Well you must be a Cyberman then, because Edward Russel, Doctor Who’s brand manager confirmed it is a light blue lilac colour.

Just came here to write this XD and that viral image of the dress was about how our eyes take in light and how we perceive colour, I saw yellow and white and if I looked at the same image again at different parts of the day I saw blue and black so I can appreciate that this coat might actually be blue

So, ive just been reading a “rumour” that the Doctor’s trench coat isnt actually beige…. but its actually light blue.

First there was that stupid viral dress being black and blue or white and gold (it was clearly black and blue). Then a trend on a pair of shoes being either of two sets of colours, now this….

If her coat is light blue then im actually a real life Cyberman. Whats next, the TARDIS is really bright green with pink flowers?

This is the same issue I have with Whittaker. Whittaker can certainly act, but she lacks the eccentricity, the gravitas, and the leading character qualities the role needs. It all feels like a watered down light weight Doctor Who. It’s a show clearly on it’s last legs sadly.

Anonymous is discounting 2018 because that it when it is feared the series will die due to conceited writers trying to top the shock value of their predecessors unnecessarily and to commit to the BBC PC World and give important roles to those actors they perhaps found easy to manage during previous projects they ran/wrote.

It just MIGHT still be okay.

Yes I feel a dumbing down element. Would a 2000 year old Time(person) really dress like this? Be prepared to accept DW to be more like SJA. There is nothing wrong with SJA but we adult fans require something more substantial and we may not be heading in that direction. Heard Gatiss is not writing for the new series (bad) and Chibnall has not written any exceptional episodes thus far. One thing they could do is get rid of the sonic screwdriver because that gets the Doctor out of too many dangers and encourages lazy writing.

The show is, I fear, heading for the wilderness years again.

New costume is dreadful. Can’t get my head round this particular change of doctor either. Sorry.

I agree Mick181…i couldn’t care less what the police box looks like as long as it remains a police box…my problem is with the ‘alternate universe Time lady’ that’s standing in front of it…

Sorry you should have put 1963-2018, there will be at least one more season, after that who knows?

please make a 13th Doctor Pudsey with that costume.

  • The Living Shadow

    November 12th, 2017 - 9:46pm

Not sure whether I like the costume yet or not… might have to see it in action first!
I remember hating Capaldi’s costume after the first promo pic, but after series 8, it became my favourite costume! I’m going to give it some time before I make full judgement. Love the Tardis exterior though, I’m not uncertain about that at all!

    November 12th, 2017 - 9:07pm

What? The TARDIS is the face of the show (after the Doctor, of course) and the way it looks is important. I, for one, love the new design, but if it changes too much, it won’t look right, and won’t work in the show.

“Its a Police Box and its Blue as long as they don’t change the basics of it, who cares?”

Maybe let’s wait until she’s had one actual scene before we judge

This is a terrible travesty. It looks like a bland advert for PRINGLE. The actor concerns me – the Doctor is supposed to be eccentric. if they were going for a woman, they should have gone for Kathy Burke or Francis De la Tour, real character actors to follow in the same tradition as Troughton, Pertwee, Baker. Sorry but Whitakker is not an eccentric. This is a disaster.

I think the new costume brings, a little more light and fun to the series. I only a couple of the 12th Doctor episodes and drifted away from it. Since hearing that Jodie Whittaker was cast , I thought maybe the series will be better. I like the costume, it’s simple and modern. I think Jodie will be a fantastic addition to the series and hopefully there will be an action figure, hopefully a 6 inch one.

Jodie Whittaker is number one in my book

And a head writer who actually knows how to write decent dialogue and characters as opposed to all the poetry dialogue of moffat who always seemed to be trying to get as many quotes on t shirts as he could

  • Prof Horner

    November 12th, 2017 - 11:57am

This is how I felt in 1987. The difference this time is we have a new head writer and producer. Something we did not have back then. Lets see how it goes , make up your mind then.

  • Mad Dalek

    November 11th, 2017 - 10:15pm

    Oh look Doctor Clown,

Just isn’t the look of “Who”
I have a bad feeling the season will be played for laughs,, honestly, one look at her coming and even the Daleks will be laughing

  • The Outcast

Oh yes, the inner doors NEED to come back. They are so cool!

  • Mick181

    November 11th, 2017 - 2:28am

Dreadfull Dreadfull, Dreadfull is all i can come up with for her outfit. Who cares what the Outside of the Tardis looks like? Its a Police Box and its Blue as long as they don’t change the basics of it, who cares?
I’m a life long Dr Who Fan and i couldnt tell the difference between the Outside of Hartnells, McCoys or Capaldis if my life depended on it, insides yes. Other than episodes where we have had things drawn or stuck on it, i don’t take one bit of notice of the outside.

i think her costume is good chose because it easy for her run or fight with all the monsters or aliens with her new companions help during her new adventure which film for next years autumn or spring for 12 episodes
