Radio Times – BBC Not Ruled Out Female Doctor Poll

BBC Not Ruled Out Female Doctor

From The Radio Times

The new Doctor could be handed the keys to the TARDIS as early as next month, BBC sources have confirmed – with insiders suggesting Matt Smith’s replacement needs to be announced before the Doctor Who Christmas special begins filming next month.

The Twelfth Doctor is expected to first appear on screen at the end of the Christmas special, following the regeneration of Matt Smith’s Doctor.

It would be virtually impossible to keep the identity of the new doctor a secret even if the entire set went into lockdown during filming of the Christmas special, a BBC source told RadioTimes.com.

“The search has begun in earnest and is active now,” the source said, adding that the BBC has not ruled out hiring a woman to replace Matt Smith.

So like so many other we ask the question – yes of no!…

The trouble is (though I have really liked Moffat) it is time for another change of direction…

Steven Moffat is the best writer and Executive Producer that has ever worked on Doctor Who. He is the reason that Doctor Who is more popular than ever.
If you don’t like Steven Moffat’s Doctor Who, then stop watching.
If the show does not evolve, than it will get boring and die. The fact that it has constantly lived on(in some form or another–comics, books, audio stories, e.c.t) for the last 50 years is a testament to its ability to change and evolve as time moves one. In fact, it won a Peabody award for this very reason–its constant ability to refresh and essentially reboot itself every 5 years.
Its why Doctor Who is the longest running and most successful science fiction show in the world: it never gets stale.

That it is probably most likely being announced then. They say that we could find out next month (July) and the Doctor Who Proms is the only real big DW thing happening next month. Also, lots of people will be there + Matt Smith and they could announce something special (Actor/Actress who is going to play the Twelfth Doctor). It would also probably be released on BBC News at the same time with maybe an interview later. Pretty exciting stuff. I was going to the Proms but then my friend, who invited me, said we weren’t going… Enjoy it booboo!

something would have to have happened to him when he reqenerated- how a time LORD become a time LADY

Not too biased in this topic, but if the Doctor’s gonna become a woman, then either something goes wrong in the regeneration or he does it by choice. Otherwise, I think there’d be a lot of unhappy time lords who want to split up with their now-male wife (Or now-female husband)… Just saying, there must be things which can stop a gender change in regeneration, otherwise there would be chaos and a lot of divorced time lords.

I just watched “The Wrath of Eukor” and you know, it wasn’t half bad, I thought the Doctor wasn’t too bad either, especially for an American (never mind she was a woman). Yes I thought it was pretty good, very reminisant of actual Doctor Who episodes of the time. Did you know they made three more, I’m going to watch those too at some point.

Well i thought doctor who was dying in this day and age with the bad writing but having a female doctor will very much just kill the whole program!

If they do this i will actualy start a riot upon the person who came up with this!
