What Did You Think of The Day of the Doctor?

The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special.

In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him.

For myself personally it wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to be. There were parts that were good and other parts that didn’t meet expectation. I preferred the classic Zygons to the modern take on the monsters personally. I loved Tom Baker’s involvement and John Hurt was a likeable Doctor.

Yeah… but… how did they avoid the time lock?

maybe after or during finding his home again and completing all his journeys, he’ll somehow receive the genes of the other, will have infinite regeneration but will decide to stay in 4th doctor’s shape and will become a curator on earth with his family:))

So… That was really good, but I’m a little bit confused about John Hurt’s doctor. The way that they talked about him in the show made it sound like he WAS the 9th Doctor. And now there’s 13 doctors (with no. 12), so… Is he the Doctor, or is he like doctor 8.5 or something? Because they didn’t count the watcher as a doctor, (4.5) or the Valeyard, (12.5) so if John Hurt is being counted as the doctor, shouldn’t there be 15 doctors? Well who knows, in my eyes there’s 11 main Doctors, and the 3 half doctors.

Well I think this comment is way too long, so thank you Steven Moffat for the 50th, and the rest of the BBC of course, Happy 50th anniversary everyone and I wish you all a very good night! 🙂

I’m colossally confused. I’ve seen every Dr. Who episode possible to see, and this special just ripped holes in the reality of Doctor Who. I won’t say it was bad, if you don’t know a lot about the series I guess it would seem pretty awesome, but it just didn’t make sense. It more of less destroys past story line, making it irreverent, or even worse, non-existent. Lets just hope the Christmas Special redeems it.

Don’t worry Doctor Who, I will still follow you through all time and space, I’m just a little perplexed.

I loved the 13 TARDISes, swarming like anti-Daleks, showing that millions of Daleks are no match for 13 shades of TARDIS blue!

Just been down to Eastbourne to see it in 3D, what a fantastic atmosphere and story. It has given a new stimulus to the legend with many new stories to be had, what a great opportunity for the new Dr. to come..

the only question i have is how the 4th doctor is there even though he regenerated from that body to the next a long time ago(for the curator doctor). Apart from that i loved it

That. Was. Amazing. I have so many questions. But the one thing I enjoyed the most was the daleks having killed themselves via friendly fire.

Really really enjoyable…and he is going home…the long way round.
Don’t know if I ever want to see an end..!!

Evrything was perfect(if we don’t start to think about millions of chaoses created in one episode only) but Clara’s comment about the doctor’s phases as”universe is full of warriors and any ordinary man can become a hero…” was like undervalueing the 10th doctor or i’m being sinister, i don’t know.

But I don’t understand the order of events? Did the End of Time happen before this? And when was the No More painting taken?

I don’t think Gallifrey is back as such but it is somewhere now the Doctor has to find it which will probably be a long but interesting story arc for the 13th Doctor (Peter Capaldi I mean because I guess that’s what we have to call him now)

Absolutely loved it but I thought the time war was time locked that’s why Dalek Caan went mad. Also how did Clara get out of the time stream from the end of series 7? Christmas preview was just…..oh my god….just no…. My mind was blown….

  • Cbc

    November 23rd, 2013 - 9:51pm

Loved it. 3d was very good too. Being able to actually see that the paintings were bigger on the inside was fantastic.

OMG! Straight from the start i was hooked! I loved the way Clara is a teacher at the same school Susan originally went to, I can’t really put into words how blown away i am and from the look of it im not the only one!
Tom Baker said her wasn’t taking part (you little liar! lol) nice to see an aged 4th even if for a cameo.
    Steven Moffat you genius! 😀

    November 23rd, 2013 - 9:44pm

If you recall, the Timelords didn’t know that the doctor wasn’t going to destroy them. So they could’ve taken preemptive measures to ensure their survival. Then when they were pushed back, Gallifrey just vanished like it did in the episode.

  • DALEKSKITTLES

    November 23rd, 2013 - 9:41pm

So a dalek falls through time and space burning and falls to earth only slightly damaged in 2005 but NOW a dalek gets bumped by a tardis or pushed over by a sonic screwdriver they fall apart and die!!!? That’s one thing that really annoyed me during that! And there has still been no development on the NEW DALEKS!!!!!! If they don’t appear on the christmas special cos clearly there are daleks in it but they were time war daleks in the advert, I might just give up on the daleks I say just leave the time war daleks now let the 50th be there last episode and just let the new better awesome daleks take over, if not, cybermen are becoming my new favorite they could Probaly take a knock from a tardis or a push from a sonic screwdriver!!!………over than that it was ok
