOr stealing the ‘Missy’ body from another time lord…
Anonymous
August 17th, 2015 - 3:40pmNo no missy is not the master I think missy is Rani pretending to be the master!!!
The Moffat Paradox
August 17th, 2015 - 9:30pmBut why if she were the Rani bother to pretend who she really is otherwise? That character was evil and confident enough like the Master to do without that pretence.
It’s also possible as has been suggested that in the first episode of series 9 “The Magicians Apprentice” we have seen in the trailers a to be revealed decayed post John Simm Master going like the 8th Doctor to the Sisterhood of Karn before regenerating into Missy. Yet The Corsair switch gender regeneration precedent has been established in canon without their involvement being even necessary for that.
Don’t think it’s a Moffat ploy. Think Missy really is supposed to be the Master and the character background is established virtually in total in the official BBC site.
Anonymous
August 18th, 2015 - 2:21pmThe Moffat Paradox it not decayed post John Simm Master because he is not in it , it new character but Doctor and Master are brothers so I do think missy is Rani and the Master will waiting for Doctor to fall into trap of missy then the Master Returns !!!

100,000BC
August 20th, 2015 - 8:48amThe sisterhood of Karn offered the Doctor “man… or woman?”
Personally I’ve nothing against the Doctor/Master becoming female but if you are really struggling to grasp the concept then imagine the Sisterhood of Karn did it with their special regeneration-influencing powers.
I used to give the argument that it would be silly because of the amount of Time Lords who ended up in a different relationship to the one they started out in their previous incarnation (like the end of the Curse of Fatal Death), but given that most Time Lords would regenerate less often than the Doctor as they spend less time in dangerous situations, and given the apparent rarity of a gender-changing regeneration (Time Lords such as the Doctor, Borusa, the Master, Romana and Rassilon seem to have managed to keep to one single gender throughout their documented adventures), I have discarded that theory. There is, in fact, fairly substantial evidence to suggest that Time Lord relationships change after regeneration (think about the variation between the way the third Doctor always returned to the Brigadier and UNIT, even after his exile was lifted, and the way the fourth Doctor only returned very reluctantly either due to a call from the Brig or a request from Sarah). I would imagine that with gender, the Time Lord’s hormones and impulses would also change during regeneration and that a Time Lord would not have expected a relationship to last past one regeneration (although that would be in theory still a possibility).
Anonymous
August 20th, 2015 - 6:04pmBut the Doctor and the Master are brothers , they can’t change gender, like James Bond , the Doctor and James Bond are similar but opposite way, they are man James Bond and the Doctor
A
August 22nd, 2015 - 9:55pmAnonymous, Who said the Doctor & the Master are brothers? And wth has James Bond got to do with anything?
100,000BC, I assume the Time Lords have a custom a bit like the Trill in DS9. If I remember correcly, Trill marrages were over when the host died & relationships only resumed if the new host & symbiote collectively felt the same about a former partner. Which is pretty much your latter point. The first Time Lords to regenerate must have realised there is a personality change and it would only be rational to figure a way around possibly thousands of years married to someone who literally does change from the person who got wed. That or set up REALLY good marriage guidance.

Anyway, Clare Higgins who previously played Ohila, a member of the Sisterhood of Karn in Night of the Doctor is confirmed to appear in the opener.
