The Name Of The Doctor Promotional Images

The Name Of The Doctor Promotional Images

With thanks to BBC pictures…

Clara receives a letter summoning her to a mysterious meeting, where she is given a message for the Doctor.

The meaning is uncertain, but when an enemy strikes the Time Lord is left with no choice but to travel to the one place in time and space he should never go – into a deadly trap that threatens to unravel his past, present and future.

Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman star in what promises to be a thrilling climax, with Alex Kingston returning as River Song

  • A Rose by any other name

In the promo image #5 – doesn’t Clara bear a striking resemblance to Rose Tyler…it’s the look of the mouth I think.

😆 But that’s not it. His name is Matt Baker. No? How about Tom Pertwee? Patrick Smith? Christopher Hartnell? Ok, I’m just confused now.

Exactly how I feel! Though it would be Asylum of the Daleks for me.

In Picture 4, the characters look very pleased with themselves with the Whispermen behind them so maybe the Doctor has got them on their side

and it doesn’t look like that mummy

  • cyberman2

actually i saw it. it doesn’t look like a weevil and it doesn’t look like that creature from hide

  • cyberman2

    May 14th, 2013 - 8:18pm

it was probably the creature from rings of akhaten, the mummy

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

    May 14th, 2013 - 8:10pm

Oh, well in that case, yes, but they wouldn’t need to superimpose her if she is seen in a modern Tardis corrior, they just need to either impose footage of the 6th Doctor behind her in the corridor, or to make it more easy, just have some guy dressed up in the 6th Doctor outfit and have him walk behind Jenna in the corridor.

I love the way that the Bessie clip has been made to actually look just like a piece of seventies TV. It’s got that slightly blurred, discolored edge to it.

I don’t think I’ve got this excited for an episode since the Eleventh Hour lol. I kind of wish Steven was leaving now in a way. Not because I don’t like him, but because I think this episode would be the most fitting end to his tenure. This is like the final piece of his story which he’s been building for seven years.

I mean it looks like earth, the background, I liked the red sky and mountains, all orange and yellow!

because they might superimpose here into a colin baker episode? like her and bessie?

  • TheDoctorGallifrey

    May 14th, 2013 - 6:55pm

But then one of thse promo images should’ve shown it, there is a chance it might be in the 50th! But unlikely as they won’t show 50th images as early as before bells of saint john was broadcast.

If you look at the series 7b poster with the Doctor and Clara on a motorbike, one of the creatures that look like a Weevil doesn’t seem to be shown yet, it might be in this one!

Has the monster on http://news.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/doctor-who-to-return-with-the-bells-of-st-john/ on the 8th picture been seen before, if not it’s probably in this episode or even the 50th!

  • Dalek the Supreme

    May 14th, 2013 - 6:51pm

With that coat, who else could it be? 😆

  • Dalek the Supreme

    May 14th, 2013 - 6:50pm

Well, Corgi certainly seemed to, at least. Either way, you still have a point that it’s very likely to be the Third Doctor either taken from old footage or another guy dressed as him

Looks to be the same CG model, just with a few tweaks. It’s no different to Tennant’s version, just a different angle and lighting I think. Admittedly it doesn’t look like the best CGI, but neither did lots of the CG shots we saw stills of for Hide, and they turned out to like fine in motion. So maybe when it’s fully animated it’ll look better.

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

    May 14th, 2013 - 5:53pm

Why would they need to superimpose Jenna ?.

It’s Colin’s Doctor who’s been superimposed. Either that, or it’s someone dressed in his outfit and blurred slightly so that the face of the individual playing Colin’s Doctor won’t show that it’s obviously not Colin, so that way you feel it’s really Colin’s Doctor walking past Clara in the corridor, or an echo of him from the past at least.

I know it was gallifrey, I was joking because it looks like the Lake District. I prefer the one from the tennant era

The Whisper men probably echoes, whispers or clones of dr.simieon

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

    May 14th, 2013 - 5:37pm

It’s Gallifrey. Gallifreyan is the name of the Doctor’s Species, and most likely, the name of the Time Lord’s language that we don’t actually hear cos they always spoke English, possibly because it allowed the Doctor’s companions who did come to Gallifrey [such as Leela] to understand what they was saying by having the Tardis translate for her [despite River Song claiming the Tardis does not translate Gallifreyan text but surely it must when they spoke].

Either that or they really where speaking English.

  • drjakeyoung

    May 14th, 2013 - 5:36pm

I think either clara, or Colin has been super imposed. Also, doesn’t Galifrey look, light! (i think this may be special shot footage and colored original footage combined.

  • The TARDIS

I know it isn’t considered one, but it does look to include lots of past doctor stuff. Just thinking, by the look of it…
