Tom Baker…
Sarah Jane dead? No, impossible! Impossible. Only last week I agreed to do six new audio adventures with her for Big Finish Productions. She can’t be dead. But she is: she died yesterday morning. Cancer.
You can read the full tribute Here.
Matt Smith…
“What struck me about Lis was her grace. She welcomed me, educated me, and delighted me with her tales and adventures on Doctor Who. And she also seemed to have a quality of youth that not many people retain as they go through life. Her grace and kindness will stay with me because she had such qualities in abundance and shared them freely. I will miss her, as will the world of Doctor Who and all the Doctors that had the good pleasure to work with Lis Sladen and travel the universe with Sarah Jane.”
David Tennant…
I just can’t believe that Lis is gone. She seemed invincible. The same woman who enchanted my childhood, enchanted my time on Doctor Who and enchanted generations who have watched her and fallen in love with her – just like I did. I feel very honoured to have shared a TARDIS with Sarah Jane Smith, and I feel very lucky to have shared some time with Lis Sladen. She was extraordinary.
Russell T Davies…
“I absolutely loved Lis. She was funny and cheeky and clever and just simply wonderful. The universe was lucky to have Sarah Jane Smith, the world was lucky to have Lis.”
Nicholas Briggs…
We are all so shocked and so very sad at the news of the death of Lis Sladen. Only yesterday I was filming a DVD extra in which I was talking with such heartfelt passion about how she was so ‘luminous’ on screen and how brilliant she was as Sarah Jane Smith.
Please bear in mind some comments on this site are from very young and upset people. This news as come as a great shock to many fans, old and new.

April 20th, 2011 - 11:06amThis is truly devastating news to all Doctor Who fans – both young and old. I grew up watching Liz with Jon Pertwee and then Tom Baker and remember how fiesty and headstrong she was, which made her all the more believable. I did get to see her at the 20th Anniversary celebration at Longleat House and more recently at Earl’s Court at a photograph signing and she was just brilliant – warm and friendly (very cheeky!)and just completely at home with her fans. The love for Liz on this site just goes to show how many lives she touched for the better. Lis – You will always be in our hearts. x Rob

Will the 5th series go ahead
But I have got an idea maybe they could have a funeral and luke, clyde & rani could continue or get another 1 of the companions who is no longer in the show

April 20th, 2011 - 10:45amI never knew she had cancer, it’s such a shame and so sad, but hopefully she has a good afterlife, if it’s real, I’ll miss her so much and I think it’s every doctor’s dream to work with Lis. I’m sure it’s also a privilidge to work with her and write for her. I hope she had a very happy life and the faite of sja, I’m going to miss that too, because it is’nt the same without ms Sladen.
R.I.P.
Rest In Peace
