I’m glad to see that Delia Derbyshire will be featured in this drama. Her music was, and still is, extraordinary.

What an excitement for an old fan like me.It’s marvellous.I am ten years old again. Please regenerate Carol Ann Ford ….That would be brilliant…..or maybe Riversongs’ daughter could be hastily dumped on an early Galifrey to re emerge as SUSAN…. Sorry getting carried away…..!

As great as it was to see these images I feel that the BBC did right in sacking the “gal” who posted them. If you think about it, the images of the sets are the intellectual copyright of the BBC and the person who took them has breached their contract. It is the same as “stealing” from your employers.. you take the consequences!

All the ‘Lime Grove’ and ‘Riverside’studio scenes as featured in this BBC drama recreation are ex- BBC cameras, the same as used on both series of The Hour, plus the monitors, lights, mics and booms. All from the period and hired from Golden Age Tv.

I agree here 100% the TARDIS poice-box and console/interior were a HUGE part of early Dr Who, I sincerely hope these sets don’t get ‘junked’!
The opening scenes of ‘The Planet Of The Giants’ (1965) I remember well, and they have some superb scenes of the early console in action. In the website Tardisbuilders.com a forum member has nearing completion a MAGNIFICENT 1963 console-which has been going on since 2008 that not even the Beeb would believe if they saw it!!

  • Bryan Fraser

    February 23rd, 2013 - 3:46pm

Looks like they have done a sterling job on the TARDIS interior! especially the original (1963) console-complete with meters/blinking lights/switches and levers! I could have sworn that was Jackie Hill in the pic-very authentic and period clothing-down to coat, skirt and backcombing, just like the teacher Jackie played.
    Roll on November!
