What did you Think of A Town Called Mercy?
What did you Think of A Town Called Mercy?
The third episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.
The Doctor gets a Stetson (and a gun!), and finds himself the reluctant Sheriff of a Western town under siege by a relentless cyborg, who goes by the name of the Gunslinger.
But who is he and what does he want? The answer seems to lie with the mysterious Kahler-Jex, an alien doctor (yes another one!) whose initial appearance is hiding a dark secret.

September 16th, 2012 - 3:29pmKahler – Jex.
The TARDIS
September 16th, 2012 - 2:34pmI entirely agree with the 14th Doctor: As long as it’s brilliant and as long as it’s Doctor Who, I don’t care where it’s made.
The 14th Doctor
September 16th, 2012 - 2:27pm@Whovian
Absolutley. He was my first Doctor, and I prefer him to Tennant any day.
The 14th Doctor
September 16th, 2012 - 2:00pmIt’s become a bit too American, but what the hell, this year has been brilliant so far. I don’t care who runs it as long as it’s good TBH.
The TARDIS
September 16th, 2012 - 12:06pmWe don’t really know where he came from or how he was made, just that he was everything drk in the Doctor. It’s possible that now all the Time Lords are dead he can’t be brought into reality any more, but it’s also possible that that’s what CAUSES it in the first place.

September 16th, 2012 - 12:01pmChristopher ecleston was good too!
Whovian
September 16th, 2012 - 12:00pmOhh okay thanks! But can’t that not happen now all the timelords are dead? (btw if you want me to stop asking questions just say so 🙂 )
Whovian
September 16th, 2012 - 11:57amIt’s hard to say. both of them were normal people transformed by the war… But I think the more evil was kathler-jex.
The Supreme Dalek
September 16th, 2012 - 10:49amWhat can I say? I just watched this today, and it did not dissapoint! The best episode so far in the series! Great acting from Matt Smith too! 😀

September 16th, 2012 - 10:44amThat was an excellent episode. Intelligent drama. Dealt with care and morality, by being well written and acted, with good character depth and sensitivities.

September 16th, 2012 - 10:32amDid anyone else think of the Doctor’s granddaughter Susan when the Doctor says the horse is called Susan ?.
Perhaps a deliberate reference to Susan herself, seeing as we are only a year away from Doctor Who’s big 50th Anniversary.

September 16th, 2012 - 10:19amKahler-Jex

September 16th, 2012 - 10:15amOriginally I thought the gunslinger, but before the episode, the original trailer for the story had me thinking Kahler-Jex was the real baddie, which turns out he was.
The gunslinger himself reminded me of the Borg from Star Trek – The Next Generation and Voyager, and Robocop, but mostly Robocop himself when his face is seen without his helmet on.
the astronaut of death
September 16th, 2012 - 10:10amguys i ve got a question for every one who do you think the villan was in this story

September 16th, 2012 - 9:29am*That cyborg over there.
Mr Evil Fez
September 16th, 2012 - 9:27amI have the same list.
The TARDIS
September 16th, 2012 - 9:16amIt does have to be said that the series is becoming more… American. Not complaining, but it is. This series has been a bit too Hollywood for my liking. America will never take over it completely, you don’t get much more British than Doctor Who, but I think that the production team are forgetting about the British origins and focusing on the US viewership.
That Cyborg over there
September 16th, 2012 - 7:56am1.) A Town Called Mercy
2.) Asylum of the Daleks
3.) Dinosaurs on a Spaceship
4.) The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe
That’s my list! 🙂
Mr Evil Fez

matt smithy
September 15th, 2012 - 10:46pmI really enjoyed it, but did anyone else notic the “dark knight” refrence when the gunslinger said “WHERE IS HE?” (based on “WHERE ARE THEY!”) in a deep batman voice! I really liked the episode. This list is in order of how much I have enjoyed this series so far(number one being my favorite)
1: Asulum of the Daleks
2: A town called mercy
3: Dinosours on a spaceship
4: The Doctor, the Widow and the wardrobe
ps: I do REALLY love DoaS, its just there are only 4 episodes so one of them had to be number 3 🙂
RiverxDoctor
September 15th, 2012 - 10:30pmto be honest, this wasn’t one of the worst or the best… For me, Its the future or present episodes that I love. Don’t get me wrong they are all great but I just really enjoy future and I think the present is the best. I enjoyed it but it wouldn’t be in my top 10, or even 30. I feel it was to serious, the last episode was fantastic and that is the doctor who I enjoy the most…
daleksean
September 15th, 2012 - 10:30pmi think if you look carefully on the gunslingers face without the robotic part it looks a bit like rory
