Pretty good, kinda complex I guess, shame missy wasn’t back on gallifrey with the doctor, nice depart for clara and alternative tardis was cool,a fun finale to the series.
Just thinking- if Clara goes off on her own adventures and gets into trouble, what happens if she is mortally wounded? Does she die? Is she still brought back to gallifrey – is she immortal and can’t die like captain jack?
I thought this episode was a very good way to finish this fantastic series. There were a lot of good things about this episode. The first few minutes were really good and show the doctors character very well like how he is not violent and why you shouldn’t get him angry. This episode shows how far the doctor will go to save someone. A lot of people would properly say this episode was confusing and I agree but if it was too simple it would be boring. Now that the Galifrey has been sorted out I really hope the series finds another interesting storyline.
So I think this episode was confusing and there were a few small problems like is Galifrey in another dimension or is it back in the universe but that didn’t ruin the episode for me so I think this is one of the best series finals in the new series. Like caves of androzani it doesn’t have lots of action like an army of daleks but it shows how far the doctors character will go.
I think this episode will be remembered as “the one were the doctor returns to Galifrey” or “the one were Clara finally leaves”

A few issues with this episode but all in all I enjoyed it.
Didn’t get the big issue about Clara dying and why the Doctor had to try so hard to save her, considering every other version of her he ever met, died as well. She is still in his timeline so, by rights, she should at least pay a quick visit to every version of the doctor in the future.
He should know this.
Heres hoping Me never makes another appearance, didn’t rate the character at all. And what they hell was the idea of having the two of them fly off in a Tardis about, no need for that at all. Was Moffat trying to go for a Thelma and Louise type thing there?
What the hell is all that with a man regenerating into a woman. I’ve kinda let the Missy one slip by as its done and can’t be undone. But a second time is too much. Someone take away Moffats keyboard before he does it with the Doctor.
On the flip side, loved the return of the Sonic Driver. The whole popping out of the console and flying into his hand, very Jedi!
Christmas episode looks like it’s gonna be a blast.
Agree about man regenerating into woman. Obviously to create a precedent for the Doctor to become a woman. I have nothing against strong female lead characters in shows. Just not the Doctor please. I’ve known him for over 50 yrs and I don’t want him to turn into a woman. The Master has had do do some pretty drastic things in order to regenerate in the past so I think as a one-off it’s understandable but as a normal feature of Time Lord regeneration? No thanks.
Never liked the sonic much. It started as a ‘get out of jail free card’ to open doors for the Doctor so as not to hold up the plot action but eventually became a shortcut for lazy writing and, for recent Doctors, even morphed into a weapon, which makes the line in this episode about the Doctor using no weapons sound a bit hollow.

Ashidr…….. A shi (e) Dr. The Doctor is immortal. He goes outside to meet Me. Yes or No?
I should have said this on my original comment earlier this morning, but what – a – NERVE the Doctor and the Time Lord’s have in banishing Rassilon from Gallifrey.
Serious – RASSILON !! . . . . the first Time Lord, regarded as the single greatest figure in Time Lord history, the man who practically gave them the Eye of Harmony which the source of all their great powers, and perhaps even gave them the ability to regenerate, have the privaliage of traveling not only through space, but time as well !!.
How could they do that to him ?. The least they could have done would have been to replace him as Lord President and tell him to live back in his Dark Tower Tomb in the Death Zone rather then leave Gallifrey altogether.
Seriously, having the Doctor and them telling Rassilon to leave Gallifrey would be like having me telling the Queen and the entire Royal Family to pack their bags and go live in India and to never return.
Shame on the Doctor and all Time Lords, the ungreatful so and so’s after all his done for them.
He did trap The Doctor for four billion years, I’d be pretty mad too 😆 I think he got what he deserved but maybe they could have just replaced him.

Also the Doctor blames Rassilon and the council for the Time War and for that alone they deserve being kicked off Galifrey.
There is an old saying that suites this situation “absolute power corrupts absolutely ” The doctor even said at one stage Rassilon was a good man once. I think he got of lightly, they should have put him in front of the firing squad.
Rassilon returning from exile would certainly make a good story arc down the road, especially if he was to link up with Missy/the Master.

Does anyone remember this from season 4?
River: You know when you see a photograph of someone you know, but it’s from years before you knew them. It’s like they’re not quite finished; they’re not done yet. Well, yes, the Doctor’s here. He came when I called just like he always does, but not “my” Doctor. Now, my Doctor, I’ve seen whole armies turn and run away, and he’d just swagger off back to his TARDIS and open the doors with a snap of his fingers. The Doctor in the TARDIS. Next stop: everywhere.
The Doctor: Spoilers! Nobody can open the TARDIS by snapping their fingers. It doesn’t work like that.
River: It does for the Doctor.
The Doctor: I am the Doctor.
River: Yeah. Someday.
This is the most hilarious comment I have ever read!

Such a shame that this family sci-fi show is no longer aimed at the family. Unfortunately it’s not aimed at kids anymore, the storylines and the time slot etc. I enjoyed this series but I was born in the 70s. My 7 year old declared part way through this series that he doesn’t like Dr Who anymore, and I find that a real shame.

This is supposed to be a family show.
Not a show with such a complicated plot that only a super fan can follow it.
It thought Steven Moffat was great but now I think he is losing the plot ( or simply over complicating it )

The doctor gently weeping out ‘claras theme for the last time as she slipped out of the diner into the ‘classic’ console roomwas touching and poignant and could feel myself welling up a bit I have to admit. Even though clara was unable to change her point of death at least it ended on amore optimistic note leaving us with the notion that she and ashildr are off having many unseen adventures on their way back to gallifrey ( Theres a potential Big Finish spin off there.) So sad to see the doctor on his own without her with no recollection other than those decorative reminders on the TARDIS exterior which blew away during dematerialisation. Farewell clara Oswald you,ll be greatly missed.

I know. He was his own version of Rassilon whilst still being arrogant & egocentric. I feel there could be more to come from one angry & powerful timelord founder.
Just had a thought. We still don’t know who or what GUS was in the mummy ep. It’s been bugging me. G for Gallifrey perhaps?
I don’t know, I found him quite unimpressive, he just came across as angry and didn’t really do anything interesting with the part. You got the sense that they couldn’t afford Timothy Dalton anymore which seemed a little sad, but maybe I’m judging too harshly and he wasn’t available. The CGI was pretty spectacular which would suggest a fair amount of dosh.

Best and most consistent series of the revival. Hell Bent was an amazing, intricate, exciting finale and I loved it so much.
The episode was great but I was a bit disappointed that The Doctor didn’t seem like Gallifrey was away or he wasn’t even upset to see it again after all this time. Also I’m glad Clara got to live in the end and the whole plot was a bit to confusing for me but it was great to see Gallifrey even though it wasn’t really in the episode that much. But its still a great episode.
What a let down! Seriously, Moffat, you had one chance to make people like you again, and you blew it! The Time Lords were hardly in it, Clara’s back, Missy isn’t, where’s Rassilon, why was the Doctor going to die, what the hell is going on with a TARDIS the shape of a diner? That means that, in the Impossible Astronaut, the 11th Doctor ‘popped out to get his special straw’, by going into a TARDIS control room he’d never seen, and come out without noticing!
“where’s rassilon?” er, he was played by donald sumpter. he even said his name!

When was the doctor going to die? Why should missy come back she would have nothing to do with the story line. “What the hell is going in with a tardis the shape of a diner?” You could say the same about the police box. The time lords were in the episode for the majority of the episode. After the other time lords chose the doctor, he had Rassilons power over gallifrey and exciled rassilon because the doctor blamed him for the time war.

I’d have thought TD Rassilon regenerated in the same scrap which caused the JS Master’s regeneration into Missy. Last we saw they were a bit cross with each other. Could be wrong but that had a “to the death” vibe.
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 4:46pm
Remember also that time lines have been changed from the events of The End Of Time because of events in the DOTD.
Gallifrey is no longer time locked in a final war that would result in it’s destruction and lead to TD Rassilon’s Time Lords survival strategy by their becoming non corporeal while the rest of the universe was left to burn from the contradictions created by unlocking the Time War.
So I think that can imply the showdown between the Master and Rassilon now never happened and TD Rassilon just naturally regenerated into Donald Sumpter Rassilon and the Master independently regenerated into Missy. (But it’s all non canon supposition until told otherwise). Otherwise the Master would still be caught in the same Time War time lock as the Time Lords on Gallifrey.

The Doctor was apparently going to die in The Magician’s Apprentice, which is why he has the confession dial. That sub-plot was never rapped up. And I’d hoped we’d have seen John Simm-Michelle Gomez’s regeneration, instead of the General’s pointless one.
And the fact that no-one knows how this Rassilon came to be shows that the story does have several massive plot holes.

There’s 2 options but it depends at what point the time war history was altered. Either;
1 the doctor changed the outcome of the time war it looks like rasilon never regenerated into dalton. This would mean dotd took place before the 10th died.
2 or dotd did happen after the end of time aand dalton naturally regenerated into the new rassilon p- this could have been through fighting the master or natural or something else
A
December 7th, 2015 - 4:22pm
My understanding is that time war history did not change, the Doctor simply did not remember choosing not to use the Moment due to regenerating & the after effect of the crossed timeline with his future selves. I thought the high council ( mentioned as having their own plans in DOTD) were attempting to change existence AT THE SAME TIME as the Doctors were placing Gallifrey into a parallel dimension. Rassilon failed & the Master went through the rift just as the Doctors removed Gallifrey, the Daleks ended up firing on themselves making it appear that both sides and the planet were destroyed, leading the partially amnesiac 9th Doctor to think he had used the Moment. The 11th wasn’t even sure the plan had worked until he went to Trenzalore. The end of time still happened.
The name of the Doctor, however, is now a paradox unless the Doctor will still die for the last time on Trenzalore. Given the alternative is to become some kind of undead computer program on Gallifrey, he might prefer that.
The Moffat Paradox
December 7th, 2015 - 10:28pm
The General of Gallifrey said in DOTD that the High Council’s plans had “already failed” whether or not that refers to the events in TEOT.Moffat might have made that more explicit in any event so there was no room for conjecture. Then they were discussing using the last of the banned ancient Galiifreyan weapons from the Omega arsenal; the Galaxy Eater or the Moment before they learned the War Doctor had already taken possession of it.

1) ‘Bad Wolf’ / ‘The Parting of the Ways’ 10/10
2) ‘The Stolen Earth’ / ‘Journey’s End’ 10/10
3) ‘The Name of the Doctor’ 10/10
4) ‘The Pandorica Opens’ / ‘The Big Bang’ 9/10
5) ‘Army of Ghosts’ / ‘Doomsday’ 8/10
6) ‘The Wedding of River Song’ 7/10
7) ‘Heaven Sent’ / ‘Hell Bent’ 6/10
8) ‘Utopia’ / ‘The Sound of Drums’ / ‘Last of the Time Lords’ 6/10
9) ‘Dark Water’ / ‘Death in Heaven’ 5/10
I couldn’t agree more with your ranking, parting of the ways is the best thing ever and I doubt anything could top it easily. bits of hell bent were really good, and we finally know much more about the time lords (eg, what typical time lord transport looks like). but its weight was completely compromised when the episode decided to focus on extracting Clara just before her death – and the fact that she just ‘escaped’ without any consequence whatsoever was really annoying. at least Russel T’s doctor who took itself seriously.

Too many characters in the RTD and SM era’s have come back from the brink! Captain Jack dies but survives, The Doctor’s daughter Jenny dies but survives, Rory dies countless times but survives, Clara dies but survives…Even the Brig survives as a CyberBrig!!! I’m sorry, but this is undermining the Timelord ability to survive by regeneration. It now doesn’t seem unique at all! Viewers just won’t care if an important character gets killed off. It will have NO emotional impact, as they will no doubt return in a few episodes, however unlikely that may seem. It’s actually now getting more predictable. This didn’t happen to the likes of Katarina, Sara Kingdom or Adric in the classic series. Once gone…they were gone…and some better forgotten. Doctor Who is now grounded in Sci-Fi and Fantasy, not Sci-Fi and Reality. It’s the ‘anything goes’ approach of Moffat, and if the Doctor has the easy ability to go back over his won timestreams or reboot the universe, then why do we bother having any stories at all. It completely undermines the drama and what’s at stake. Doctor Who needs to be grounded in some reality, if only to have some sanity.

Indeed. Moffat is letting the show come to an end. As it’s only a matter of time that the Doctor goes back in time to his earliest incarnation, before he left Gallifrey with Susan, and tells his former original self (Hartnell), not to bother going on any adventures, and stay on Gallifrey! Therefore, everything of the last 50 odd years never happened.

Very VERY disappointed that Gallifrey was not freed from the parallel pocket universe to end this series . . . . or is is free ?? . . . . I don’t know . . . . the Doctor said to Davros early in series 9 that Gallifrey is back in the sky and is safe, but I assumed he was lying about that [rule 1: the Doctor lies], but if Gallifrey actually is back in the real universe, then how, when and where is it ?.
Not pleased with the War General regenerating into a woman. That’s gonna make fan’s who want a female Doctor so badly more irritating then ever [Cheer’s Moffat 😛 ]
Only positive things I can say about this last episode of series 9 is I’m pleased Clara was given the chance to live in the end, even if it seems she herself is now immortal too and stuck with blooming irritating Ashildr, but hey, at least she gets to travel in a fully functioning Tardis of her own with a nice copy of the original 1st Doctor’s 1963 console room, so I can’t complain about that.
I swear thou that Peter Capaldi once said that his cameo from ‘The Day of the Doctor’ was going to be seen in this episode. Guess he must have lied, probably persuaded by Moffat to do so.
I know right, so many plotholes. They explicitly stated that Gallifrey was in a “pocket universe” after the Day of the Doctor. The ENTIRE PLOT of the Time of the Doctor was the Time Lords trying to communicate with our universe through the Crack in time, how the hell are they now here, how did the Sisterhood of Karn just walk in, have they always known that Gallifrey was now somehow in our universe, why haven’t they told the Doctor – all such lazy writing, such a lack of continuity on Moffat’s part, he wrote the 50th and the Time of the Doctor as well!!!
A
December 6th, 2015 - 12:54pm
One can only assume that at the end of the DOTD the timelords realised it was not safe to return as the Doctor did not speak his name. They probably became impatient & decided to bypass the dangers of the universe by returning at a point in time when the universe was nearly over & there were little or no threats left. It’s implied throughout the episode.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 1:57pm
Also why are people so threatened by the idea of a female Doctor? I’d have thought it would depend, like the male ones, on the casting & writing. Or is that just me being gender indifferent to quality talent?
As for Karn, maybe they weren’t as despised as the timelords. If Gallifrey was in the same PLACE in space, Karn was nearby & could have still been there when the timelords returned. Neither the timelords nor the sisterhood are particularly keen to share information when they don’t have to. D’ya think they would hurtle off to find the Doctor when they didn’t need him?
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 2:54pm
Want to discuss plotholes. What about Clara and Ashilda flying off in their own Tardis when it’s been established in classic canon that ONLY a Gallifreyan can do that.(Or unassisted.)Theres supposed to be a symbiotic circuit that permits non Gallifreyans to be companions or Tardis a.i. views them as an infestation.Unless it’s been deactivated.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 3:25pm
1.A Tardis stolen from the repair shop? It could have all sorts of faults.
2. River may be partially timelord, technically, but she’s in no way Gallifreyan.
3. At least one of the Clara fragments was Gallifreyan. Maybe that was enough to confuse the defenses. She remembers some of that, implying all the memories are there.
4. Tardises are sentient. Maybe this one likes Clara, unlike the Doctor’s. Maybe she’s intrigued by having two improbably immortal crew members. Maybe she’s as bored as the Doctor’s Tardis was.

Capaldi’s cameo could possibly be in the Christmas Special?
Couldn’t agree more! I was happy that they finally moved away from the whole personal factor (though I guess some people will argue that that was the strength of the episode). I don’t like how Moffat and Co. always walk over every single established rule, as if NOTHING mattered… At least the previous doctors had a notion of consequence to their actions. How can Clara fly around for another billion years if her death is the only thing that can heal the universe? Isn’t she causing the death of millions, just by existing longer? Why do they never explain anything and just make up fancy stuff?

It’s Moffat! He’s writing this series like fan fiction. Ratings HAVE gone down this series. On a Saturday night it can’t even beat the likes of ‘Pointless Celebrities’ in the ratings! This is a show now being made more for the core fanbase. The General viewer (and even some of the fans) find it too convoluted and couldn’t care less about what’s happening on screen. Part of the problem is Moffat can’t seem to keep characters dead. So any initial impact of a characters demise is ruined by a ‘get out of jail free card’ later on! It’s getting predictable and tiresome. It actually diminishes the Doctor’s own unique ability to live on endlessly by regeneration, as any old tom, dick, harry or clara can go on…and on …and on. It’s only a good job Moffat wasn’t around during season 19…Otherwise we’d still have Adric!

Incredible. Moffat knocked it out of the park and has opened the door to years of Clara/Ashildr spinoffs too. I was worried but I needn’t have been.
If the Hybrid stands in the ruins of Gallifrey then it could be Me or the Doctor as I think they are in the ruins of the cloister at the end of time. However, the Doctor may well have broken a billion hearts to mend his own by eventually turning on his people, even to the point of murder. It seems many on Gallifrey considered him the hero of the time war & they may feel more than a little let down.
Forgetting Clara was probably the best for the Doctor & the universe. For all that she saved him as the impossible girl his reliance on her was obviously somewhat destructive. I’m keen to see how & why this Doctor will choose to travel with another companion. He’s not very good at making friends & two potential companions from series 8 have been ruled out in this series(Rigsy has a child to raise & Osgood has a peace to keep). Hopefully it’ll be someone new.
I have mixed feelings about this series. Two parters are all well and good but I’m not sure I liked virtually the whole series being in that format. I was a little disconcerted by the Doctor’s efforts to be more socially acceptable yet it was quite fun at times. The build up to Gallifrey felt, at the close,a little underused but was interesting while it lasted. I even missed the ever changing hair of PC from last year, especially Flatline!
So now we have spent two years under the shadow of Clara’s departure, hopefully next year there will be more focus on the Doctor and the stories.
I think that two parters are definitely the way to go. When there is a plot worth pursuing, this format gives it time to develop, rather like the classic era four parters.
Wish we could all forget Clara.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 1:36pm
I’m not against occasional two parters I just don’t necessarily like having so many. As for the classic stuff, there was an element of annoying and unnecessary ‘perils’ to serve as cliff hangers. This was driven a little by the shorter run times, I suppose, but even so it could be a bit jarring, especially when watching the story as a whole on dvd.
As for forgetting Clara, tru dat. Jenna was great but the character was so annoying.

DD
December 7th, 2015 - 12:16pmAgree about man regenerating into woman.

December 6th, 2015 - 4:34pmI should have said this on my original comment earlier this morning, but what – a – NERVE the Doctor and the Time Lord’s have in banishing Rassilon from Gallifrey.
Trenzalore
December 6th, 2015 - 5:14pmHe did trap The Doctor for four billion years, I’d be pretty mad too 😆 I think he got what he deserved but maybe they could have just replaced him.
mick181
December 6th, 2015 - 10:43pmAlso the Doctor blames Rassilon and the council for the Time War and for that alone they deserve being kicked off Galifrey.

Someday.

December 6th, 2015 - 9:43pmSuch a shame that this family sci-fi show is no longer aimed at the family. Unfortunately it’s not aimed at kids anymore, the storylines and the time slot etc. I enjoyed this series but I was born in the 70s. My 7 year old declared part way through this series that he doesn’t like Dr Who anymore, and I find that a real shame.

December 6th, 2015 - 11:22pmI agree with Sid rat.
This is supposed to be a family show.
Not a show with such a complicated plot that only a super fan can follow it.
It thought Steven Moffat was great but now I think he is losing the plot ( or simply over complicating it )

December 6th, 2015 - 2:12pmThe doctor gently weeping out ‘claras theme for the last time as she slipped out of the diner into the ‘classic’ console roomwas touching and poignant and could feel myself welling up a bit I have to admit.

December 6th, 2015 - 3:06pmI know.
[email protected]
December 6th, 2015 - 5:39pmI don’t know, I found him quite unimpressive, he just came across as angry and didn’t really do anything interesting with the part. You got the sense that they couldn’t afford Timothy Dalton anymore which seemed a little sad, but maybe I’m judging too harshly and he wasn’t available. The CGI was pretty spectacular which would suggest a fair amount of dosh.

December 6th, 2015 - 5:58pmAs someone who watches Game of Thrones, (even though I think Season 5 was dreadful), it is sort of nice to see the Stark’s Maester Luwin (played by Donald Sumpter) in the same episode as Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

December 6th, 2015 - 12:45pmThe episode was great but I was a bit disappointed that The Doctor didn’t seem like Gallifrey was away or he wasn’t even upset to see it again after all this time. Also I’m glad Clara got to live in the end and the whole plot was a bit to confusing for me but it was great to see Gallifrey even though it wasn’t really in the episode that much. But its still a great episode.

December 6th, 2015 - 11:08amWhat a let down!

December 6th, 2015 - 1:18pmWhen was the doctor going to die? Why should missy come back she would have nothing to do with the story line. “What the hell is going in with a tardis the shape of a diner?” You could say the same about the police box. The time lords were in the episode for the majority of the episode. After the other time lords chose the doctor, he had Rassilons power over gallifrey and exciled rassilon because the doctor blamed him for the time war.
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 1:20pmPresumably Rassilon had regenerated from the Timothy Dalton incarnation.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 2:11pmI’d have thought TD Rassilon regenerated in the same scrap which caused the JS Master’s regeneration into Missy. Last we saw they were a bit cross with each other. Could be wrong but that had a “to the death” vibe.
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 4:46pmRemember also that time lines have been changed from the events of The End Of Time because of events in the DOTD.

And the fact that no-one knows how this Rassilon came to be shows that the story does have several massive plot holes.
whorules
December 6th, 2015 - 6:40pmthe doctor thought he was going to die in magicians apprentice because he was going to see davros. he didn’t think missy and clara would be there to save him/make him save himself.

December 7th, 2015 - 12:49amThere’s 2 options but it depends at what point the time war history was altered. Either;
A
December 7th, 2015 - 4:22pmMy understanding is that time war history did not change, the Doctor simply did not remember choosing not to use the Moment due to regenerating & the after effect of the crossed timeline with his future selves.
December 7th, 2015 - 10:28pmThe General of Gallifrey said in DOTD that the High Council’s plans had “already failed” whether or not that refers to the events in TEOT.Moffat might have made that more explicit in any event so there was no room for conjecture. Then they were discussing using the last of the banned ancient Galiifreyan weapons from the Omega arsenal; the Galaxy Eater or the Moment before they learned the War Doctor had already taken possession of it.

December 6th, 2015 - 1:56pmI couldn’t agree more with your ranking, parting of the ways is the best thing ever and I doubt anything could top it easily. bits of hell bent were really good, and we finally know much more about the time lords (eg, what typical time lord transport looks like). but its weight was completely compromised when the episode decided to focus on extracting Clara just before her death – and the fact that she just ‘escaped’ without any consequence whatsoever was really annoying. at least Russel T’s doctor who took itself seriously.
Peking Homunculus
December 7th, 2015 - 5:19amRussell’s Doctor Who took itself more seriously? I’m sorry, but the Slitheen and the Talking Rhinos(Judoon) beg to differ. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Judoon.
On top of that, Rose got brought back in series 4, which kinda kills the over emotional ending of series 2.
Tim M
December 7th, 2015 - 8:48amToo many characters in the RTD and SM era’s have come back from the brink!

Completely agree. Barry Letts once said that if the Doctor gained control of his TARDIS then the show would be over or words to that effect. I think he was pretty close to being right.
Tim M
December 8th, 2015 - 3:54pmIndeed.
Jason [Doctor Who One] from Deviant Art
December 6th, 2015 - 7:10amVery VERY disappointed that Gallifrey was not freed from the parallel pocket universe to end this series . . . . or is is free ?? . . .
Guess he must have lied, probably persuaded by Moffat to do so.
starshipalaska
December 6th, 2015 - 10:47amI know right, so many plotholes.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 12:54pmOne can only assume that at the end of the DOTD the timelords realised it was not safe to return as the Doctor did not speak his name. They probably became impatient & decided to bypass the dangers of the universe by returning at a point in time when the universe was nearly over & there were little or no threats left. It’s implied throughout the episode.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 1:57pmAlso why are people so threatened by the idea of a female Doctor? I’d have thought it would depend, like the male ones, on the casting & writing. Or is that just me being gender indifferent to quality talent?
As for Karn, maybe they weren’t as despised as the timelords. If Gallifrey was in the same PLACE in space, Karn was nearby & could have still been there when the timelords returned. Neither the timelords nor the sisterhood are particularly keen to share information when they don’t have to. D’ya think they would hurtle off to find the Doctor when they didn’t need him?
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 2:54pmWant to discuss plotholes.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 3:25pm1.A Tardis stolen from the repair shop? It could have all sorts of faults.
2. River may be partially timelord, technically, but she’s in no way Gallifreyan.
3. At least one of the Clara fragments was Gallifreyan. Maybe that was enough to confuse the defenses. She remembers some of that, implying all the memories are there.
4. Tardises are sentient. Maybe this one likes Clara, unlike the Doctor’s. Maybe she’s intrigued by having two improbably immortal crew members. Maybe she’s as bored as the Doctor’s Tardis was.
The Moffat Paradox
December 6th, 2015 - 4:03pmOf course as far as defences go Tardis a.i./sentience may correctly judge there would be no point when their immortal anyway.

December 6th, 2015 - 4:33pmCouldn’t agree more!
Mr Nobody
December 6th, 2015 - 5:58pmIt’s Moffat!

December 6th, 2015 - 1:42amLoved the ending and neatly pulled together the Clara ending. PC great acting and best series finale for a while.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 12:41amIf the Hybrid stands in the ruins of Gallifrey then it could be Me or the Doctor as I think they are in the ruins of the cloister at the end of time.
DD
December 6th, 2015 - 11:59amI think that two parters are definitely the way to go. When there is a plot worth pursuing, this format gives it time to develop, rather like the classic era four parters.
Wish we could all forget Clara.
A
December 6th, 2015 - 1:36pmI’m not against occasional two parters I just don’t necessarily like having so many.
