What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship?

What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The second episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo … of dinosaurs!

By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers, a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else on board who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

For me, good drama, threat, and tackling an issue that is a problem in the world, with the piracy, were lost with awful comedy, too many characters that didn’t need to be in it and bland action sequences. This certainly not a pop at the writers, producers et al, just my own personal thoughts on this particular episode.

Actually the insignia says ISA ; as in India/ International Space Agency/Authority?

The personel also include an oriental looking woman and a woman in Islamic dress.

So maybe it’s supposed to be the most populated part of the planet (Asia) now very advanced economically and technologically and now in the driving seat of global affairs.

After all in the here and now both India and China harbour ambitions to have more of a presence in space.

    “Very emotive words, Doctor.”
“Oh, I’m a very emotive man.”

Quite possibly my favourite scene in the episode. Brilliant performances from Matt Smith and David Bradley.

it was better than episode one,the robots were very funny and i was supprised to know that robert webb and david mitchell were the voices of the robots. the dinosaurs were good and rory’s dad was funny too, can’t wait for his return in episode 4, episode 3… i’m not a fan of western type films and tv programmes but the cyborg looks like a good villan but really can’t wait for episode 5, like to see how that ends. 😀 8.5/10

It’s based in 2346 I think or 23__ something but yeah maybe they’re like the unit of the future or maybe the ship was coming towards india and so they too responsibility.

I agree. Also, if anyone learns anything from this show is that Amy needs to go.

Dinosaur’s On A Spaceship was not to my tastes at all. Terrible. One of the worst episodes.
A shame, as Asylum Of The Daleks was not too bad at all, and started the season off well……Such is life.

Nobody seems to be picking up on the fact that the missiles as part of Earth’s defence came seemingly from India.

The personel were all Indian & their uniform caps said IDF;as in India Defence Force?

Are we to infer in the time set that India is now the top dog in the world; i.e most powerful superpower also taking on the responsibility of Earth’s defence from percived attacks from space?

Or is it supposed to be a subtle reference to sending out things like call centres to other countries?

Esterath, have you really just listed A Town Called Mercy in your Matt Smith ‘classic’ list?? You cannot seriously call all of these ‘classic’ stories? I do think ‘The Doctor’s Wife’ is probably correct and apologies that it had slipped my mind, some are very good too like ‘The Girl Who Waited’ and ‘Time of Angels’, but. overall. I just feel so many of the Matt Smith stories are rushed, incoherent and forgettable.

Everyone should be a bit more savy by now about characters in sci-fi being necessarily killed off for good.

Dont be too suprised to ever learn if he somehow actually survived to tangle with the Doctor again.

am i the only one who hated this ep. it was silly and stupid. everyone has been saying it was great and funny. but dr who is not a comedy its a drama but steven moffat wants it to be a drama and comedy and thriller and romance and chick flick. its all packed in to one show and it makes its stupid. AND THE ROBOTS….NO JUST NO I COULD NOT WATCH AS IT MAGE ME CRIGE ALL THE WAY. i think its sad to say that it took russle t davis 6 years to build up what he did and it took steven moffat 2 years to take that way.

please reply i want to know what u think.

Well I give it a 7/10. Not as good as Asylum (which I would give a 9/10), but still pretty good. 🙂

im starting not to like how the doctor goes on 1 adventure with amy and rory and drops them off and in ten months they go on an other adventure and then the doctor drops them back off at home i wish they just stayed together in the tardis

    she possessed by the doctor

not that long add up all the clues

across david tennant era,the doctor was lonely,a god and had fury of a time lord,he was described as a destroyer of worlds an killed daleks and time lords and never carries guns.

time lord victorius, the doctor believes he can change fixed points, waters of mars

matt smith era he carries guns

the dreamlord is a hint at the valeyard, the dreamlord is the darker side plus we saw him in a reflection hinting he may return

the pandorica opens,we have the doctor as a wizard and god

he also kills whole races the silents, cybermen.

a good man goes to war,he is a warrior, this is the same as the pandorica opens

lets kill hitler, river says he can’t understand war or something and is peaceful, but he is not

then in the god complex,we have room 11 worst fear, most likely himself,he is too powerful

in the closing time and wedding of river song the doctor says he has lived too long and is too powerful

then we get the silence who fear the doctor answering the question at trenzalore, his true identity this seems to hint at something so terrible to happen, the valeyard could be that as he is terrible

then we get in series 7

the doctor’s mercy and dark side, killing soloman.

    possibly more in atcm

all of this is about the doctors dark side in the end at trenzalore, when he is forced to answer the question,i think it will do something to form the valeyard or dream lord again.this will then see the doctor regenrate into his 12th form

when the doctor is in his 12th form eventually the valeyard will get powerful and appear somewhere near the 12th and 13th regenration.

the question is said to be a terrible event, focusing on the doctor being too powerful,so it has to be connected to the valeyard.

that is evidence, there is alot more as well like sylvester mccoy was darker and christopher ecclestone, this darkness and destruction will form the valeyard,or dream lord.

No she was a bit weird, she gave short quick sentences and was very fast a bit like Matt and she seemed to know what she was doing in terms of “pressing buttons” which isn’t realyy Amy.

they need it all to keep it going else it runs out and characters have nothing to say then it will only be 10 minutes long
