November 26th, 2013 - 8:42pmBooboo this episode is called the time of the doctor
So we have had
The name of the doctor
The night of the doctor
The day of the doctor
The time of the doctor
Wouldn’t be surprised if he dosnt fit in fate for capaldis first ep! ‘The fate of the doctor’
But seriously I was hopping for silent night!!

November 26th, 2013 - 9:25pmApparently Name/Day/Time are apart of a loose trilogy by Moffat, dunno why, but hey!

November 29th, 2013 - 12:01pmwere you jumping for silent night?

November 26th, 2013 - 6:47pmFor all these people saying Smith is the 13th and final doctor, no he isn’t. In the angels take Manhattan, he gives river some of his regeneration energy, which proves he still has some left. In the impossible astronaut he begins regenerating before being shot by the astronaut. (Yes, i know, its the tesselector)but still he begins regenerating. These prove that he still has the ability to regenerate. So yes, Matt is the 12th doctor.
the astroanut of death
November 26th, 2013 - 6:54pmtime lords might have a small amount of regeneration left but not enough to repair the whole body in a full regeneration
and if that was true moffat and matt would have not said he is the 13th doctor
crazy guy
November 26th, 2013 - 8:03pmactually in the impossible astronaut the doctor didn’t finish regenerating so that didn’t count as a regeneration. all the first 8 doctors are normal then the war doctor is the ninth, Chris is the tenth, David is the eleventh and Matt the twelfth and making peter the thirteenth but however as moffat said Matt is not called the eleventh doctor just in his eleventh body
jay
November 26th, 2013 - 8:30pmThink about it, in ‘Lets kill Hitler’ river gave him her remaining regenerations to stop her killing him, that’s got to be at least 9 more doctors after the 13th. problem solved id say
drjakeyoung
November 26th, 2013 - 8:34pmMoffat and Smith never said that.
1. There is no record anywhere of Smith saying
that.
2. I am pretty sure the newspaper that said Moffat said that was the same one that has a reputation for spicing up rumors about dr who.
TheDoctorWhoGeek
November 26th, 2013 - 11:06pmMoffat’s addressed this more recently (read it on Anglophenia I think) that Smith is the thirteenth, as one of the regenerations was taken up by the MetaCrisis Tenth Doctor. Thus the whole Thirteenth Doctor thing can’t work so Moffat has to solve it in the Christmas Ep! Exciting! Could be him just stirring up rumours though as we know he does!
crazy guy
November 30th, 2013 - 9:05amyeah and plus just remembered when Matt regenerated in impossible astronaut he was in the teselecta so
MasterKasterborous
November 30th, 2013 - 10:25pmOr it could be that 10-11 was his 12th regeneration (as there was the War Doctor + Tennant into Tennat) and so The Doctor’s first regeneration cycle does indeed die at Trenzalore but he has many more lives to follow!

November 26th, 2013 - 4:57pmI think that in the end all the different monsters that the Doctor faces in the ep will corner him on a rooftop and right at the end 11 will jump. All the clues are there, Silence will fall, fall of the eleventh, river falls off the building, the angels fall into the crack. All of 11’s time on the show has hinted to falling.

November 26th, 2013 - 4:40pmHere’s the BBC synopsis
Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

November 26th, 2013 - 4:14pm1 of the synthesis’s should be “the name was said, the night has passed, the day has been, now the time has come… The Time of The Doctor

November 26th, 2013 - 4:36pmor leave out night part cause that was only a minisode so “the name was said, the day has been, now the time has come… The Time of The Doctor” which is better and say what u think

November 26th, 2013 - 1:48pmLooks very exciting! I heard a possible synopsis that was leaked, but I won’t spoil it. All I can say is it looks exciting enough from the promotional images alone! Although, I think the title could have been better, as someone else suggested, Silent Night, or maybe, keeping with the ‘of the Doctor’ titles, we could call it Silence of the Doctor. Oh well, at least it has every possibility of being the best Christmas special Doctor Who has had!

The TARDIS
November 26th, 2013 - 7:05amI really like this poster! And the way Smith seems to have gained his own special Christmas costume.
Silence Will Still Fall
November 26th, 2013 - 2:03amApparently david tennants 10.5 regeneration is going to count as cannon in this years xmas special as a full regeneration and seeing as john hurts war doctor is obviously the 9th doctor whether people want to admit it or not would mean matts doctor is infact the 13th doctor with 10.5 counting as doctor number 12 (this is confusing) but more importantly would mean he has used up his 12 regeneration’s thus peter capaldi will be the 14th doctor. Phew…….
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 2:19amNah….the meta crises doctor is just that…the doctor didn’t regenerate so it’s not part of his cycle of re generations. Matt is 12 and Peter will be 13..,, that then allows Steven Moffat to deal either the whole 13 incarnations issue.
the astroanut of death
November 26th, 2013 - 7:22amhe did regenerate but he just used his DNA to keep him self looking the same.
so I recon it counts so think the 11th doctor is actually in his 13th body meaning his time is up this Christmas…
Dalek the Supreme
November 26th, 2013 - 1:51pmThe Journey’s End regeneration should count. I still haven’t forgiven the 10th Doctor’s vanity in Journey’s End, but I am glad the issue will be addressed. The Doctor has had 12 bodies so far, but he used up a regeneration to clone his 10th incarnation.
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 3:14pmHe didnt regenerate…he used the regeneration energy to heal him self and then directed it into his severed hand before he regenerated. The 10.5 Doctor would not have existed had Donna not trigged the process…so he is completely seperate from the Doctor and is NOT one of his incarnations.
the astroanut of death
November 26th, 2013 - 4:35pmthe moffat apparently said it counts so…
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 5:16pmNo, the Daily Mail said it counts…I personaly think its a mis quote
100000BC
November 26th, 2013 - 6:39pmThis could explain why we randomly saw JH regenerate into CE at the end of Day – maybe the Doctor counts the regenerations in a series of flashbacks and realises…!
TheDoctorWhoGeek
November 26th, 2013 - 11:11pmI read online (Anglophenia I think) that Moffat said in an interview after the 50th that the MetaCrisis Doc counts as a regeneration, though he could be rumour stirring again!
MOFFAT!
*Shakes fist*
dalek eternal
November 27th, 2013 - 6:11pmthe 10th doctors regeneration in journeys end used half the energy to heal himself then to stop him from changing he put the remainder of the energy into his hand which then created the meta crisis doctor so all the energy was used
Christina
November 26th, 2013 - 12:53amI wonder how they are going to explain a 14th doctor. I think it will go back to River Song. When she gave him her regenerations. I think it reset his regenerations or at least gave him what was left of hers. My question becomes since he knows n o w that a child conceived on the yard is become timelords why has he not attempted to repopulate his species?
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 2:20amThere won’t be 14. Peter is number 13.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
November 26th, 2013 - 8:50amAnonymous – There will be future Doctors, as Steven Moffat, according to the Sun Newspaper last week, is said to have come up with a genius storyline that will show the Doctor somehow gain a complete new life cycle of regenerations.
Dalek the Supreme
November 26th, 2013 - 1:55pmPerhaps it will be an award for saving Gallifrey, as the High Council promised the Master a new regeneration cycle in exchange for saving the Doctor in The Five Doctors. It could easily come back to River Song giving him her remaining regenerations, too. We’ll just wait and see.
Christina
November 26th, 2013 - 2:29pmAnonymous: They told us in the day of the doctor that David Tennent was the 11th and the 12th doctor. And that Matt Smith is really the 13th regeneration because they are now counting John Hurts as the first doctor
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 3:17pmWhen did they tell anyone that Tennant was the 11th and 12th incarnation…can you post the link…I clearly missed that. However i suspect its forum rumours being confused with what has actuall been said.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
November 26th, 2013 - 3:18pmChristina – Matt’s Doctor is not really the 13th, his the real 12th.
William Hartnell – The 1st Doctor
Patrick Troughton – The 2nd Doctor
Jon Pertwee – The 3rd Doctor
Tom Baker – The 4th Doctor
Peter Davison – The 5th Doctor
Colin Baker – The 6th Doctor
Sylvester McCoy – The 7th Doctor
Paul McGann – The 8th Doctor
John Hurt – The 9th Doctor [The War Doctor]
Christopher Eccleston – The 10th Doctor
David Tennant – The 11th Doctor
Matt Smith – The 12th Doctor
Peter Capaldi – The 13th Doctor
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 3:24pmIsn’t SM saying The tenth used up regeneration so Matt Smith is the 12th version of Doctor but the 12th regeneration so technically he is the last one?
thsi is what i read it as, i can see why people are getting confused
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 3:20pmDOCTOR WHO ONE: I know there could be future incanations, I merely meant that Peter Capaldi’s Doctor is not the 14th…he is the 13th. However, regarding future ncarnations…my personal feeling is that SM has introduced the War Doctor to notch up the number of incarnations so he is at the helm when they have to work out how to go beyond Peter Capaldi’s 13th incarnation – I think PC will only do one series then the show will be rested for a few years – but not before SM leaves the doors wide open for the next production team.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
November 26th, 2013 - 3:36pmBoo Boo – Don’t forget that in ‘Day of the Doctor’, a Time Lord was heard saying –
“No sir, 13” when correcting the Time Lord General who had said something like “My god, all 12 of them”.
Anonymous – Well as far as I’m concerned, there now is 12, making Capaldi 13, even thou we will know him as the 12th Doctor, and plus, the end of ‘The Day of the Doctor’ confirmed how many there are exactly by showing all 11 Doctors and John Hurt’s War Doctor.
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 3:49pmthat’s right though 13th Doctor but 13 regeneration used (10-10 again) when there should only be 12
Anonymous
November 26th, 2013 - 4:43pmCurrently there are 11 Doctors and 1 War Doctor making a total of 12 incarnations (meaning he has regenerated 11 times). Peter Capaldi will be the 12th Doctor but 13th incarnation. I am not aware of RTD or SM confirming that the Meta crises Doctor counts towards an incarnation. Remember…its not the number of regeneration processes…its the number of lives that count towards the 13 Life Cycle Limit…otherwise the Watcher, The Valyard and Dream Lord would also count…whereas these are nothing more than versions created ‘from’ the Doctor…as is the Meta-Crises Doctor.
But “Who” knows…the great thing about this is you can change the rules…
booboo
November 26th, 2013 - 4:50pmbut that’s exactly what SM has supposedly said to the daily mail
quote
On Saturday he told me Matt is actually the 13th and final doctor. John Hurt is officially now a doctor and David Tennant used up an extra regeneration during his stay.

November 26th, 2013 - 5:06pmHa…now I know it was in the Daily Mail, then I think I can safey put that down to a miss quote. Until I hear/read it from an offical source, I wont count the meta doctor as an actual incarnation. None of the DW wiki’s have took any notice of this either.

100000BC
November 26th, 2013 - 7:59pmI thought he said that simply to stop people from fussing over changing the numbers of the Doctors, rather than to suggest that he used up a regeneration, but we don’t know for sure…
Christina
November 26th, 2013 - 10:08pmBooboo: exactly, that is going to make Peter, while the 13th doctor he will in essence be the 14th reincarnation. I still think by obtaining all of River’s lives he is going to be able to keep regenerating.
Anonymous
November 27th, 2013 - 10:46amI agree with 1000000BC…I think he has been taken out of context. Also we know Steven Moffat lies/twists things to lead people down a false trail to protect his plots why is everyone suddenly taking this particaulr statement as gospel..? Peter Capaldi will be the 12th Doctor and 13th incarnation. We’ll find out for sure in 27 days but I will bet my house on this.
