Series 10 Episode 5 Oxygen 7.15PM Saturday 13th May
Written by Jamie Mathieson and directed by Charles Palmer.
The Doctor, Bill and Nardole answer a distress call in deep space, and find themselves trapped on board space station Chasm Forge. All but four of the crew have been murdered – and the dead are still walking!
In a future where oxygen is sold by the breath, and space suits are valued more highly than their occupants, the TARDIS crew battle for survival against the darkest evil of all…
The Doctor is played by Peter Capaldi, Bill by Pearl Mackie and Nardole by Matt Lucas.

May 8th, 2017 - 10:43amApologies. It should say ‘Davros two parter’ above. I wasn’t trying to insinuate something! 🙂

May 8th, 2017 - 10:41amSeries 9 was a mixed bag. It started brilliantly with the Davros two larger. But was very hit and miss after that. More misses (ooh er misses!) than hits in my opinion. I got bored with Clara (Surely her story arc finished with Matt Smith!), and I didn’t rate the hybrid storyline. The ‘Me’ character didn’t work for me. Once again it’s another character that seemingly lives on forever, or a long time at least (Captain Jack for example). It kind of diminishes the Doctors unique ability of regeneration, if ‘side’ characters can do better and not change…and seemingly live forever. Makes it all a joke really.

May 8th, 2017 - 6:52amIsn’t this just sleep no more but with oxygen instead?
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 7th, 2017 - 11:05pmNo worries! As The Living Shadow posted, your frustration is understandable.
Alex Who?
May 7th, 2017 - 10:48pmIt looks like its got an interesting concept.
Hopefully its executed well.

May 7th, 2017 - 9:49pmThe Living Shadow and The Temporal Jelly Baby, thanks for your replies and my apologies for being so negative. It probably is frustration that causes me to rant at times.
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 7th, 2017 - 9:43pmFor my final series 9 ratings in 2015 (out of 10), I gave five episodes 9 to 10 and another four episodes 4 to 6. Simply put, some episodes were really great in my opinion and others were quite underwhelming. The plot arc was intriguing throughout but ended up being awful in Hell Bent. So far, for me, series 10 has been consistently good with another intriguing plot arc. I haven’t given a single episode 9 or 10 out of 10 yet but my scores have been consistently decent so far. And I hope some really great stuff is coming our way!
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 7th, 2017 - 9:33pm(the above was in response to pats86 – I hasn’t seen the previous reply)
The Dalek Whovian
May 7th, 2017 - 9:21pmLimited oxygen and zombies in space, I can tell this will be very suspenseful episode
The Living Shadow
May 7th, 2017 - 9:19pmI loved most of series 9, but for me, Hell Bent really left a bad taste, and then for that to be our last episode before a year long hiatus really didn’t help (minus the Christmas specials)!
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 7th, 2017 - 9:17pmPotentially, yes, though I hope Steven Moffat has learned his lesson after Hell Bent. I won’t mind if she plays a small part in the regeneration sequence so that the Doctor starts to remember or something.
For the record, I’m not afraid to criticise elements of the show as you suggest (Moffat included). For example, I am one of the many who didn’t like Hell Bent (apart from the first 15 minutes or so).
The Living Shadow
May 7th, 2017 - 9:15pmIt’s not a case of “touching a nerve”. The points you were trying to make aren’t entirely correct… I thought maybe it’d help you look at the show in a better light if I corrected you, as in a number of ways, your problems are not the case. And we don’t like to have problems with Doctor Who… do we?
Also, I’m not saying you shouldn’t criticise Moffat, and with Clara you have a good point, and I agree it’s really annoying when people refer to Moffat as a genius and put him on a massive pedestal. In fact I feel the same way about Russell T Davies, when people claim that the ‘Tennant years were so much better’ when that era has a lot of the same (if not more) problems as Doctor Who in recent years, so I do understand your frustration.
pats86
May 7th, 2017 - 7:54pmAnd technically Clara is still alive, she can still come back and spoil the show!
pats86
May 7th, 2017 - 7:51pmI was only saying, touched a nerve have I? I am holding out for something exciting/original for a change, but yes I agree, let’s watch before judging. Pardon me for not lording the great and never to be criticised Moffat!
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 7th, 2017 - 5:44pmThose who died in Smile stayed dead. Danny Pink is dead. Why would Missy/The Master be killed off? The original Osgood might be dead. I agree with Clara, though technically we have seen her death – that death did still happen.
Besides, let’s watch the episode before judging it, eh? Maybe there will be a reset button and maybe there won’t. We’ll find out when we watch it.
Pats86
May 7th, 2017 - 5:20pmNot many though is it? And they all came back in ‘smile’ didn’t they?
as you say “a few” stay dead.
Danny Pink, Missy, Osgood, and worst of all Clara, all main characters all not actually dead….that is what I’m talking about.

May 7th, 2017 - 2:38pmYeah I believe that Series 9 was much more of a series with a great premise (i.e the hybrid) but such an awful payoff (basically the whole series) but Series 10 is much more enjoyable and I think it’s brilliant so far.
The Living Shadow
May 7th, 2017 - 2:13pmWhat are you talking about? What about the people killed in ‘smile’ or in ‘Thin Ice’? A fair few characters stayed dead from those episodes? Heck, they even addressed this in Thin Ice. And I don’t think the Landlord and his mother left completely in one piece (or in any pieces at all) after yesterday’s episode… Also, I don’t believe that the people who had been consumed by the house before the events of the episode were shown to survive. Maybe if you’d commented that before series 10 and after Hell Bent you’d have some credibility.
You do make a good point about the Reset Button trait, but that’s nothing new to Doctor Who, especially since they started making 45 minute long stories.
The Outcast
May 7th, 2017 - 2:08pmIt really wasn’t. Its really overrated. [Referring to series 9].
The Outcast
May 7th, 2017 - 2:06pmEpisode 6 is also when the vault is opened, all the more reasons to be excited!
Pats86
May 7th, 2017 - 1:49pmI wonder how the reset button will be used in this episode? The most unexpected thing would be someone actually dying and staying dead!
Weeping Angel
May 7th, 2017 - 11:46amIm not too sure if im looking forward to this one, but at the end hopefully we get a hint about whats in the vault in the next time trailer. Im really looking forward to ep 6. The truth monks are creepy!
Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey
May 7th, 2017 - 1:34amIs it just me, or do the effects seem unusually good for a Doctor Who episode?
The Surgeon
May 6th, 2017 - 9:34pmWe love you Jamie, we do. Oh, Jamie we love you!
Very interesting. I hope Matt Lucas is as good in this as I think he will be. He’s been brilliant in this series so far I think. Exactly what Capaldi needed (insert “what the Doctor ordered” joke here).
Jordan Scott
May 6th, 2017 - 9:33pmMeh, not usually too keen on “base under siege” stories, “the dead walking” is basically what happened in UTL/BTF last series.
The Surgeon
May 6th, 2017 - 9:32pmI thought series 9 was stupidly good
Button
May 6th, 2017 - 9:29pmOK? why is it now that Moffat produces a good series?
Mr. J
May 6th, 2017 - 9:16pmLooks good
The Temporal Jelly Baby
May 6th, 2017 - 8:34pmI’ve been looking forward to this one for a while now.

May 6th, 2017 - 8:15pmSeems like it will be another interesting episode
