That’s not true. Steven Moffat confirmed back in 2011 that the condition forcing their use was no longer in effect (it had been for the past few years, but it wasn’t any more) he just keeps using them because he views them as an essential part of Doctor Who.

    “The Dylng Throes of Davros”

Given there was absolutely no mention of Davros in any promotional material whatsoever barring a leaked teaser which was intended for episode 2 that would never have happened. Think it through before posting stuff like this.

    Series 47? 8 or 30 maybe, but not 47.

Interesting that everyone thinks the doctor is going back to kill davros. Davros challenged him to say the commission was a mistake and he is looking with the guilt of creating davros by not saving him, so surely he had gone back to rescue davros and change events that way?

Personally for episode 1 this is the best episode I have watched from capaldi so far, it was a really good way to bring back davros and the daleks with skaro. This was an awesome way to start a promising doctor who series. I’m looking forward to part 2 😀

I think the new one is much better. In the classic series, Davros’ mask was so chunky and alien, but in Journey’s End it was very skintight and human (as human as Davros can be, anyway) Yes, I definitely prefer this new mask. The excellent lighting didn’t hurt either.

Anyone else notice he’s wearing his red jacket at one point in the next time trailer?

Pretty sure this is a few hundred years later. Just look at the way Julian Bleach plays it; that is not a man crippled by injury, but by age.

Jesus Christ calm the f*ck down. I can answer your question about the ‘Barbarian’ Bors; he was converted into a Dalek by the snake from Colony Sarff.

The Daleks possess Time Travel yes, they have done since 1965 in ‘The Chase’. But their Time capsules are crude and unreliable. TARDISes are far more sophisticated. Besides, Missy only expected them to want it, when clearly they didn’t because they exterminated her and it!

The Doctor exterminating Bubby Davros makes sense, think about the amount of people that will die if he doesn’t.

I was actually scared and shocked when the boy said he was davros

There is, four 2 1/2 minute extras on the BBC YouTube channel.

It was rumored last year that a red telephone box seen in the background in Dark Water was Missy’s TARDIS. And now I’m certain of it because it was in the background in a series 9 behind the scenes video (I forget which one).

The implication is that the Doctor kills Bubby Davros, the Daleks aren’t created, Clara and Missy don’t die.

Might have swiped missy or Clara’s vortex manipulator (why they both have one)

  • SketchJr

    September 20th, 2015 - 4:53pm

Noooooooooooo, the tardis will have got teleported away as well, Steven Moffat wouldn’t be that stupid he wouldn’t destroy the tardis, cos it’s the the main character along with the doctor, it’s like killing the doctor off, no offence

  • DOCTOR WHO ONE

How did Davros survive at the end of series 47 years ago ?.

Answer – Emergency Temporal Shift 🙂

  • John

    September 20th, 2015 - 4:44pm

Clara and missy must have been teleported because in the trailer of season 9 Clara was holding a cannon and running through a corridor so she must be alive

  • Doctor Stu

    September 20th, 2015 - 4:39pm

Missy makes Clara jump, Clara turns on her with a knife and then realizes it’s only missy, they both get into Missy’s TARDIS, pick up the Doctor, leave all the daleks there on skaro, the doctor drops missy off and then changes the interior design so it resembles his TARDIS that was destroyed by the Daleks. Bit far fetched maybe? I dunno…, something along these lines anyway is my prediction

  • Doctor Stu

    September 20th, 2015 - 4:36pm

I bet Missy’s got a TARDIS stashed somewhere and that’s how they escape also on the second series 9 trailer Clara’s holding a knife to missy I bet they have both been transported somewhere instead of being exterminated and this is where this scene takes place

Loved it!! Seeing even more of Capaldi’s darker Doctor coming out. It is Doctor Who as it should be. It’s going to be a long week waiting on the next episode 😀

For those of you wondering how Davros escaped the destruction of the Daleks very own Death Star, the Dalek Crucible, 7 years ago. 3 Words –

    Emergency Temporal Shift.

True, we never saw him say those 3 words just before the Crucible blew up, but it does seem possible, since Time War Daleks have the capability, and there’s no saying Davros’s modern chair does not have the same feature too. It’s better then just thinking he escaped again via an Escape Pod like he did ‘Resurrection’ and ‘Remembrance of the Daleks’ 🙂

  • Who’sGoneWrong??

    September 20th, 2015 - 2:16pm

Is it just me or does Stephen Moffat just not geddit? Does he actually READ what he’s written?? The magician’s apprentice ( rubbishy title by the way – why not something actually coherent like “The Search for the Doctor” or “The Dylng Throes of Davros” ) was an episode that promised much and delivered a MESS!! Why the electric guitar and tank none sense?? Also notice that they were brought to/left behind in the 12th century or whenever which automatically contaminates that time period – something the Doctor would NEVER sanction!! And as for the search – when Snakehead found the doctor and teleported him away it then showed that one of the barbarians was in fact a human/Dalek hybrid (complete with eyestalk) all along!!!!! So why send Snakehead on a search in the first place?? Why not just get the Hybrid to capture the Doctor and save us all some stupid confusion??? Oh, and as for Missy….”With the Tardis the Daleks can travel to other worlds/time blah, blah,”…. Errr….She’d just witnessed Snakehead and the Hybrid do exactly THAT when they were captured for gawd’s sake!!!! And WHY oh WHY would the Doctor bequeath his last will and testament to Missy/the Master…..???? Someone who (as we all saw folks) randomly kills others!!! Instead of a mesmerising Doctor/Master story of yesteryear…. We now have a ‘punch and judy’ tale devoid of any gravitas or common sense. And as for the Cliffhanger…. The Doctor even THINKING of exterminating a child…….What the *********?????????? Sorry Mr Moffat but my family won’t be watching next week…….Think you have genuinely lost the plot and we need commonsense NOT random rubbish.

I agree with @Dalek the Supreme testing the Doctor like this is so engaging and interesting 🙂 Capaldi is an amazing Doctor, for me one of the best! He acts perfectly and plays the Doctor extremely well.

I love seeing him in episodes like this where his compassion is tested 🙂 Can’t wait to see what happens next week!

Doctor Who One, yes you were right about Davros’ return, but even though it is a good storyline, it was a bit of repeat appearance of an old character.

One thing i dont understand is that a lot of you wanted it to be him, yet when other fans have said they hope Maisie’s character is a returning person i.e River, Jenny, Susan or Romana, most of you have said “it should be a new character”. So you have all contradicted yourselves.

Davros is a old used character, but you are all happy to see him back again.

I for one hope that Maisie is an old character and that Moffat is lying about her being new.

To Zygon63, that doesn’t make it right now.

To dan23uk, I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean. The Doctor has gone through entire regenerations without encountering the Master.

The point is that the Doctor’s compassion is being tested and pushed to the limit by Davros and the Daleks. Do you not want to see our main character go through a huge moral dilemma?

I wouldn’t worry too much about that.Their regular use is part of the deal with the Terry Nation estate.
