They are Back… Look behind You…

Officially announced by the BBC today…

You can see more filming photos at (Spoilers!)

Michelle Gomez (Bad Education, Green Wing) will join the cast of Doctor Who, playing the Gatekeeper of the Nethersphere when the series returns on 23 August.

Speaking about the role, Michelle Gomez said: “Well of course Peter Capaldi is our next Doctor, which makes complete sense. I’m thrilled to join him. Well, you would be wouldn’t you?”

Lead writer and executive producer, Steven Moffat, added: “I’ve known Michelle for years, and I’m thrilled to welcome her to Doctor Who. She’s everything we need – brilliant, Scottish, and a tiny bit satanic.”

Filming is well underway for Series 8 of Doctor Who. Guest stars confirmed to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in the new series, which will air on BBC One this Autumn include Frank Skinner, Ben Miller, Tom Riley, Keeley Hawes and Hermione Norris.

Being awkward, is it Peter Capaldi wearing the wedding ring or The Doctor?

So glad that Jemma Redgrave is back as Kate Stewart to usher in Peter Capaldi’s Doctor. It’s like a comfort blanket (says a lot about me).

These look fantastic!!! And is that a CLASSIC Invasion era Cyberman head lying damaged at the foot of the SilverNightmare Cybie??? I have always wanted to see Cybermodels from different eras team up (as there should have been Tomb era Cybies in Attack of the Cybermen still in the Tonbs but instead were all disappointingly modern – these awesome pics look like this may be a childhood dream cone true!!!). WooooooWho, can’t wait til August!

    totally agree with that

    June 30th, 2014 - 12:16pm

  • obey the whispermen

    June 30th, 2014 - 12:13pm

why cany there be some new monsters

  • The Twelfth Doctor

    June 30th, 2014 - 12:07pm

How? If Gallifrey is in another Universe, no one would be able to attack it. BOOM!

  • Drwho

    June 30th, 2014 - 11:58am

That would start another time war though,so unlikely

  • The Twelfth Doctor

    June 30th, 2014 - 11:49am

I think that the main villain will be Rassilon who is sending Cybermen and Daleks etc to bring the Doctor to Gallifrey.

Please let this be a story in which the Cybermen are shown to be more formidable and in a better light than previously; not just a cameo.
