    I think it will be something alot more sinister like, “what’s your name” because the doctor has heard those words before, and river knows him name, but if she dies, she will not know.

    After the likes of “Silver Nemesis” and “Earthshock” I’d have expected the Cybermen to get a better story than this.

    I think “Stormageddon” will grow to be a powerful ally.

    Closing time was by far the best episode of the series! It was most entertaining, most intense and it had a lot of focus on the characters. I loved seeing the return of the cybermen and their lil chibi cybermats. AND IT WASNT OVERLY DARK! FINALLY! I CAN SEE IT! I look forward to episode 13. DALEKS ARE BACK!

    It is a shame that the Cybermen were used as the menace in this–they were very under used and to be honest it could have been almost any alien/creature/monster/robot instead. To shoe horn a classic Whovian enemy into such a limited role just wasn’t necessary.

    Matt Smith plays the Doctor as an alien superbly. Tennant is too good looking to have been completely convincing trying this sort of thing (although RTD never sought it from him), although Eccleston could probably have done it.

    Re the question, we are told in Let’s Kill Hitler that The Silence is a religious order that believes “silence will fall when the question is asked”. It is “the oldest question in the universe, hidden in plain sight”.

    My theory. The question is “Doctor Who ?”. It’s in plain sight, right in front of our noses, and it will be answered when he tells his name to River Song. Therefore The Silence want him dead before he can tell her.

    Everyone assumes that The Silence WANT silence to fall – maybe they don’t and think that killing the Doctor will stop it ?

    i dont think river dies cause she is in jail for killing him is she not?

  • Diane

    September 24th, 2011 - 10:33pm

    i think they will have to make that a version of the doctor does die to match up with the first episode, maybe that one dies and then there is another doctor or something happens after he dies to save him. Could it not just be that in the next seasons its the doctor at an earlier age and he does die??

    is it not just because they are both timelords?

  • timeisrunningout.

    September 24th, 2011 - 10:23pm

    i’ve just realised,
    they never talk about WHY river and the doctor’s timelines are back to front ?

    September 24th, 2011 - 10:12pm

    i think i might have worked something out

    think back to the liberary episode, river is attached to that chair, and say’s to the doctor ” you always knew i would be coming here, you knew when it was my time, my time to come to the libery”.

    he is with her til the end, but he doesn’t know her ?

    That he would be silent when he’s dead. When he is dead that is his silence.

  • doctorwho

    September 24th, 2011 - 10:07pm

    ” all the times i’ve heard them words i never realised it was my silence, my death ”

    the words are silence is falling..
    silence = death
    falling = happening

    they always are..
    even the last part of this episode looked emotional, with river being trapped in that spacesuit, underwater

    September 24th, 2011 - 10:05pm

    i’ve have looked at a spoiler page, and all of them end up wearing those eye patch’s,
    and yes of corse the doctor exscape’s because
    a) he has signed up for 2013.

    b) he is doing the christmas special

    c) it would have been a pointless series if he did die.

    and i think might escape by him either being a ganger, river killing herself to save him, or just the plan, kill the other people first.

    Closing time- an awesome piece of awesomeness with a lot of awesomeness!
    Matt Smiths acting was incredible and emotional the same goes to corden. I would have liked the cybermen to appear more but I can’t hate the episode just because of that. Smiths acting when he held stormy(ok Alfie then but Stormageddon or stormy is better)was incredibly moving. I cannot see tennant doing that because if he did stormys mouth would have been full of whiney rose tears. Next weeks looks…good no sorry rani it doesn’t look good no it looks…words cannot describe it.
