What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship?

What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The second episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo … of dinosaurs!

By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers, a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else on board who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

And the Doctor letting Solomon die is certainly hint towards the darker side the Doctor seems to adopt in A Twon Called Mercy. 🙂

Very funny, but, this episode should have been played as a jolly romp, as the tonally oposite merciless death of Solomon at the end, just felt wrong, considering the innuendo filled comedy romp with Dinosaurs we’ve just been watching! Very odd…. But, still, good performances, outstanding effects and suprisingly laugh out loud diolouge. 6/10

Out of the two episodes we have seen this series, this one was the best. by far.
Asylum of the Daleks was an extremely weak episode which was hyped way too much. This episode had very little hype and, in my personal opinion, was one of the best episodes since 2005. It’s definitely the best episode (so far) of the 11th Doctor.
I liked this episode so much because 1) a villain – Solomon – that i genuinely thought would get away with it. 2) the doctor is not acting like a child anymore. he’s not pratting around and we are seeing a much darker side to him, which i like. and 3) Rory’s dad was BRILLIANT! He should return.
10/10, much better than i expected and i liked the scaly Doctor Who logo in the opening credits. (i bet in episode 5 the logo will be made out of stone…)
Finally, the games hunter (riddel i think he was called – not sure though) The actor who plays him would be a brilliant Doctor i think.

    Thats my mini review.

    It really wasn’t that bad.

The dialogue was highly questionable, there is such a thing as too much innuendo. With adjustments to dialogue, this should have been on at 5.15 as it was definately for the children. Dull and boring. 3/10

i just cant believe how emotionally attached i got to a cg triceratops and yeah it was kind of a shock when that happened however i felt that Solomon got exactly what he deserved

Well I so nothing about her so, cool! Thats good to know. That just makes the episode more awsome! By the way, does anyone else think it was a bit riskey when he said “only my balls….. my golf balls”!

  • That Dinosaur over there

    September 8th, 2012 - 8:45pm

I didn’t mind it. It got a bit too silly at times, but I’ll forgive that if next week lives up to it’s dark premise. The scenes with the Doctor and Solomon were definitely the best, though. 🙂

Next week looks absolutely brilliant! I can’t wait! 😀

If I’m right, she did actually mysteriously dissapere during her reign. Doctor Who is just filling in the gaps in history!

it’s hard to compare with asylum of the daleks as it was a totally new idea. i thought it was really good. i was genuinely surprised! i think ep 1 had more action, but the characters were great. couple of things, i thought the villain was a bit weak, and there should have been a proper goodbye scene betweeen the doctor, and riddel and neferetiti. the beginning and the ends was a bit rushed. and the dinsaurs didnt do that much interacting with the doctor apart from the triceratops. plus points, amy was quite funny, music was great, acting was great, and there were some great scenes. cant wait till next week! i like the way he hinted about seeing amy till the end, it’s nice to have a little bit of a build up. anyone agree with anything i said?

Quite a fun episode, quite enjoyed it but one question.

Did the doctor actually just KILL someone? he never kills anyone. Only daleks and time lords it seems.

    loved it brlliant

only 2 bad things about this ep

    1. on the post card it was the wrong tardis

    2. im starting not to like how the doctor goes on 1 adventure with amy and rory and drops them back of a there house and then 10 months later thers another adverture

but apart from that loved it i voted it fantastic 🙂

I noticed that too. Also, when Queen whats her face was with the Games hunter at the end, how does she go back to egypt to continue her rule? But any way, I shouldn’t be so picky. It’s probably Wibbly wobbly timey wimmey! 😀 it was a great episode!

    September 8th, 2012 - 8:26pm

At the start I thought it was a little silly, but it became quiet good from then on! I liked it and rated it good on the poll. I wonder why the Doctor KILLED Soloman! I think he is getting darker while he is away from Amy and Rory. Anyway, I am looking forward to the Gunslinger, The next time trailer looks really cool!

    this episode was amazing!

only one picky thing: When amy and rory are looking at the post cards they put the siluria one on the fridge and it has a promotional imageof david tennants police box exterior

    apart from that 😀
