Tom Baker…
Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions. She can’t be dead. But she is: she died yesterday morning. Cancer.
You can read the full tribute Here.
Matt Smith…
“What struck me about Lis was her grace. She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who. And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely. I will miss her, as will the world of Doctor Who and all the Doctors that had the good pleasure to work with Lis Sladen and travel the universe with Sarah Jane.”
David Tennant…
I just can’t believe that Lis is gone. She seemed invincible. The same woman who enchanted my childhood, enchanted my time on Doctor Who and enchanted generations who have watched her and fallen in love with her – just like I did. I feel very honoured to have shared a TARDIS with Sarah Jane Smith, and I feel very lucky to have shared some time with Lis Sladen. She was extraordinary.
Russell T Davies…
“I absolutely loved Lis. She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis.”
Nicholas Briggs…
We are all so shocked and so very sad at the news of the death of Lis Sladen. Only yesterday I was filming a DVD extra in which I was talking with such heartfelt passion about how she was so ‘luminous’ on screen and how brilliant she was as Sarah Jane Smith.
Please bear in mind some comments on this site are from very young and upset people. This news as come as a great shock to many fans, old and new.

April 20th, 2011 - 12:45amThe first three stories were completed last year, so CBBC might show them this autumn – maybe as a tribute. The last three were postponed due to Sladen’s cancer, it’s unknown if filming ever occured for those stories.
The show will probally be discontinued due to Salden’s death. But maybe Luke, Rani and Clyde will appear in some other way in the Doctor Who universe, maybe in a new spin-off??
I bet at the end of one of the episodes from the 6th series of Dr Who, it will say that the episode was dedicated to her, and maybe another dedicated to Nicholas Courtney…

First Nick and now her not fair!’

April 20th, 2011 - 12:10amSometimes someone who you didn’t know personally dies and it really hits you. I grew up in the seventies watching her with Jon Pertwee & Tom Baker and she was quite simply brilliant. When I remember my childhood TV she is someone who stands out a mile.
Ive just had a really fantastic day and a great evening….what a crap end to it. Very, very sad news……gutted. RIP Lis

April 19th, 2011 - 11:49pmAs we recover from one passing, another has gone too. Up to the TARDIS in the sky. I and I’m sure all Whovians will miss her very dearly. She was an incredible person, appearing in both Classic and New Who. She was incredible. I just hope that at the end of Doctor Who this week, they will too give a tribute. Rest in peace Elisabeth, we will all miss you.

April 19th, 2011 - 11:11pmElisabeth Sladen was a brillant lady, funny and kind. I met elisabeth in 2009 i was star struck when i met her at a doctor who convention. I went as the third doctor and i went to go and talk to elisabeth sladen. As i went up to Elisabeth sladen i crept up behind her and said “Hello Sarah jane” and elisabeth jumped a mile away from me and she said “Doctor”. We’d laughed,i had my photo took with her and at the end of the doctor who convention i met her for the very last time. She seen me and she said “it was lovely meeting you Adam and i said “you too Elisabeth and good luck in the future”. Before she left she said “come and give me a hug and a kiss” and i said “are you sure” and she said “yeah” and i did. Elisabeth said Goodbye Doctor and i said Goodbye Miss Sarah Jane Smith. R.I.P Elisabeth and thank you for that day.

April 19th, 2011 - 10:44pmNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I realy was not expecting this! she was one of the best companions and she was great in SJA. I hate cancer for all the wonderfull people it targets. I saw this on the news a few minutes ago and I just went WHAT??!! in my head. 😥 😥 I am with her series 2 figure (DW) and a huge lego ATLANTIS set behind me which realy doesn’t relate to this at all. 😥 A big shock 😯 on my Birthday. (which if you have been in the merchandise pandorica C&B bit, you will know is today)
They could still make a spin off for SJA with martha or Joe in. But it wont be the same without Liz. 😥 😥 😥 😥

She is so nice and funny. She shall be truley missed]
