Doctor Who Nightmare In Silver Trailers / Pictures

Nightmare In Silver Next Time Trailer

BBC One on 11 May at 7.00pm to 7.45pm

Hedgewick’s World of Wonders was once the greatest theme park in the galaxy, but it’s now the dilapidated home to a shabby showman, a chess-playing dwarf and a dysfunctional army platoon.

When the Doctor, Clara, Artie and Angie arrive, the last thing they expect is the re-emergence of one of the Doctor’s oldest foes. The Cybermen are back

I think The Nightmare In Silver should boost the ratings up this week, it’s on at 7:00, it’s one of the flagship episodes, and there’s been loads about it in the newspapers

The FA Cup final will wreak the ratings below 6 million again is my guess

What if the weird cyber headgear creates clones of the people who wear it and the clones are upgraded into cybermen?

Good thinking 😉 That would make sense of the fact that there appears to be 2 versions of the 11th Doctor, with one the Cybertechnology on one side of his head, and not on the other one.

I don’t want the new ones to be cybus, but maybe the oddly shaped one was an experiment for the new one?

My theory for this episode seems to be that if the cybus cyberman beats you in a game of chess then you are upgraded, but if you win then you either take his place or the cybermen shut down.

Why are we still saying that the cybusmen are really mondasian cybermen just because the logo on the chest is missing. THEY ARE IDENTICAL, logo or not. Mondasian cybermen do NOT look like cybusmen. Why would they? They are from a different universe, they are totally human when mondasian were not, (excepting cyber conversions)
Lets have an updated earthshock cyberman…or let the new ones be mondasian…from our universe, (or are they going to be like the tellytubby daleks with just a suit upgrade. Give up with the cybus!!!

the cybus cybermen and the mondasian cybermen could have met and the mondasian cybermen could have knicked there design. as with everytime we sure the mondasian cybermen they looked diffrent. so why not?

      May 8th, 2013 - 10:17pm

just think its cheap. It was a money saving thing. The mondas cybermen have history. Cybusmen dont. To say that the mondas cybermen just decided to copy the paralell cybusmen is just, well, a swizz. Hope the new cybermen do the alien justice. Still, after seeing what moffat has done with the silurians and the sontarans, I dont hold much hope. I fear to say it but maybe dr who needs a break. I have 50 years of classic who to keep me going till it comes back.

i think the reason peapole have been going missing is because the peaple who own the park work for the last cyberman and the cyberman needs new peaople so he can make a new race of cybermen so the cyberman makes the owners take people who are visiting the park hostage so he can make new cybermen

I think I have a theory of why most of the episodes that we have seen have been ‘good’, ‘average’, ‘bad’or ‘boring. This is so that everyone will be anticipating for the 50th Anniversary and so when we see it, it will seem like the best ever episode due to the mediocre episodes we have seen prior to it. The BBC are probably doing this so that all the hype for the 50th Anniversary will not seem just average or playing with fanboys’ hopes.

  • Dalek Smith

i think that whoever is owner of the theme park is being controlled by the mondas cybermen and that the chessboard is an intelligence test, whoever can beat the cybus cyberman creates a new race of cybermen becoming their leader (a bit like tomb of the cybermen let me know what you think)

Who knows? We never may see them fight again onscreen. Keep in mind the Daleks were also been upgraded in 2010, so it might still be the Daleks who’d win. Until otherwise seen, I’m guessing the new Cybermen would be able to destroy a Time War Dalek, but would be destroyed without too much hassle by a Paradigm Dalek.

    MY THEORY
I think that the old cybermen (cybus) are exhibits at the theme park and don’t do anything, whereas there is ONE live mondasian cyberman (the damaged one with rings) and this is the LAST CYBERMAN (Hence the old title)this cyberman then tries to get the doctor and Clara but fails. So then he goes and converts himself into a more efficient model in his tombs which are in the theme park as a 3D backdrop for the cyber exhibits. This cyberman RUNS and converts the army people and the owner (mr hedgewick?). Warwick Davies escapes and the doctor has no choice but to let the cybermen go as they are far too powerful for him to deal with.

Yeh that’s what I think, I think they are exhibits that don’t do anything hence the Cyberman at the chess board and the two Cybus Cybermen standing and not moving. I think that the people are converting themselves also

      May 6th, 2013 - 8:38am

Possibly Doctor Who’s take on the early stages of being assimilated into a Borg Drone, where once the Borg inject you into the neck with Nanoprobes, you start to develop Cybernetic implants all over your body that in the case of most implants appear through your skin, only in this case, it changes you slowly into a Cyberman.

Take a look at the guy who says “Hail to you the Doctor, saviour of the Cybermen”, you’ll notice that by the time he says that, he has more of a Cyberman teardrop eye then he does earlier on the in the story from what can be seen in both trailers.

      May 6th, 2013 - 9:15am

Interesting, dr who 1! That actually could be it!At first I thought it would be used similar to an eyedrive but this theory seems more possible!

    • DOCTOR WHO ONE

      May 6th, 2013 - 9:08pm

Well old Paramount did rip-off the BBC when they created the Cybermen copycats the Borg for ‘Star Trek – The Next Generation’, so if they are trying a Doctor Who version of Borg assimilation techniques then I guess it’s the BBC’s revenge for having a British icon copied for Star Trek.

It’s interesting to note also that, in the IDW Doctor Who / Star Trek – The Next Generation crossover, the Borg actually do regard the Cybermen as superior to them – YES !!!!!!!!! 😀

Still, the Borg are all dead now [except former Borg drones Picard and 7 of 9] since the final story of ‘Star Trek – Voyager’, and yet the Cybermen live on – FOREVER !!!!!!! 😀

    • MaxP

      May 7th, 2013 - 1:22am

Were the Cybermen the 1st cyborg type characters ever created in popular fiction/entertainment? Their were probably olf b grade sci fi movie characters who were half robot in the 50’s, but were they the first to actually be named with the ‘cyb’ part in their name?
