I personally am far from convinced that this is going to work and regard her outfit as the worst since Colin Baker and that is when original Doctor Who lost me as a viewer but I’m not totally writing the show off without giving her a chance.
All I ask is give her and her new companions at least 3 episodes then make a decision wether to stop or stay watching the show, you never know the casting of the new TARDIS team may be pure genius if they can get the dynamics right.

The word ‘accept’ seems so wrong, it’s literally just a woman

Mick C, so you think all true fans have to accept everything that is put in front of us? Not a chance, I am no sheep!

All true Doctor Who fans will give her a chance because not to goes against everything the show and the Doctor stands for.

The Prydonian and Adam you are not alone, my feelings exactly well said.

She hasn’t had one scene yet so how do we know she can’t embody the character, she’s played countless different roles and genres and pulled them off fine so why are we so sure she can’t play the Doctor. Give the woman a chance. I thought casting Peter Capaldi was the wrong choice i originally felt it was a cheap move seeing how he’d already played two characters and I wouldn’t be able to get that fact out of my head but he grew on me and now I think he’s a really good doctor. No doubt all our opinions will change after Jodie’s first series

I’ll second that R1ch1e….for me McGann should have been cast as the War Doctor in the special…it would have added another layer to his character and given him a fitting send off he so deserved…

I feel the same way..sad times…and i too salute the great Peter Capaldi…for me the only actor to have ticked all the ‘Doctory’ boxes since the mighty Tom Baker…
Miss Whitaker is so far removed from that…that it’s laughable…
But time will tell…it usually does…

I dont know how to feel. I truly believe my Doctor Who association is coming to an end. I really am not looking forward to the future. Sadly it’s finished for me, and I have been obsessed with it for 49 years. I went into show business entirely thru my love of Doctor Who. I do not want to say goodbye to Peter Capaldi, and I do not want see him regenerate into Jodie Whitaker. He has not only been a great Doctor, but he is one of the great Doctors. I salute you. Goodbye

There’s certainly no one better than David Bradley to re-create the first Doctor. I just hope his performance will give fans unfamiliar with the classic series (especially the early years), the interest to watch some classic Hartnell. That’s the greatest legacy that David Bradley could achieve.

He’s already done it with the great Clara Behind every doctor adventure of course no one can criticize this as we’re all supposed to love Clara.

If anything if they have to recast past doctors in the future, at least pick actors with similar looks and of a pedigree that can carry it off without imitation. They made the perfect cast choice with david bradley. he is excellent casting.

No it’s definitely the First Doctor’s TARDIS.

It’s the new Tardis in the tim vortex seen. The one you see in the picture of her costume

  • R1ch1e

    December 10th, 2017 - 4:18pm

I feel sad for Paul Mcgann. A great, underused Doctor that has been practically breaking the Tardis doors down for years now to be back in the show and they have recast William Hartnell instead. The poor man must be gutted. I am looking forward to seeing David Bradley though

Yep and i didn’t like him either…but his casting was due to a last minute script re-write because of Tom’s decision not to take part. The great William Hartnell is no longer with us..so I wish they’d just leave the memory of him and his fantastic first Doctor alone..

Maybe, but know that’s another Moffat plot hole.

  • R1ch1e

    December 10th, 2017 - 1:02pm

He didn’t look to much like Richard Hurndall either

    December 10th, 2017 - 12:31pm

McMoy into McGann is still my favourite regeneration visually and effects wise. Like you say Pats86..it’s subtle yet effective and works beautifully.
I’m not a fan of the way it’s been handled in new who…arms outstretched with fireworks is too over the top…and unoriginal as it’s blatantly lifted from the Highlander movies..

  • Adam

    December 10th, 2017 - 12:03pm

Moffat has already messed with established continuity..in that the first Doctor never looked like David Bradley..

  • Doctor Stu

    December 10th, 2017 - 10:56am

But then i suppose it’s only the second of his new set of regenerations so maybe he can last longer without regenerating immediately

    True.

I really love all the effects here. Even if they’re aren’t the best it feels like effort us been put into them and I love how they are using the series 5 promo vortex as the actual vortex in this episode as we haven’t seen the vortex in a while. However I really didn’t want to see the regen. And the regen effects Have to be improved.

He should be dead all ready the cyber man hugged him ,then two weeks later he is still holding it in some how and then he got lazed like two or three times by a cyber man and explodes the place his at, he should of regenerated by now, we do know a time lord can hold a regeneration but not for too long.

  • Therealwhovian63

The doctor hasn’t been killed in a quick way with a bullet, in call of duty terms he is kind of bleeding out slowly. Has it been cleared up what killed him. Was it the cyberman or anything before that, which Moffat is holding secret so that he can surprise us.

Whereas I am beyond excited, I do wish they hadn’t shown that shot of him regenerating in the TARDIS!! I know it was almost certainly going to be alone in the TARDIS and be explosive, but now I DEFINITELY know it’s in the TARDIS and explosive… Would have liked to have seen that completely fresh on Christmas Day! Also is it me or does the entire shot of him regenerating look 100% CGI- as in event the TARDIS and the setting looks fake… It’s weird

I wonder how much we will see of Ben and Polly ? Not much I think.
