Poll – What Did You Think of Let’s Kill Hitler ?

What Did You Think of Let’s Kill Hitler ?

After the summer break Doctor Who is back on our screens with Let’s Kill Hitler. What did you think -was it one of the best stories yet or just not as good as you had hoped.

I think the best part for me was the look on Matt smiths face when he is sitting on the table after Alex kingsford has just discovered her new teeth. Quality acting at it’s finest, well done Matt (Mathew?)

i’m a bit confused on rivers regeneration because she regenerated in late 1969/1970 in new york but she was a child in 1997 so how does that work?

Well, think about it. The Doctor is 1000 years old and looks like he’s 29. River could have been 70 years old and looked like she was eight. They’re Time Lords, so they look younger than they really are. We don’t se the end of her regeneration in NY so we can only assume that she regenerated into Mels and was able to travel to England. If she was able to get away from the eye patch lady (I can’t spell her name correctly) then she’s be able to get to England in time for grade school, which is when she and Amelia and Rory meet. She grows up at a regular rate and then gets shot and regenerates to River.

This is about a separate episode:

River gives up her regenerations for The Doctor. Then the Doctor gives them back in order to fix River’s wrist when she breaks it in order to get away from an angel. So, The Doctor shouldn’t regenerate, correct? Because he doesn’t have any regenerations left. Unless he somehow gets them back in a later episode that I haven’t seen yet, I don’t see how he can regenerate again.

Yeh! Hitler wasn’t really much in it. It was more about River goin on a crazy psycopathic spree and Amy chasing her. My favourite line was “shut up Hitler”.

if they named it ‘The Birth of River Song’ that would have given it all away.

This was a great episode, great timey whimey plot. 10/10 the series is looking good compared to last

I think the episode moved too quickly, finding River after she poisoned the doctor, Getting Rid of Hitler and on the teselecta, it all moved too fast and made the episode seem too short.

It was awesome, but it went a bit fast. It could’ve dwelled longer on some things. Steven Moffat is a god at the whole confusion thing, though. He uses time travel and paradoxes really well.

it was good but… is it getting a bit grown up? i mean, there’s kiddies watching this and the quote “take off your clothes” put me off. Overrall, it was great. i liked it when Rory did an impression of Amy. Ha!

      September 2nd, 2011 - 12:48pm

no actually its a family show

    • Iateda

      September 6th, 2011 - 10:18am

Yeah sure it was a bit random and the show may be a family show but Where would we be if the writers didnt throw a bit of fun in every once in a while?
We would be stuck watching some random show about an old guy, actually make that some long dead guy, who Sits and does nothing with his life/afterlife.

    Here’s The Question : WHY?

(Ultimately unanswerable therefore, Silence will fall!)

Nooo…. What have you done? D:

(But the answer is clearly 42.)

I think the Silence are not actually called the Silence because it said in Let’s Kill Hitler that the Silence was a religious order not a species so we don’t actually know what the Silence is yet. We don’t know anything about their species or maybe they were created by Madame Kovarian or something.

I’ve got a theory that the Silence is not actually called the Silence because in Let’s Kill Hitler it said that the Silence was not a species but they’re actually a religious order so we don’t actually know what the Silence species is or maybe they were created by Madame Kovarian or something.

    August 29th, 2011 - 7:00pm

I think the oldest Question is “Doctor Who?” or “Who is The Doctor” ,but any way its just a thought and my thoughts are always wrong!

The first thought in my mind when I heard about the ultimate question was ” doctor who?” I am so glad someone else thought the same thing as me!!!!!!

  • Boodleoo

    August 29th, 2011 - 6:34pm

I tried to ignore this but… near the end when amy asks the doctor what he’s doing and he closes his biography which he downloaded from the teselecta. then the screen show a the whole of the tardis the biography is still on screen then it changes scene to the doctor moving about and the biography’s gone again

    • Boodleoo

      August 29th, 2011 - 6:45pm

sorry I was wrong the doctor closes it leaving a picture of him then he flips a switch and it must have changed off camera

  • Fox Mulder

    August 29th, 2011 - 4:26pm

This episode was very well written my Fez goes of to Steven Moffat for giving us such a brilliant episode and a great tribute to the terminator film series. And Alex kingston was great, Moffat knows time traval, “you named your daughter after your daughter”

    • Iateda

      September 6th, 2011 - 10:26am

I totally agree!!!!! Fezzes( is that the plural for fez) off to the writers and Alex kingsford for a brilliant performance!!!!!! I am obsessed with doctor who and have watched hundreds of episodes yet that one probably made it into my top 20 favorites. Right beneath hand of fear(rip Elisabeth sladen) and the doctors wife.

  • Fox Mulder

    August 29th, 2011 - 4:22pm

This Episode was truly the best doctor who episode of series 6 Amazing , I know I often sy Ludendorff thing about Moffat but, my hat goes off to him, fantastic writing.

How many Doctor Who fans does it take to change a lightbulb?

    One million.
One to change the bulb and 999,999 to say that new bulb is far too bright and the bulbs they grew up with were much better.

    • booboo

      August 29th, 2011 - 2:59pm

Actually they never change it, they just sit around for years waiting for it to come back on

    • Fox Mulder

      August 29th, 2011 - 4:29pm

It takes 2 timelords to screw in a lightbulb , One change the bulb and the other Togo back in time and tell him to do it.

    • McGann is the Doctor.

      August 30th, 2011 - 5:28pm

Mel said the last time she regenerated was in new york so melody/river is the girl in the Astronaught suit

    • Iateda

      September 6th, 2011 - 10:30am

They already told us that when they said that river killed the doctor and that the doctor was killed at lake silencio(love the name) in Utah, ‘keep up pond’

  • CG

    August 29th, 2011 - 12:07pm

Well the national newspapers kind of got it right. We did see Rose, Martha and Donna. So Will their comment that the Dalek’s are in the series finale come true as well?

    Time will tell……

    • Intergalactic

      August 29th, 2011 - 1:20pm

Now we didn’t see them. They were just simple holograms.

    • Fox Mulder

      August 29th, 2011 - 4:30pm

It was good reference, but how did he screw up marthas life, she lived happily ever after didn’t she ?

    • YoureSoVain TOMMY

      August 30th, 2011 - 3:13am

i think he thinks he screw her up by making her think that the only way to save the world was to blow the world up… TSE/JE
or as i have see someone say may be her having to live that year of hell on earth that never was U/TSOD/LOTTL…

    • Dark Side of the Moon

      August 30th, 2011 - 9:03am

FM – I think with Martha it may have been the guilt of making her live the year that never was…lets face it, she went through hell and besides the Doctor, the Master and Jack, she is the only one that can remember it.

  • 11th doctor

    August 29th, 2011 - 11:55am

i really did like this episode and what they have done with it, i thought it could include abit more with hitler and it can get confusing with river being melody and melody being river :S

    August 29th, 2011 - 10:28am

To be honest not a lot, I love the 4 lead actors but something just isn’t gelling with me
