The show got cancelled cause ratings dropped….Have the ratings dropped this season??
The show has lasted cause it works to a formula, a style. Change that style too much and people stop watching. I dont want tennent back, I just want inteligent stories that dont drag on for TWO YEARS!!
I say again…have the ratings dropped this season???

watched the episode thought it was a brilliant secrets episode but there wasn’t much of a scare for the teselecta for me if this was what moffat was aiming for then really good episde but if he wanted an even balance of both secrets and scares didn’t quite get there

yeh i thought it was river that was regenerating in day of the moon but moffat knows that a lot of us know so he didn’t make a big deal out of mels’ line when she talked about it

What we need is a good monster-romp sort of story. I’m really in the mood for seeing some menace,

-some Cybermen Dalek kindof threat in the stories, and NIGHT TERRORS is really going to deliver on that desire, I think.

But that’s not to say “Let’s Kill Hitler” wasn’t great, but I want to be thrilled with some monster-scares now. ❓ !

This Episode was AWESOME! The Cast and Crew were right saying we find a lot more about River Song. Can’t wait until the next episode.

We dont have to move on if we dont want to, i like much of the new series but still prefer the classic series – there is nothing wrong in that, you cant expect everyone to like stuff just because you do.

  • Mels

    August 28th, 2011 - 12:47pm

42!!! (I can see that as a Comic Relief skit lol)

On a serious note… a really good episode! Alex Kingston completely stole the show imo, and I never thought I’d be saying that!

I don’t know what other people think, but that episode felt very much like a River ‘finale’ to me. Yes, she’ll be in the rest of the series (probably mostly in the finale), but I wonder if she will be appearing less often now? And who knows if she’ll be in series 7 at all. (There’s all that 200 year history (TARDIS notebook) with the Doctor, but I don’t think we’ll see much of that, esp. if it’s the ganger Doctor she’s with in those times).

Looking forward to the next epidode!

Guys, you really have to move on. The show has. I was a massive fan pre 2005, but for me it is still great. Doctor Who has always changed over the years. I have no problem following the plot and it annoys me when people moan that it’s not as good as the classic series or David Tennant should come back. The change in DW is the reason it’s lasted so long. We’re lucky to have any DW at all.

Great episode, I was right. River song said that the last time she regenerated she was a little girl in the backstreets of new York. This was the girl in the astronaut suit. River murdered the greatest man she has ever known. The astronaut killed the doctor but river song was the girl in the astronaut suit so this answers this question also ‘mels’ asked the doctor to marry her. Sort of.

    no, because that sounds wrong…
however, the viewing figures may increase if they kept the title name.

its not supposed to be a “kids show”…
it’s a family show. plenty of adults watch it too.

I disagree. however, i would have liked to see hitler in the episode a bit more, it was done well though.

  • Bigger on the Inside

The fouth dimension for lets kill hitler on the doctor who official site:
    WHEN REASONS SLEPT
    WHEN MOTHERS WEPT
    WHEN SOILDERS CREPT
    THE MONSTERS CAME
i think this is reffering to NIGHT OF TERRORS

I think there are abit too many twists- its supposed to be a kids show and i know for a fact my bro and my cousins didn’t get it. I personally loved it but maybe they should lessen the twists and focus on monsters for a while.
Overall I give that episode 8/10 because I make twists out of everything but now I have them in front of me!

the plot twist with river song was clever and at first i thought ‘mels’ was actualy a new charcter they were introducing.
you can tell from the fast writing stephen moffat wrote it[anyone seen jekyll?]
brilliant and great fun and river song was great.

i agree it was lke seeing the cybermen in ‘a good man goes to war’ for 5 mins.

I loved the episode but the bit when the doctor was asking what the ultimate question was to judgement bot Amy and she says unknown reminds me a lot of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. And as I said in another forum this isn’t a series opener there’s no need for them to introduce the characters again. I loved this episode!!!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED IT!!!!! 🙂 the way it was writen the way it was played, and rivers entrance to the episode was amazing. so now we know why river never regenerated in the library, Steven Moffat your a genius. you shall now be called the MOFFINATOR 😀

I enjoyed this episode, and the title turned out to be nothing to do with Hitler, just a saying but i’m one of those stuck in the past.

There are many Classic stories i can watch over and over again but very few new series ones.
