Elisabeth Sladen [1948-2011]

Elisabeth Sladen [1948-2011]

A picture is worth a thousand words… please feel free to print and circulate.
Andrew Skilleter

Tom Baker…

Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions. She can’t be dead. But she is: she died yesterday morning. Cancer.

You can read the full tribute Here.

Matt Smith…

“What struck me about Lis was her grace. She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who. And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely. I will miss her, as will the world of Doctor Who and all the Doctors that had the good pleasure to work with Lis Sladen and travel the universe with Sarah Jane.”

David Tennant…

I just can’t believe that Lis is gone. She seemed invincible. The same woman who enchanted my childhood, enchanted my time on Doctor Who and enchanted generations who have watched her and fallen in love with her – just like I did. I feel very honoured to have shared a TARDIS with Sarah Jane Smith, and I feel very lucky to have shared some time with Lis Sladen. She was extraordinary.

Russell T Davies…

“I absolutely loved Lis. She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis.”

Nicholas Briggs…

We are all so shocked and so very sad at the news of the death of Lis Sladen. Only yesterday I was filming a DVD extra in which I was talking with such heartfelt passion about how she was so ‘luminous’ on screen and how brilliant she was as Sarah Jane Smith.

Please bear in mind some comments on this site are from very young and upset people. This news as come as a great shock to many fans, old and new.

truly shocked that liz has passed away, my daughter was celebrating her 18th birthday on the 19th & is deeply upset that her favorite character is no longer with us. she was the best ever doctor who companion ever. series 6 of doctor who should be dedicated to liz & nic & i also think that there death should be marked by tv funerals of their characters as a final act of dedication for their life long association with the show. lis has broken many hearts so R.I.P.

it i soo sad, but i think they should play the half of the series as hs been filmed and then start up another series like Rani Chandra investigates or something set maybe a year or two after the whoniverse sarah jane death and follow her as an investigative journalist living in 13 bannerman road like she was in the mad woman in the attic in 2059

So sad to hear about Elisabeth Sladen this week. I was in shock, she was the most beautiful and amazing lady. She will be sadly missed by all generations “Gone but not forgotten”. My Sympanthy goes to her husband Brian Miller and her daughter Sadie Miller.
Best Doctor Who Companion as the doctor said “My Sarah Jane”.

Too true they should show the episodes of Series 5 that she’s in that our finished in her honour and then finish the Sarah Jane Adventures there but not say Sarah Jane’s died say something like she’s moved away from Bannerman Road to be closer to Luke or to fight aliens much further away where they have no one to save them!

It werid feeling sad for someone i’ve never known, or seen in real life, but she was one of the only Dr Who companions that ever stayed mostly on Doctor who right from jon to matt. Will they ever replace her on Sarah Janes adventures , i’ll stop watchin the whole series that is let to come, as it is not truly Sarah Jane Smith! You shall never be forgotton!
