As expected Rory gets little action in the video. Again to put people of the scent a bit. Join up all the dots from the first half-of-the-season (Rory dying every episode, becoming a Time Lord “don’t just happen” line by the Doctor when talking about Melody, Tardis hidden on the beach, talking out of a Timelord distress signal etc etc), take a knowledge of the major commercial elements of Doctor Who – and the unmistakeable conclusion is that the final twist of the season will be that Rory is the Master. The interesting snippet from a scene from Episode 13 that’s appeared in normally reputable areas online of “I’m not Roman, I’m Saxon!” suggests a commercial decision to bring back the Master has been made while covering it up extremely well. Similarly, there’s lots of funky monsters that add a new dynamic to Doctor Who, and of course, for figures and other items commercially. Rory as the Master fits as well – joins the dots – even if you take recent canon the Silence and their use of perception filters wouldn’t work on the character (“As if a perception filter would work on me!”). There’s even subtle suggestions that Rory’s sudden appearance in the episode after the End of Time is no coincidence and there’s something more to him.

Picture 22 was included in the trailer deliberately I imagine as it looks a bit like David Tennant

    “didn’t he die in ‘Gridlock’”

Yes, but in 5 Billion + A.D.!! Remember, TARDIS, anywhere/anywhen in time and space???

In theory the Doctor can meet anyone at any point he does not cross his own personal timeline ( and the writers play pretty fast and loose with that!)

She does look considerably older, but she doesn’t look that much different. If the make-up department got the aging right her fans will certainly still be happy in a few decades time.

Maybe Kovarian wanted to be more popular so persuaded random characters to wear an eye-patch? Maybe she wanted an action figure of herself?
