What did you Think of Asylum of The Daleks?

What did you Think of Asylum of The Daleks

The first episode of series 7a has finally aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average. Vote below.

Matt Smith returns as the oldest time-traveller in the universe. The Time Lord, Amy and Rory are kidnapped by their oldest foe the Daleks and forced on a seemingly impossible mission – to enter the Asylum, a planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of the deadly aliens’ kind.

From the official site…

Steven Moffat, Head Writer and Executive Producer, thanked fans and the press for keeping the secret:

“I hope you all got a nice surprise when Jenna popped up in Doctor Who several months early. If so, that surprise came to you courtesy of the frankly magnificent ladies and gentlemen of the press, and of the many Doctor Who forums and blogs too. This show has been seen at four separate screenings, across four different countries and yet not one person gave one spoiler. From all of us on Doctor Who, a heartfelt thank you for helping us tell our story.”

I loved the episode! I do have one nit-pick though…
Why did moffat let people bully him into bringing the bronzies back! I think the paradigm could have been great in this episode, and bringing the short teapots back just made it that one bit less scary. i don’t care if poeple don’t like the colours, you would have realised had he let there be a room of red drones.
Other than that, I loved the episode. The new companion looks great aswell, and I am getting a little tired of Amy’s ‘Generic Feistyness’.

I completely disagree with that. He made the Daleks terrifying which is something RTD never did.

I am annoyed with the use of classic Daleks. I only saw two!
But I think Steven Moffat has successfully made the Daleks SCARY.
I don’t now how the new companion appears in the episode. And if its the same person, how is she alive? And shes a dalek! I’m suprised that it took ages for any to turn into a a human one.
    6/10

Oh and did anyone else realise that the asylum daleks in intensive care didn’t have any exterminator guns so all they really could have done to the doctor was to suck the life out of him!

Steven Moffat is driving the series into the ground. He is becoming the next John Nathan Turner just like Lee Adams posted before. I’ve had enough of his over complicated story plots and random plot twists just for the sake of keeping people hooked on the show for the next 5 minutes. He’s going to stuff up the 50th Anniversary and the BBC should give him the sack before the show gets canceled like it did in the 80’s. The show has all the right actors and all the right fan support but the stories are letting the series down and so are Mr Moffat’s decisions. I would of thought that the late 80’s was a perfect example of what happens when you screw something like Doctor Who up which is exactly what Moffat has done. He wrote some good stories during the RTD era. The Empty Child, the Doctor Dances, the Girl in the fire place, Blink and not to forget Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead. They were all my favorite stories from that particular era of Doctor Who. Bring Russel T Davies back! Asylum of the Daleks is a perfect example of how to screw things up. So whos with me? That’s my daily rage face for today.

Maybe skaro escaped the time lock, plus things not answered, nswered this series,50th anniversary or series 8

    The first question
    The silence

    Tardis explosion
    Silents time ship
    Trenzalore
    Fall of the eleventh

Doctor Who just gets better and better!

Hopefully this ends up being another explosive Doctor Who year in America. Last year, the show was the best selling tv show on the American iTunes charts and helped make bbc America the fastest growing prime time and all day network compared to all other American networks.

The show has also come a long way in terms of visual and special effects since Steven Moffat took over.

Steven Moffat has made the show darker and more appealing. I can definatly say that this is by far the best Dalek episode of the revived series.

Finally, who agrees with me that since the Wedding of River Song, Steven Moffat has been effectively rebooting the last 50/1100 years of Doctor Who?

I liked the episode and glad the bronze daleks came back as I CAN’T STAND the new “rainbow race” but sort of confused how the bronze ones came back. Also was it dalek caan or some other weirdo???

I only believe in the actual epiodes as canon, and I think Skaro was fried and almost destroyed, but the Daleks probably had a forcefield that barely saved it, and probably created a second sun, being as clever as they are, and Daleks have hate and fear because Davros removed all other emotions when he created them

It probably wasn’t Sec, just another black Dalek

I believe that was the Supreme Council, and the Doctor was putting it in terms that Amy and Rory would understand better, and the human called it Prime Minister because that’s what she was familiar with. I believe the “Prime Minister” is the Emperor

DOC-TOR WHO?! This episode is fantastic, and replaced Remembrance of the Daleks as my most favorite story ever! My only problem is the lack of classic Daleks, but still, it doesn’t detract from the overall story in any way

The mystery of how she made the souffle and how she had the knowledge to hack daleks made her humanness a bit shady to me at first. And finally if you take a closer look at the shape of the room she was in, it was a dead giveaway that she is in a Dalek. I much preferred last season’s premiere

I found it rather disappointing. First off i found it very predictable that Souffle girl was a Dalek. Second, I didn’t like the fact that the dales were actually begging the doctor for help. It is just so not them. Third, the fact of rory and Amy wanting a divorce really surprised me because if the fact that they spent such a long time together, had a child together and rory waited for Amy for over 2000 years. Finally, I didn’t really understand why the daleks wanted to destroy the asylum. Don’t they promote hatred and want to exterminate all but themselves? And at the end they lose all memory of the doctor which just makes them going after him in future episodes pointless. Not your best work mr. Moffat.

Mmmm lots of daleks, a prime minister? Human daleks created by nano bots (the cybermen did that sort of thing in Real Time 6 dr audio so not new, the humans kept their humanity in that too) over all dalek stories are never in a linear order they are time travelers too, the chase (1st dr) showed that. ultimatley they stratgey obsessed, cold logic with cause and effect, they play the long game. i would suggest everyone listen to the dalek war audios and you’ll get where mr moffat is going with it. i think with the 50th comming up dr who is going to go with a full circle rather than an arcing story, we are going to end up in a scrap yard in 1963 next november offering a question to his first, ultimate and original incarnation “this is what you will become, it’s up to you”
