the titles were ok i liked the part with the clocks but the part right at the start reminds me of disney – dunno why ?
the theme music was good !
jenny vastra & strax really need their own spin off show ! strax would be hilarious !
capaldi ! brilliant hes made it into my top 10 doctors already !

August 23rd, 2014 - 10:20pmLoved Capaldi, liked the episode too, beginning to give Clara a better character too (particularly now the whole boyfriend thing’s gone) and a good addition to the Vastra/Strax/Jenny story.
Also loved the tone and themes it set for the series.
Please everyone remember that this episode was more about the new doctor than the monsters (humanised clockwork droids from series two, no less).

story was a bit weak, and it was way too long for that episode
capaldi was good, but his intro was like matts, confused and erratic, and matts ep was better.
some good moments for clara, but the storyline was a bit of a flop.
if they cut out some bits, it would’ve been really action packed.

Good, well written Sci-fi has the ability to , inform , educate & entertain , three cornerstones of the BBC’s original philosophy!
Sadly it achieved none of those things …
3/10 , must do better
However Peter looks very promising & sure can act!

August 23rd, 2014 - 10:04pmSlow start but soon got into it’s stride. Peter Capaldi seems very versatile and quite personable. I think he will make an interesting Dr. Good to see Matt Smith handing the reins over to Peter. Looking forward to seeing how Peter develops the character and can’t wait to see the Daleks and Cybermen.

Peter Capaldi brings, at the end anyway; gravitas.
He is quite like, deliberately, Jon Pertwee although he was stealing from Tom Baker as well (scaff and enthusiasum).
Lots of referendum references. A symptom of the times: the English want to keep UK; but do the Scottish? Nice though… only the most perceptive of international observers will get this.

August 23rd, 2014 - 9:57pmWhat is so wrong about an ‘older’ doctor??? The whole episode was an apology for the doctor being old. Countless references to his grey hair and wrinkles. Capaldi has lived. He has experienced life. All the better to reflect the wisdom of an immortal being. Good luck PC. You’ll need to overcome this cult of youth that pervades TV audiences.

It was a fantastic episode but I felt sorry for the Dinosaur 🙁 also Matt Smith’s Cameo was an amazing, unexpected surprise! I would like to say bravo to Moffat and rate this episode a whopping 100 and so on out of 10! Also, I cannot wait to go into the Dalek next week! 😀
