Now that the Eleventh episode of series 10 has been aired what did you think? Was it everything you had hoped for or not what you expected.

June 25th, 2017 - 1:37pmMaybe all the cybermen are defeated apart from the mondas cybermen and the Mondas cybermen from this episode turn out to be the same Mondas cybermen from the tenth planet and the Doctor pops off to see his first incarnation to tell him that there are cybermen approaching and he must do what he needs to – to defeat them. So that the next episode goes full circle right back to the tenth planet if that made any sense

June 25th, 2017 - 12:51pmGreat, an episode with more than just a light sprinkling of sci-fi.
The story involving Bill felt a bit padded out, and the idea that she’d survive such a fatal injury was quite a stretch. On the bright side, she does make a pretty good Cyberman. Apart from the lack of a large fog-light on her head, what’s there to complain about? The Cybermen have always been equal opportunity upgraders – oh, the ironies. Lol!
Rather than using weird crying physics at the end, which I found quite comedic, surely she should feel honoured being part of that elite group of cybernetic pioneers. I look forward to seeing more of Billocutus in that old-school Cyberman get-up. John Simm and Michelle Gomez in top form as usual.

June 25th, 2017 - 12:49pmPre credits scene, I imagine I’m not alone in wondering if The Doctor has gone back to Mondas and the time of his first incarnation somehow, who himself is not long away from his first regeneration. With lots of talk of David Bradley perhaps appearing taking the role again. However, I can’t work out how that scenario will tie in with Capalidi’s departure.

June 25th, 2017 - 11:06amAll i’ve ever wanted is a Cyberman story to have vibes of the empty child/the doctor dances. This certainly delivered! Was not keen on the idea of the mondasian cybermen coming back because i thought they would look out of place in the show as it looks today. But they did them so well! Creepy faceless half converted! I loved the scene when we saw different stages of the conversion. And then Bill as the first Cyberman was chilling and heartbreaking. I have to say Moffat you have nailed this one. Just please please please don’t cop out and save Bill! Leave it as it is! Please!
Only downfall to the episode was we knew to much. If only we never knew John Simm was back it would have made for an amazing shocker!

June 25th, 2017 - 10:38amNardole is terrible – on every level.
Bringing another companion back with the “reset button” just cheapens the whole thing. The whole Clara angle was awful, and an embarrassing watch – turning the whole show in to a farce.
Let’s just have a dramatic moment that stays – and that way, every time there is a threat – that threat remains real – as we wont have that “reset button” tucked away to save the day, because if it keeps being used, it will eliminate all threats and drama from the show permanently..
Bill should remain a cyberman !

June 25th, 2017 - 9:34amI don’t think the reveal of the Mondasians could have kept secret, but I do think John Simm’s reveal could have been save. The BBC could have hyped up a 10th Doctor era villain, but not specified which, then people would have assumed it was the 2006 Cybermen, only to find out it was actually the Master.

June 25th, 2017 - 9:24amEnjoyed this one, possibly the only episode I have enjoyed featuring the 12 th dr as I’ve not taken to him at all.there has been too many snippets of him regenerating that will spoil it when he does! .where was the cyberman music? Let’s just hope John simm returns in the next series. I also guessed it could be him in disguise.

June 25th, 2017 - 8:14amHopefully Chris Chibnall manages to keep his spoilers close to his chest. Because it clearly wasn’t a good idea to show John Simm’s Master coming back in the series trailer. The Mondasian Cybermen coming back could have been kept more secret too. However, I think knowing those Cybermen were coming back in the finale wasn’t that bad a spoiler. The biggest surprise was going to be John Simm’s Master anyway. Clearly Moffat was so excited about John Simm returning, that he couldn’t contain his excitement. They did better in series 9 keeping secrets.

This is looking more likely then ever, but I’ll even put up with the overused “reset button” to keep Bill alive. I really like her and don’t want to see her go!
I really liked the tear effect they did for the Bill cyberman, I’ll be really happy if it ends up with Bill being the reason the cybermen have the tears in the corner of their eyes.
For me, the special effects in this episode seemed really good for Doctor Who, particularly the shot near the start which shows the black hole and the space ship from the outside.

June 25th, 2017 - 3:35amI am in denial about bill brilliant episode very dark and an exit like that for a companion is so brutal she did not even finish uni But in the tv trailer for the doctor falls you hear her voice. She looked human under the helmet maybe her face is fine just not the rest. But I think she will leave whatever happens , too much denial

June 25th, 2017 - 2:42amI really enjoyed this story. It doesn’t seem to retcon Spare Parts but still provides some sort of Genesis of the Cybermen for the Telly box. The stuff on conversion was a bit creepy, especially the half converted Cybermen. As for Bills conversion, sadly many people predicted it, but it’s still a strong companion exit regardless. The only thing I can think of that could have been done better is the amount of information they revealed before hand, but I understand that couldn’t have been helped.

June 25th, 2017 - 1:24amAbsolutely fantastic. The best episode of the series by a country mile (which is saying a lot as the quality this series has been fantastic), and there is a definite possibility that it may actually be the best episode of New Who. I only wish that we hadn’t known about John Simm returning, as I figured it was him relatively early in the episode which ruined the reveal a little bit, if I hadn’t known it was him that would have absolutely been the best moment of New Who. None of that takes away from the fact that the episode was fantastic, here’s hoping next week continues in that vein!

June 25th, 2017 - 1:17amI disagree, just one last “reset” to bring the human version of Bill back and for her to stay with the Doctor (& hopefully Nardole) into the 2017 xmas special and then for them to see the Doctor regenerate.
Best surpise would be that both Bill and Nardole travel with the Thirteenth Doctor in series 11 in 2018.

June 25th, 2017 - 12:52amMoffat still can’t write a story with a beginning, middle and end. Or at the very least in that order. Although I honestly found that type of story telling worked at it’s best in this story, even if it did still take the dramatic pace out of some scenes. I’m often critical of this type of backwards and forwards story telling. Only because it often becomes a disjointed set of scenes, that actually damage the flow of a story.

June 25th, 2017 - 12:25amOmg I loved it edge of my seat from start to finish, I waited until about 11pm to watch it so it was dark and it was soooo creepy. I love the new mondas cybermen voice it’s so unsettling and the way we saw the gradual upgrade step by step and then the eventual finished product was brilliant. Having the Mondas design would look out of place as it’s so stripped back to what we’re used to in cybermen so to see the gradual stages of the upgrade I.e, faces with cloths and then the mouth pieces and eye holes and then the full mondas suit with new voice worked amazingly and just looked so appropriate in the episode. Again like everybody else, Simm reveal was ruined but to be fair I only really twigged where it was going when he started to talk to Missy at the console near the end of the episode. Bills eye behind the cloth at the end was so pleasantly dark seeing as we were told earlier in the ep that they feel pain constantly but it does raise the question of ‘could the doctor just whip the cloth off her head and heal her with a bit of sonic trickery or regenerative energy next episode. I haven’t been this impressed by an episode since maybe ‘day of the moon’. I will definitely rewatch this episode in the future. And no offense but please Bill stay dead, I’m assuming we’re going to dive into her subconscious where she’ll be talking to her mom and her love will unconvert everyone and save the day but regardless of that at least we can say the first half of the finale was good

June 25th, 2017 - 12:01amI was thinking the same. Plus, hasn’t it been rumoured that David Bradley may be reprising his role as the 1st Doctor. I have wondered whilst watching ‘The Tenth Planet’ how the 1st Doctor knows and expects the planet Mondas arrival in 1986. Obviously with the 12th Doctor being there for the genesis of the Mondasian Cybermen, he goes back in his own time stream and tells the 1st Doctor Mondas is coming. He also reminds him to save Gallifrey during the time war, along with his other future incarnations…
