Original Mondasian Cybermen Return to Doctor Who!
From the official site
The original Mondasian Cybermen return to Doctor Who as filming begins on the final block of the forthcoming series…
Filming has begun on the final two episodes of Doctor Who series 10, with this first look image revealing the return of a much-feared classic foe.
The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is pictured with the Mondasian Cybermen – the original version of the Doctor’s deadly enemies who hail from the planet Mondas and have not been seen in Doctor Who for over fifty years.
The Mondasian Cybermen – Peter Capaldi’s long-time favourite foe – will return in episodes 11 and 12 of the series, alongside Capaldi as the Doctor, Pearl Mackie as Bill Potts, Matt Lucas as Nardole and Michelle Gomez as Missy. The episodes, written by Steven Moffat and directed by Rachel Talalay, are now filming in Cardiff.

March 21st, 2017 - 4:21pmAccording to The TV Times it is Capaldi favorite Cybermen. So maybe he something to do with bring them back?
Dalek Eye Stalk
March 23rd, 2017 - 10:41amPlus Capaldi really wanted the Doctor to meet his grand daughter, Susan. I would love to see that myself. Capaldi’s final story at Xmas would be ideal to see him meet up with Susan. Perhaps they could both regenerate at the end. In a story I would call ‘The Time Lord Invasion of Earth’. Set on a future Xmas on Earth, where the Doctor reunites with Susan, and a disgruntled Rassilon decides to take the Earth, and make it his ‘new’ Gallifrey. Plus Rassilon would be supported by the Master(Missy), the meddling monk, the Rani, Morbius and the Valeyard to name just a few rouge timelords.

March 19th, 2017 - 1:18pmCan we expect the fish people from ‘The Underwater Menace’ to come back too. 🙂

March 11th, 2017 - 8:57pmWill this story be set in 1986?

March 11th, 2017 - 10:00pmWhy?
The Moffat Paradox
March 12th, 2017 - 1:08amBecause the 10th planet story that first introduced them was set then.

March 12th, 2017 - 10:20amI don’t know for sure but I expect modern times as the nightmare in silver and Cybus cyberman also feature in the same episode plus the design has been updated implying they are newer than 1966 versions when they were introduced. Behind the scene images also show civilians which are dressed to fit in with modern times.
The Outcast
March 12th, 2017 - 1:00pmIf its set in 1986, then its probably a story where:
A) They explain how the Cybermen survived the destruction of Mondas or
B) Another Attack style story where various different types of Cybermen team up to save Mondas.
I personally think it’ll be set in the modern day because of rumours I’ve heard about this series’ story arc.

March 12th, 2017 - 10:19amIt was great. wonder when the BBC will actually use it
The Outcast
March 12th, 2017 - 12:57pmI’ve heard Monday somewhere.
Dalek Eye Stalk
March 10th, 2017 - 5:15pmGreat for the fans, but the general viewer won’t care. Whilst it’s great to have these Cybermen back, they don’t sit well with the modern series. If not done right, they will be laughed off the screen. They worked well in the 60’s, and I must add in black and white. But the transition to HD could leave a lot to be desired.
Doctor Stu
March 10th, 2017 - 10:52pmI agree they could be really laughable they need to have something really chilling about them like their creepy voices or a new ability to really make them stand out and not just seem like a gimmick. I’ve honestly just got a feeling they’re being thrown in there for the sake of it and won’t have as big a role as I first expected. It needs to be snowing and foggy to make them retain their original creepiness. Ah well we’ll soon see
The Outcast
March 11th, 2017 - 6:55amAgreed.
The Moffat Paradox
March 12th, 2017 - 1:38amDoctor Stu’s comment could equally be well made about the Daleks, They need to do things even if we don’t always see it that are proper unsettling like when they were extracting information from a UNiIT scientist’s mind and killing him in the process in “Doomsday” and using test subjects in “The Stolen Earth/journeys End” for testing the reality bomb. In the classic series they were known to do things like engage in bacteriological warfare prior to invading a world. Terry Nation as alluded to in “Genesis Of The Daleks” did say that they were supposed to be a metaphor for the Nazis.

March 12th, 2017 - 6:18amEPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
Doctor Stu
March 12th, 2017 - 2:47pmThe Daleks need to exterminate more people as well. When rusty killed those two soldiers in series 8 at the start that’s the first time we’d seen a Dalek properly exterminate and kill somebody since series 5
100,000BC
March 23rd, 2017 - 10:08pmInteresting that you say that; in the Moffat era the Daleks have only ever come into contact with a few people (the Doctor, his companions, Churchill, Bracewell, a few WWII soldiers, the small cast of Into The Dalek [briefly], and Missy). This feels to me like they are being undermined – They’re just silly pepperpots when there is nobody to exterminate.

March 10th, 2017 - 3:30amWell it suits doesn’t it old doctor old enemy!
Tom Tardis
March 9th, 2017 - 5:27pmAgain,I think dr who has copied me. I created a multi cybermen story titled “legacy of the cybermen” and also the title “day of the doctor” was created by me before the 50th anniversary. Ive also created a theme for capaldis regeneration. Hope they don’t coy that too, lol

March 11th, 2017 - 9:49pmMaybe if you all looked on youtube, u may find that Tom Tardis made his own stories. When the Cult of Skaro came into the show, i was out with my mates and tried to remember all the names. At the time i had forgotten what Dalek Jast was called and said it was called Rabe. Next thing i see is the old Battles in Time Card collection with a Dalek called Rabe. Walls have ears as the old saying goes.
The Moffat Paradox
March 12th, 2017 - 1:19amWell I can truthfully say after seeing Destiny Of The Daleks thinking how could the Daleks free Davros from imprisonment on Earth short of a costly and risky full scale attack unless he was put in something like a space station and then lo and behold in Resurrection Of The Daleks he’s been kept in cryosleep in a space station.

March 12th, 2017 - 10:23amIt’s just a coincidence that people have similar ideas
The Outcast
March 12th, 2017 - 12:56pmIn all the 6 million or so Doctor who fans, surely someone is going to have the same idea as one of the people in charge of the show.

March 9th, 2017 - 10:43amI saw some filming videos and pics and it looks like the new cyber men and the David tennant cyber men are back in action and are invading the streets again finally! We also see half converted hospital people who are guiding a group of humans to be converted! Looks great so far!

March 9th, 2017 - 7:09amThe Mondas cybermen have the best voice out of all the monsters of Doctor Who. I can’t wait!
Stephen Masters
March 10th, 2017 - 1:46pmThe Mondas versions were good, but the voices of the tomb Cybermen sounded more sinister as they used to scare the hell out of me.

March 7th, 2017 - 9:39pmNice to see them back although I prefer the tomb of the cybermen Version!

March 8th, 2017 - 10:47amI agree. Bring the moonbase and tomb cybermen back for Capaldi’s finale.

March 8th, 2017 - 5:46pmAgreed, Anonymous. Few fans will have these as their favourites but no Cyberman comeback is more impressive than this. What a bold, intelligent and ironic end for both Doctor and Producer.
Brilliant, bold, and well judged.

March 8th, 2017 - 10:00pmIs this story going to be like ‘The Magician’s Apprentice’. As we seen Daleks from all era’s in that one. Are we therefore going to see Cybermen from all era’s in this one?
Stephen Masters
March 10th, 2017 - 9:44amYes I do as well. I thought the Moonbase/Tomb Cybermen were were creepy as hell. “You will be like us-sa.”
Stephen Masters
March 10th, 2017 - 1:38pmTim M as far as. I know, only the original I think.
