They will! But they’ll leave halfway through. Unless you mean the 50th anniversary.

Does anyone else think the heartbreaking storyline might have something to do with the fact Amy killed Kovarian? Of course it was all in a different reality so everythings fine now but Amy seemed affected by it at the end of The Wedding Of River Song.

Yes me too they were the best ,i really thought that amy was the greatest companion ever.the story behind her and rory, and the way that river slid in so perfectly. river as the doctor’s wife she will be appearing in the next series , if she doesn’t i will be very disapointed

Yes, the show is about change, but they didn’t need to get rid of em mid season… especially if they bring them back after sort of concluding their story with a happy little end just to give them some “heartbreaking” end.

And like I’ve said before, personally, I was hoping they would be the only main companions for the entire Smith run. The 3 of them together are amazing.

    Will miss the Ponds 🙁

That’s the way show works I’m afraid. The Doctor changes and companions come and go. As much as it’s gonna be hard to say goodbye to the Ponds I’m sure The Doctors new friend will be great too!

I don’t they will die. But The Doctor killing them? If they were to die it would be because of The Doctor but in a way which isn’t his fault.

There has been no confirmation about Jack returning next year. If anything John Barrowman is keen to be a part of the 50th anniversary. Moffat is talking about a possible return of the character unless there is a good story for him like A Good Man Goes To War which Moffat originally hoped Jack would appear in but unfortuanately Barrowman was filming Miracle Day at the same time A Good Man Goes To War was in production.

Not really. Main companions are Rose, Martha, Donna, Amy and Rory. Characters like Jack, Mickey, River, Rose’s mom, etc are not main companions, but even if you want to include them I think we can agree that killing off characters (Boe/Jack, River) that still can and do appear in the show is NOT the same as killing off a character for good.

Yes we had Jamie, But as the RTD stories, River seemed far more important in the forest of the dead over the wedding of River Song. I almost feel like i’m chatting to Mark Gatiss or S.Moffat. I enjoyed the last season right up untill the question “Dr Who”, That was so poor. It’s like when any news of the show hit’s the media, “Who will be the new Dr Who”? The show is called Doctor Who, The Doctor is his name. I feel some what let down. Towards the end of the classic show(Macoy) the show’s sejested more dark nature to The Doctor, RTD Started to web out some past(the end of time ep 1-2, plus the time war). Since the re-gen, S.Moffat has dumbed it back down. Steven Moffat is a great script writer, But because of his commitment to other show’s(Sherlock) it would appear his time is very much split(can’t be easy for a man with a young family). Here’s an ideal, Let someone like Mark Gatiss write the main story arch, and Steven could fill in the blanks. I have loved this program since i was a little child. My love of the show has never left me. I just want the show to stay great, A little criticism cant hurt S. Mofatt if he was to read this. Old and new fan’s want the best, not second place to any or all projects that the writer/dir/prod/actor are working on.

As for your ideas about Mr Smith’s performance, you got it exactly right, he is inspired by Patrick Troughton’s performance, and his main companion was a man so why not the same here. We need another Jamie, too many women lately (lately being fourty years).
