What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

What Did You Think of The Crimson Horror?

There’s something very odd about Mrs Gillyflower’s Sweetville mill, with its perfectly clean streets and beautiful people.

There’s something even stranger about the bodies washing up in the river, all bright red and waxy. When the Doctor and Clara go missing, it’s up to Vastra, Jenny and Strax to rescue them before they too fall victim to the Crimson Horror!”

Now that the 6th episode of series 7b has aired in the UK what did you think?, was it the best episode ever or just average.

    NO, NO, NOOOOO
Don’t bring kids into the TARDIS. This will kill the series. If I want to see that I’ll watch The Sara Janes Adventures.

Crimson Horror, a really good episode.
Odd series with every second episode being really good and then some really bad ones like “Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS” which must be one of the worst ones ever.
This series has brought us some of the best episodes ever as “The Snowmen”, “Hide” and “The Crimson Horror” but the next one ought to be awful with the kids getting on the journey.

And Clara… She must be the best companion ever. So clever and beautiful, I love her to bits(Sorry Rose). Outsmarts the Doctor (who needs a replacement soon, Please find an actor with David Tennants talent)

I thought Victory of the Daleks was great. Also, there was an Optimus Prime in George’s bedroom in Night Terrors.

G1 GALVATRON? What are you doing in Doctor Who?
I guess thats as close as it is ever going to get to my 8-year-old self’s dream of a Dr Who/Transformers crossover, but I’m satisfied by that cameo appearance of the Decepticon leader.
As always, Mark Gatiss has created a true masterpiece of a Dr Who episode (not sure if I’m counting VOTD in that)and another great addition to a great series (if I can forget about Rings of Akhaten!).
Can’t wait until the next episode! New Cybermen look so cool!

Best episode of the second half of this series, but easily mark gatiss’ best after the unquiet dead. I wish all the episodes had this sort of consistency. One question though- Does the doctor bitch about his former companions to current companions or did he really think that much of tegan he starts using his catchphrase ‘brave heart’ to clara. Can,t think much of tegan.

The thing that put put me off the cbus industries cybermen was that hydraulic clumping noise everytime they moved.

Clara is the best companion the show’s had in a long while. Best since Donna, or Martha even IMO. Better than Amelia and Rose, that’s for sure.

good point….cybus were not alien like mondasian cybermen. They are not part of classic dr who, they are human new who monsters. They have little history, they are new.

Good apart from when the alien was on her, that was just so weird and wrong.

Oh yeah I guess that’s true, and fair enough to the Cybermen comment. We were just very frustrated as we felt it kind of killed our buzz after watching ‘The Crimson Horror’ and we’d been so looking forward to the Cybermens’ return but were afraid the attention might be taken away from the Cybermen!

Children blackmail Clara for a spin in the Tardis?

Time to get out the Torchwood pills methinks!

If you think about it it was a bit weird how one of the crew was carrying a camera with them! And shouldn’t Clara be a cit more shocked when she saw her Victorian counterpart? Anyhow, it was a great episode, the characters were amazing, I felt so much sympathy for ada, and the plot was fantastic! I squirmed a bit when Ada smashed Mr. Sweet, I was surprised to see that the ‘monster’ was the Doctor, and I fell on the floor laughing when that man fainted the third time when the TARDIS dematerialised! I give it a 9/10

Like ‘Victory of the Daleks’, the 2006 design is giving way to a new modern take on the Cybermen for a 2nd time in the history of the new series, cos the 2006 one is now regarded as being no longer scary, and many of us are finding them to be boring with the stomping around and saying “Delete” all the time, which was fun at first back in 2006, but has become boring over time.

Plus the fact the Cybus logo got replaced on them in ‘The Wedding of River Song’ may have caused some confusion as to wither they are still the Cybus ones with a new seal on their chests or if they are our Mondasian Cybermen, which I’d rather regard that they are not as the parallel Cybermen are primitive compared to those of our universe.

I love the idea of Strax and Vastra, and I know this is episode was all supposed to be in a humourous spirit, but Strax was just so utterly painful to watch due to his stupid jokes, it was just cringe worthy. And I can’t help feeling embarrassed to be a fan with this sort of silliness. Ad

Get rid of the kids. Next thing we know it’ll be on the cbbc rather than bbc 1. I realise its a family show but that doesnt mean we have to pander to them. Doctor Who has never panded to kids, respected yes, but never panded. Also to have the kids blackmailing Clara means that they should be sacked off regardless. Ive said it before and I’ll say it again – I’m getting old!!

Tegan was an Austrailian, not American.

And what does everyone have angainst the Cybus Cybermen, there still Cybermen, they’re exactly the same, just from a different universe.

I enjoyed that, why are people hating? The whole idea of vastra and jenny just accepting that clara is alive, or being another her… also i heard about the teaser stuff that SFX released and i think that the kids realise that this “commander clara” is infact another clara and the kids realise when they ask her a personal question
