Loved the new opening theme and titles, and the story started off well enough but, as is becoming alarmingly more common with the series in general since series 6 began, the final resolution with the Snow was just a completely garbled, too easily won, badly acted, and overloud mess that undid everything else for me. Seriously losing faith in the series and was hoping after the return to form in Angels Take Manhattan that things would start to change but, alas, no.

I like the look of this Christmas Special though “A Christmas Carol” was my favourate. It has given me a real taste for the season to come though and I’m very exited about it.

The new title sequence looked messy but so did the last one but the face was good. The new music was the best so far. Jenna was excellent and the Clara has a cool centre of universe plot line. The doctor needs tweed not an 8th doctor attire. The TARDIS was a-maz-ing, loved it. Rock on year 50, the cybermen look cool and clara is going to be great.

I think the doctor meant no-one could control the clouds meaning he couldn’t.

I didn’t mind the title sequence but I LOVED the new music, it really took in lots of the 8th doctors music and combined it with the 2010-2012 music.

I hate their new look, they look like the metalkind form the Sarah Jane Adventures, Yuck!

I liked it how the main enemy was the Great Intelligence, who we haven’t seen since the 60s and it was really clever they put in the part of the London Underground from the Web Of Fear.

Oh no, not another new companion who just so happens to be the most important person blah blah blah, cliche, cliche, cliche. Didn’t like Clara, she was a terrible actress whoever she is, and the story was extremely boring. From the small preview we were shown I am not expecting much from what was supposed to be a brilliant 50th anniversary year. If they muck this up then I probably won’t bother with another season.

i didn’t like it because it didn’t have any action like explosions or all that other stuff

This episode was quite entertaining, it had a very good and whole storyline. It felt like alot of time had been taken in the production of this episode, i think this episode has redeemed my views on the way the show was going. The title sequence was ok….but it felt unfinished, but i like the doctors face, a very classic twist and homage to the original series. The music was slightly a little bland, but very nice. All in all my cinfience has been restored, and i am eager to see what the new series has in store. I tip my hat to you Moffat, a very well structured episode.

New title sequence – seriously what was that? Some still images of blobs spinning around at the beginning looking like some basic flash animation and then the vortex thing (the vortex thing was OK though). Also a bit of a throwback to the classic series – the Doctors actual picture integrated into the sequence – not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. Maybe a bit corny with the TARDIS doors opening at the end of the sequence – ew corny. Maybe the costume for the Doctor will include a jumper with a ? on it soon? The actual episode itself was OK but by no means brilliant. Why is it that the Christmas Special is presented to us like some sort of children’s fairytale (same as the last 2 Christmas Specials). I remember when Doctor Who was really awesome with the Christmas Special being exactly that ‘special’. The new re-design of the TARDIS, definitely better than the last one. The last one was far too cluttered. Rather worryingly its so small – kinda smacks of the 1980’s when Who had almost no money injected into it. With the decrease in number of episodes per year (never mind series x part one and series x part 2) what happened to actual 13 episodes and then the Christmas Special? Unfortunately I think Doctor Who history is repeating itself. Superficial things like the title sequence are changed but the actual stories are suffering and definitely have been for quite some time. Whatever happened to dramatic tension? Seriously there wasn’t any. Ew i so cringed at the very wobbly spiral staircase – soon we will return to spaceships made out of squeezable bottles. What a shame poor Doctor Who – the things that killed it in the 80’s seem to be returning. I only hope the 50th Anniversary is treated with some understanding – just the way the original relaunch was. Please not another non-sense children’s fairytale!!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE new title sequence, very dissapointed in it…It looked messy, very mashed up.
On the up side though, the story was very entertaining, a bit slow in the middle , but VERY interesting at the end. You keep teasing us with these underlying secret plotlines…so Who or WHAT is Clara/Oswin??????
Will be watching it a few more times on I-Player.

some clever moments, it may be the best SM’s done, becuase it had a threat to earth in it. the plot i thought was quite erratic and complicated to follow i think that whole clara thing could’ve been explained a bit better at the end the whole ‘snowmen taking over the world’ wasnt actually true to slightly dissapointing but ok. i do like clara and i think she could be a female time lord.
