What did you Think of Asylum of The Daleks?

What did you Think of Asylum of The Daleks

The first episode of series 7a has finally aired so what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average. Vote below.

Matt Smith returns as the oldest time-traveller in the universe. The Time Lord, Amy and Rory are kidnapped by their oldest foe the Daleks and forced on a seemingly impossible mission – to enter the Asylum, a planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of the deadly aliens’ kind.

From the official site…

Steven Moffat, Head Writer and Executive Producer, thanked fans and the press for keeping the secret:

“I hope you all got a nice surprise when Jenna popped up in Doctor Who several months early. If so, that surprise came to you courtesy of the frankly magnificent ladies and gentlemen of the press, and of the many Doctor Who forums and blogs too. This show has been seen at four separate screenings, across four different countries and yet not one person gave one spoiler. From all of us on Doctor Who, a heartfelt thank you for helping us tell our story.”

Was really enjoying the episode till i looked at the time and saw that there were only 10 minutes left – and, as regularly happens, the ending was rushed and unsatisfactory. I’ll actually be sad to see Amy and Rory leave if we’re going to end up with the irritating JL Coleman…VERY irritating!

Best Doctor who episode for a few years now but it is quite disappointing. I was looking forward to seeing every Dalek ever like promised. They only have a few old ones and they’re hidden and don’t do anything.

i liked the episode but there were some things i did not like

    1. the daleks did not have a very big part
2.clara oswin should of had a smaller part
    3.it was rushed

    every thing else was good

Because the daleks maybe big bad ,all things are normally answered in the finale, the finale is most likely about daleks or the silence or the question,I’m sure it will be solved!we will most likely see the paradigm daleks create a new rce or maybe the time lock is open due to something, maybe why skaro was in it

Personally, I think the Doctor would have been in the Doctor’s room.

Skaro wasn’t destroyed in Remembrance. It was a decoy, and was actually destroyed along with Gallifrey, in the Time War. The book, War of the Daleks, explains this clever plot device perfectly.

A really good episode, spoiled by 3 major flaws:
1: Why introduce a new Dalek paradigm only to bring back the Daleks they replaced? Anyway, all of the Gold Daleks were destroyed.
2: Skaro was destroyed in Remembrance of the Daleks. And that was a part of the cause of the Time War, which was when the Gold Daleks were created.
3: The Daleks would NEVER forget the Doctor. They have only two emotions – hate and fear. And they only have them because they hate and fear the Doctor. It’s not possible they’d forget him.

Anyway, I’m focusing on the negatives! It was a great episode. I really enjoyed it.

who do you think the next doctor will be.

  • SonictheHedgehog

    September 1st, 2012 - 9:17pm

That’s not weird at all. In Dalek, I think he states that his greatest fear IS the Daleks. It’s kind of why I think they missed out on a great opportunity in The God Complex, when we just could have seen a lone Dalek in the Doctor’s room.

  • Dr who

Well it,s all part of moffats big plan,Russell’s was the time war, moffats is the doctor’s name

I think the prime minster dalek is davros, the voice sounded like him at some points bit like remembrance of the daleks.

i doubt the daleks will even be in episdoe 13 let alone explain why the bronze daleks still exsist. Its not like everyone is wondering it, jut people who follow it like me and a lot of people on this site.

Here’s a funny thing, when the doctor was surrounded by Daleks he was frightened, like petrified scared, that’s kind of weird…
