It was a little slow to me, I am looking forward to next week’s episode though. Now would be a good time to kill off the new doctor and have him regenerate as Matt Smith. I like Peter, don’t get me wrong, I just like Matt more. They should also bring back Amy while they are bringing back old characters.

Nice to know U.N.I.T. will still be around in the early 22nd Century.

Pity the same can’t be said for Torchwood after the events of old ‘Children of Earth’ and ‘Miricle Day’, thou clearly Torchwood somehow lives on, in name at least, due to mention of the Torchwood Archive in series 2’s introduction to the Ood back in 2006.

Matt Smith was NOT rid off by the BBC, like David Tennant before him, he wanted to leave at his own accord.

Jenna-Louise Coleman has now left Doctor Who, Clara will be leaving the Doctor soon during series 9 at some point.

If you can’t stand the way Doctor Who is at the moment, then feel free to switch off and please just leave the show to the REAL fan’s who actually are enjoying it rather then nothing but COMPLAIN.

I’m sorry but that’s it, the sonic shades have to be condemned to the time vortex never to return.

Er…..O.K. but nothing to write home about. The show is slipping and you obviously don’t know what to do about it.
    Here are two suggestions:
I still can’t understand why you would get rid of Matt Smith for Peter Capaldi ??? I hope he’s gone after this season. I can’t stand him!
And Clara should have been axed a long time ago! For heaven’s sake get a new Companion. Yes she’s cute, yes, she’s perky but she’s also annoying and way too perky!

They were in The Witch’s Familiar but not tonight’s. Maybe they’re only aligned in the second part of 2 parters…

Another amazing episode…these 2 parters are really working (so far). I used to prefer the 1 story per 45 min episode as the 2 parters in the 9th/10th/11th Doctor era usually (not always), had a weak 2nd part and the old classics used to have a great opening and final episode but episodes 3 and 4 were usually filler following the repetitive format of Doctor triumphs, Doctor gets captures, Doctor Triumphs format.

I have never been so excited about a new series….3 episodes in and all 3 are 4/5 stars.

classic scenario that’s lasted the series over 50 years..the old ‘base under siege’. Great story and no ‘silly parts’ and a great cliffhanger….why did I feel we were heading to a Fenric revival or was that just me? This season is the best since its return in my opinion …..so far…..

Wasn’t really my cup of tea. I don’t tend to like stories with a group of characters in a base under siege. Reminded me of ‘The impossible Planet’ two part and ‘The Rebel Flesh’ two part, both stories I don’t really like. I thought the ghosts could have been so much scarier in a different setting such as an old house. Ghost in Doctor Who are the only time I’ve ever really been scared (‘Hide’ was terrifying). So I felt the ghosts were a little wasted.

I did like the scenes where they try to trap the ghost, that was tense I also liked the deaf character being a leader in the group and finally I loved the scene with The Doctors flashcards.
So its a great story if your into base under siege and a lot of characters but not one of my favourites. The next part looks great but again, maybe not my cup of tea.

Radical thought. I think the occupant of the sealed suspended animation capsule is…The Doctor. When he travelled into the past he had to put himself in it to escape the flood after defeating the original occupant/pilot.

Somehow, this episode was BETTER than The Magicians Apprentice !!! What an amazing base under siege classic with the style of The Ark, in reverse. Amazing amazing amazing!!!!!!! Everything I could ask for and more.

I enjoyed it, I usually don’t spot clues cos always answering me kids questions but what about the picture in the base of the big snakey thing and the Viking boat surely a link to the big snakey thing and Vikings from the trailers…..glub glub

Pritchards ghost didn’t kill the other crew member because he never saw the writing in the spaceship

    What a great episode!
It feels like good old Doctor Who again with a bit of mind hurting time travelling.
One niggle, it the next ep is set in Scotland, why is there a Soviet base?

Was it explained why Pritchard ghost didn’t kill the man with the spanner? It was a good episode but it was a bit slow and I felt we could have seen some more ghost action like even when the ghost picked up that axe maybe a few more swings here and there to add tension I felt some of the action scenes needed to go on a little bit longer to be more dramatic

I’d say it was tighter and more focussed than the last 2 weeks. Very mysterious, and it certainly looked the part. I can’t help feel there’s something missing, just a few lines here and there. Say, how did the crew know the TARDIS was there? I don’t recall the Doctor mentioning it.

Mind you though, next week looks bloody good.

Loved this episode! I think that all the cliffhangers in this series are gonna keep me on the edge of my seat for a week!

The pace was a bit slow for some of it, but a good episode overall. I’m looking forward to Before the Flood next week.

    Well that was dramatic…

What an episode. I’m glad that next weeks has both this week’s adventure continued and a new part of the story. Proper time travel where not only two people can go places but characters within the narrative. I loved the sfx on the ‘ghosts’ and seeing the Doctor with that special effect on him was fantastic. I think my stomach literally back flipped when I saw him. Also, proper deaths! At last a murdery creature that kills people! First death: Fire. Second Death: Drowning. Perfect. Doctor Who at it’s best…

Although I DO wish that the titles sequence was properly aligned …

Good episode! Really liked the characters. Not much point in the cliffhanger though, as the Doctor is in the rest of the series. Bit hard to follow but it had some interesting ideas!

Like The Rebel Flesh, I think just set the foundations for next week.

You know, the only thing I’m feeling indifferent to now is the Doctor.
