What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship?

What did you Think of Dinosaurs On A Spaceship

The second episode of series 7a has aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo … of dinosaurs!

By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers, a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else on board who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo.

Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was a really good episode, with the supporting charatcers of –
    Queen Nefertiti
    John Riddell
    Soloman
    Tricy
    Brian Williams
    Robots
The only ‘bad’ supporting character or characters for this episode was of course the robots who had absolutly no meaning in this episode but to – be annoying, get shouted at, shoot at the Doctor, yell, have hissy fits and kill Tricy only to be really badly cast off at the end, the revealing of the ship being a Silurian Ship was good continuity, and the comedy in the episode was amazing it was one of the funniest Doctor who episodes ever! Tricy was an amazing touch to the episode and when he died Chibnall nearly made me cry, i actually kinda did, the dinosaurs in the episode were amazing and the Veliocerators at the end wer amazing. Rupert Graves did an excellent job at acting Riddell even though he didn’t do to much, David Bradley was amazing as Soloman, Mark Williams was absolutly stunning as Brian and Riann Steele was great at acting Nefertiti.
Overall I rate this episode 8/10, the only thing letting it down was the robots and the quick cast off of the Robots.

I’m loving the look and feel of the new series BUT the annoying background music spoils it for me 🙁

I’ve actually enjoyed both of them so far. I thought ‘Asylum…’ was a good Dalek story (apart from the Rory/Amy side-plot) and didn’t really jar too much with established mythology (certainly no more than any classic series Dalek episodes) and ‘Dinosaurs…’ was a solid, fun episode although ultimately forgettable in the grand scheme.

Can’t wait to see the back of Amy and River – last season just revolved too much around them – but I’d keep Rory, especially if his dad came along!

I’m only arguing against you listing ‘A Town Called Mercy’ as a classic episode because it hasn’t even been shown yet – how have you based your opinion on it?

But RTD has literally nothing to do with Doctor Who anymore beside Torchwood and the now canceled Sarah Jane Smith adventures due to the unexpected death of Elizebeth Sladen. May she rest in peace. I know that Steven Moffat says that he’s planning something big but you can never be too sure… If I was the head Writer and Exec producer of Dr Who I would definitely bring the Valeyard back. It’s an established point in Doctor Who’s history and can’t just be forgotten. I love the classic series and jump in joy when they show clips from it!

The Doctor was performing very out of character when he left Soloman to die. Although it could be leading up to the whole thing of the Valeryard/Dream Lord returning.

I both agree and disagree. So far a lot of Moffat’s episodes have gotten on my nerves. They’re too damn complicated. Although every now and then there will be a good episode.

I believe that ALL the stories I listed are classics. It’s my opinion.

it because there embargoed until that date (the 11th in this case) so everyone puts them up just after midnight

I agree – I wish they wouldn’t do this on nights when people need to be up early. Weekdays are hardly practical in that respect.

New picture of A Town Called Mercy at midnight! They really shouldn’t be doing this on a school night! 🙁
