What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship?

What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The second episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo … of dinosaurs!

By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers, a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else on board who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

There aren’t many true classics, but what about the Doctor’s Wife? Surely that MUST go down as a classic?

It depends on your personal opinions really. Younger fans will love it because of the dinosaurs and some older ones will enjoy it for some comic relief in what looks to be quite a gloomy series.

I <b<LOVED this episode, only one thing dissapointed me though – one of the postcards at the end had the 9th/10th doctors TARDIS on it not 11th’s. However if this is the only thing i disliked then it must have been a brilliant episode! 😀 David Mitchell and Robert Webb were hillariou as the robots, and i love the golf ball joke in it!

this is IMPORTANT! When the doctor hugged Amy at the beginning of the episode he said ’10 Months’. What does that mean? 10 months until what? 10 months until she dies?

Otnumbered is certainly not in a minority – thre are plenty of fans, including myself who agree with that opinion, just possibly not on this forum which I think is really used by many younger fans. So don’t think you are alone Outnumbered as you are certainly not. The Moffat era has added nothing to the DW legacy apart from misjudged ideas (Teletubby daleks etc), bad design (the TARDIS). I can’t wait for the tell all book in 10years time which tells of the behind the scenes problems during this era!

I totaly agree Mat – the Smith era is devoid of true classics. I doubt that in 20 years time many will be remembered at all. Not like Genesis if the Daleks or Caves of Androzani or even Midnight or Stolen earth/Journeys end. The Moffat era just doesn’t add anything to the legacy apart from huge mistakes.

A bit of a improvement from last week, but was clever for a short time. It was really silly because of annoying robots and dinosaurs acting like dogs. Lack of dinosaurs too. 7/10 And Commander Strax has a new name! Mr Evil Fez!

I agree. The robots where too childish.

Well bothered me about it was Queen Nefertiti, she seems to not be bothered in asking what a spaceship is or anything as if it’s normal for a woman to see in ancient Egypt as it is for us in the modern world to see planes flying high above our heads in the sky.

Forgot to say, I did not like that horrid look they gave to the Doctor Who logo. I just don’t like the idea of changing it to suit the story, keep the logo plain and simple.

Whilst watching it, I knew something about it didn’t sit right. It just didn’t feel… appropriate after Asylum of the Daleks, and then it clicked – it all felt a bit too childish, it was very CBBCish and the innuendo felt completely out of place. It was all horribly rushed as well – the characters didn’t have time to develop, and anything that did develop just felt… faked. With an extra 10 or 15 minutes of running time, it could have been so much better, but it was great as it was. If you go into this episode after watching the Sarah Jane Adventures, then you’re certain to get something out of it, even if it’s a few cheap laughs.

I certainly did not expect that ship to belong to the Silurians, they kept that bit very quiet.

I didn’t think Silurians even had spaceships thou, as Ive always known them to have originated here on Earth and they ended up going into hibernation underground cos they thought the Earth was going to be hit by an asteroid or something, but turned out to be our Moon.

That’s quite harsh – especially compared to the weakness of The Hungry Earth…

I liked the Valeyard too, but I think the whole “The Valeyard’s coming” is going a bit too far – he isn’t the Doctor: He’s made from everything dark in the Doctor. And unless Matt Smith’s lying, in-between the 12 and 13th Doctor is a long way away.

  • The TARDIS

I was wondering about the RTD TARDIS, and I also think that Moffat should show us some “inbetween”adventures with the Doctor on his own – it stretched credibility that we only see the Doctors adventures every now and then as opposed to a series of them. When the Doctor said “I can’t forget the Ponds”, surely he’d say that every time! He’d want the Pond’s to see EVERYTHING. But yeah, I voted fantastic as well.

Their were problems with the episode but I found it enjoyable and the cast were brillint. The CGI on the dinosaurs sometimes did work and didn’t but if anyone has scene Invasion of The Dinosaurs the models were great but the movements are terrible but CGI dinosaurs I think people should be greatful about it and thats my opinion. My Rate 4/5
