What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

There’s something very odd about Mrs Gillyflower’s Sweetville mill, with its perfectly clean streets and beautiful people.

There’s something even stranger about the bodies washing up in the river, all bright red and waxy. When the Doctor and Clara go missing, it’s up to Vastra, Jenny and Strax to rescue them before they too fall victim to the Crimson Horror!”

Now that the 6th episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

I think the Doctor got a bit “excited” when Jenny stripped and started fighting judging by the sound effects and his sonic.

has to be my second favourite so far!

    cold war – 1st
    the crimson horror – 2nd
journey to the centre of the tardis – 3rd

these are my top 3 favourites.
    nightmare in silver looks promising.

another excellent job by mark gatiss. I hope we see more eps written by him. cant wait till he returns in sherlok aswell!

Fab eppisode, Vastra, Jenny & Strax are sooooo much better than Rory & Amy, would love to see more of them.

A town called Pontefract was mentioned in The Crimson Horror and i live right next door to it, if only they actually filmed there 🙂

NOOOOOOO! They just needed ONE MORE EPISODE before the 50th to make the 50th special the 800th episode 🙁

I think they are on-board so they have a reason to go to the fairground next episode, not to be full time companions or to appeal to children, how does no one see that? Obviously something will happen to them before the name of the doctor, or if not the doctor takes them back because it’s “too dangerous”. Plus the Doctor has his “no kids on the tardis” rule, so that will be interesting!

The parallel earth cybermen were in the trailer.

Best episode of the series so far. Well done Mark Gatiss. Mrs Gillyflower and Ava were brilliant characters.
Agree with what others are saying, The Paternoster Gang really deserve there own spin off series.

It was funny, but aside from Mrs. Gillyflower and Ada, who were great, the supporting cast did nothing for me. Also, the idea of the Doctor and Clara being already captured kind of spoiled the hope for an episode revolving around Strax, Jenny, and Vastra. The ending was absolutely hilarious, definately the best part! 6/10

If you are referring to the parallel Earth cybermen’s catchphrase ‘delete’ i doubt they will be deleted. Considering next weeks episode re-introduces the mondasian cybermen, but redesigned. They never had any of this ‘delete’ rubbish. It was ‘You will be destroyed!’ or they just simply killed without saying anything.

Guys, guys, guys !!!!!!! be grateful those 2 kids are not like that annoying Kelsy [or whatever her name was], the chave from the pilot episode of ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’ who sald rubbish like “You are well shaming me” as if she thought she was seriously cool and important.

Very much enjoyed the episode. Would have been nice if the TV announcer acknowledged that this is the 100th episode of the new series since 2005 for viewers who where probably unaware of it apart from us fan’s.

Can’t believe Strax killed Misses Peel from the Avengers, damn that psychotic Potato Dwarf !! 🙁

Shocking ending thou seeing those 2 kids discovering pictures of Clara in 1973, 1983 . . . . and the Victorian Clara !! 😀

The Kandyman could be a giant jelly baby.

  • Team TARDIS

    May 4th, 2013 - 9:12pm

Me and my brother loved this episode, everything in it was great! However the only thing that spoilt it was the preview of next weeks episode, we don’t like the addition of these new annoying children. I just think they’re trying to make Doctor Who appeal to all the ages by bringing in younger (unnecessary) characters. (fingers crossed they get deleted…)

Run you clever boy and remember, depends what you mean by “first”. I see you commented before me, but I thought it would be a good idea about 10 mins into the episode 🙂 nah its ok mate, besides, loads of people have had the idea months before both of use 😀

Maybe The paternoster Gang could be the new SJA, and River and Jack could be the new Torchwood!

There’s a reason for the Children, SFX have released some teasers for next episode and it says “A big secret is hiding in plain sight. One of the kids works it out. Can you?”

completely agree with you, found it has been becoming a little bit childish, and sarah jane adventures type, dont want them there, but i do like the look of the cybermen next time, and that little orange parasite made me a bit sick

Liked this episode a great deal, helped by some fabulous acting from all the cast. Did anyone else’s heart sink a bit when next weeks episode has annoying children travelling in the Tardis. Maybe they will be ‘deleted’ early on. I can hope 😉

Kandyman back in new who would be amazing. I think he’d have to look a bit different though

  • The Silence

    And 796th episode overall!
