They’ve redecorated!!! Dr. Who is becoming the
Clara Show. I don’t like it!!!
Wait til they get the Danny Pink character
on board. Then we can have the Ponds
Version 2!!! Oh Boy I can hardly wait!!!

I’m a die hard fan too. And it’s always the same when a new doctor is finding his feet in his first series the clowns will come out to play, but come episode 12 SILENCE WILL FALL and they’ll jump on the bandwagon just as they did with the brilliant matt smith (my doctor). FACT!. Not true fans!

I’ve been watching it since the 1960’s and I’m a bit picky about my Doctors. I think Peter Capaldi will be a good Doctor and I liked this episode which made me laugh out loud in places.

Traditionally Im a big Gatiss fan and have been on here calling for him to be made showrunner instead of Moffat…..BUT….. now, Im not sure.
This was a huge disappointment for me, given the writer. Yes it was funny in parts but overall I thought it was quite shoddy writing / direction / editing. And Ben Miller cast as the Sheriff of Nottingham???
I suspect that I will be in a distinct minority on this but overall this just didnt work for me.

I liked Robots of Sherwood – it was so much fun. And really funny. I don’t care what the reviewers say, its a winner 🙂

Plus, Capaldi looks better with bigger hair

Well. I honestly have no idea what to think of it. If Id been watching an episode of Blackadder or Maid Marion I would have really enjoyed it. But Doctor Who?

Very funny in places but also very bitty.

Love Clara but too much emphasis on her for my liking. There was also never any real sense of threat. Casting Ben Miller as the Sheriff of Nottingham?

One final thing (and I stand ready to be corrected if it was my hearing wrong) but did the Doctor actually use the term “Oh god” on two or three occassions? If so, when has the Doctor ever called upon a deity and especially when in previous episodes he virtually denied any such existance. A bit picky perhaps but still, not great script writing if I heard right.

that maybe a slight possibility but I doubt he’ll be getting a new one because we see him use the same sonic casing as 11th’s in the next time trailer.

I think Thay made reference to 3rd doctor – who did Karate – an unarmed combat style to fight.

deep breaths storyline was weak, but i still enjoyed it for the new doc and clara.

“What’s that in the mirror or the corner of your eye?

What’s that footstep following, never passing by?

Perhaps they’re all just waiting, perhaps when we’re all dead

Out they’ll come a-slithering, from underneath the bed.”

Adz, so be it. My idea of a good episode is obviously different to yours. All I ask is that you look at these episodes with a mind as open as it can possibly be and see if you can enjoy them yourself. 🙂

adz in your eyes what was the last serious doctor who episode

  • Adz

    September 6th, 2014 - 9:43pm

Temporal Jelly Baby – compared to previous Darlek encounters, would you not expect to be filled with dread and fear? Would you not wounded if and how the doctor is going to survive? None of that was apparent in this episode. It was a joke. Good effects ok I’ll give it that, but nothing more. I was so bored.

  • The Temporal Jelly Baby

    September 6th, 2014 - 9:42pm

Personally, I don’t mind light-hearted episodes at all. It would be a bit boring if every episode’s dark…

  • The Temporal Jelly Baby

    September 6th, 2014 - 9:39pm

Adz, please tell me how Into the Dalek was not a serious episode. A lone rebel ship surrounded by Daleks…you can’t seriously say that Into the Dalek wasn’t a serious episode! It’s similar to certain classics – humans in space fighting battles. 🙂

No way was last weeks episode serious. God I would have laughed from start to finish if it wast so poorly written. Nothing serious here so far.

This looks like a slightly scary episode. Moffat’s best episode is a scary one (Blink) and Moffat has written Listen, so I have high hopes.

I don’t know what’s wrong with everyone but I think that the guys and gals against ‘charlie’ are being unfair to the series. Just because it’s not YOUR cup of tea it doesn’t mean that EVERYONE hates it. I’m standing alongside you charlie. Although this episode wasn’t the best of Capaldi, I enjoyed it all the same. If the rest of you have nothing NICE to say, don’t say anything! That’s an easy enough rule to go by!

Did anyone see the doctor get his sonic screwdriver back because after taken by the sheriff, I don’t remember see him pick it up, so does that mean it’s blown up

  • Adz

    September 6th, 2014 - 9:31pm

We’ll I really would like to think that this one will be as dark as every one makes out. Would like a “Serious” episode rather than the comedies we have had to endure.
