What Would You Like For The 50th Anniversary

What Would You Like To See For The 50th Anniversary

With the days and months ticking away to the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who what would you like to see happen to celebrate this momentous occasion.

A multi Doctor Story? Past Doctors and Companions playing other parts? anything as long as it involves Paul McGann or Doctor Who street parties perhaps?

No way. Fan-fiction crossovers can be great. As soon as you get into official canon crossovers…it would be horrific.

I like the titles idea. But having all the enemies would be massive overkill and would probably end up being really bad.

I’d be surprised if they didn’t do a confidential special for the 50th Anniversary.

I’d like them to air the first episode at exactly the same time it was 50 years earlier on BBC One. But I doubt they would.

sounds good, as long as the new daleks are wiped out at the end, allowing the awesome bronze daleks to be the bosses again.

i just thought that the storyline, (if there was one) was terrible. it was basically, save the trees! no bad monsters, no bad aliens, moffat is just copying other stories to make the christmas eps look more appealing! oh look son that will be interesting! it’s like narnia! No! it’s not! its Doctor Who! you may not reply as this ios quite an old, but i hope you do!

the newest daleks have been massed produced and given new even more powerful weaponry that can shatter the tardis thanks to the “suicide dalek” in episode six that actually created a temporal shift to make the time lock be opened andall the timelords free to destroy the universe like the daleks wanted and he goes on the fields of trenzalor and speaks his name to o and make the time war timelocked and the universe saved by the power of it although it kills the 11th and the 12th comes and the tardis changes and become more advanced while hiddenly watching, the silence fakes there own death making the doctor belive that he fulfilled the prophecy and going back to earth

the doctor gathers an alliance across centuries and dimensions for a battle against the eleventh[fall of the eleventh,a time lord order who lead the silence.he marches to the trnzalore fields,a void of dimensions where the hand of omega is trapped .the eleventh are followers of some ancient time lord god.the eleventh need to stop the question being answered or it will bring the fall of the god who the eleventh worship, the god is omega and the doctor’s name will do something to the hand of omega destroying the return of omega and will bring the fall of the eleventh, the top leaders of the silence but it will see the fall of the eleventh doctor as well.

My preferences for celebrating the Anniversay would be as follows:

    1) a week of five adventures in which the 11th Doctor has unplanned encounters with some of his past selves i.e. 1 story for each past dr 4th – 5th – 6th – 7th – 8th where the past doctors are subjected to an alien probes evil ray, causing the doctors to age prematurely. The Doctor has to find clues to track down where the alien probe originates from finding 1 new clue after each past doctor encounter. These lead into a bigger multi doctor adventure shown on the Saturday at the end of that week in which the past doctors 4-8 have small roles in the final sequences and sees them returned to their times and true age appearances restored, which stars dr 11 and features dr 10, river song, Captain Jack, the bannermen road crew now much older as adults where Sarah Jane’s Funeral is featured & the Dr visits to collect K9 from Luke Smith and would include an enemy that turns out to be a timelord that escaped Gallifrey at the time the timelock was applied and whom habours a grudge against The Doctor. The final sequence seeing drs 4,5,6,7,8,10 and 11 defeat the enemy allowing the 11th to send past doctors back to their correct places in time fully restored.

    2) a mini series of 4-5 episodes of 8th Doctor adventures the last of which sees his regeneration into 9th (played by a body double for Eccleston and a salford regional voiceover to emulate ecclestons voice with a brief bit of dialogue to make it as close to the real eccleston’s portrayal as possible.

what would you say makes a scary, thrilling doctor who story?

    June 14th, 2012 - 10:36am

i would be very upset if they made a dw musical, they should keep doctor who just the way it is.
but they should start bringing back multi part stories that last 3-6 weeks like they used to.
remember the daleks masterplan, this story had 12 parts.

    DOCTOR WHO: THE MUSICAL!

  • ParadigmDalek

    June 14th, 2012 - 5:38am

That is the best idea I’ve heard! Although, it should be the 7th, after “Remembrance of the Daleks”, because William Hartnell is sadly no longer with us…

  • ParadigmDalek

    June 14th, 2012 - 5:36am

Good idea! As long as it features the Daleks, cause Doctor Who would NOT be Doctor Who without the Daleks. Period. You can’t beat the Daleks.
“WE ARE EN-TOMBED, BUT WE LIVE ON! THIS IS ON-LY THE BE-GIN-NING! WE WILL RE-PAIR! WE WILL GROW STRON-GER! WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT, WE WILL E-MERGE, AND TAKE OUR RIGHT-FUL PLACE, AS THE SU-PREME POW-ER OF THE U-NI-VEEEERRRSE!”-Genesis of the Daleks

  • ParadigmDalek

    June 14th, 2012 - 5:27am

Agreed. Series 5 was mostly really good, but Series 6 was awful and there were only a few episodes I enjoyed. Maybe if they had Nicholas Briggs help him out, at least with Dalek and Cyberman episodes.

  • ParadigmDalek

    June 14th, 2012 - 5:23am

    Also:
    return of Ian or Susan
Daleks and Cybermen at war with eachother again
    return of Jenny
the episode to be written by Steven Moffat and Terrance Dicks
Tell me what you think 😉

It may not be just the Ice Warrios retuning because on the 7 series trailer(which has only came out in america)there is a clip with 2 big robots standing next to an other classic enemy(who i forgot the name of) which is descibed as an egypsian man who first appered whith Tom Baker. Eneyway the 2 robots mite be ither The Yeteys or the robot mummys which also was in the episode with the egypsian man.

  • The 14th Doctor

    June 13th, 2012 - 5:15pm

First episode needs to go on, at least, but I hope they’ll do even more than that.

  • JackM

    June 13th, 2012 - 5:06pm

I would like there to be an animation of some of the classic episodes that wore wiped and not to be shown on tv ever agian because i know they have made animations of dr who before and i know they still have the voice recordings.

    Black n’ white episode.

  • the TARDIS

    June 13th, 2012 - 4:27pm

I know, that’s why I want an anniversary one. They should get interviews with loads of classic series actors. Either that or a sort of “50 years in the TARDIS”.

  • the TARDIS

    June 13th, 2012 - 4:24pm

Thrilled as I am to see the return of the Ice Warriors (ther are some of my favourite monsters) I really hope that they don’t do to the design what they did to the Silurians. The design turned iconic monsters into… not the same thing.

This has not come from Mark Gatiss.

I have no doubt there may be some truth in it but nothing about it is official

A source told the Daily Star newspaper of the episode, which will be written by Mark Gatiss: ”’Who’ fans have been crying out for the return of the Ice Warriors. Now they’ve got their wish. It’s going to be an exciting year with the 50th anniversary celebrations.”

  • The 14th Doctor

    June 13th, 2012 - 10:20am

Well, it’s Mark Gatiss who made the claim, so I doubt it’s false, even if it isn’t official

official confirmation comes from BBC press releases or BBC pictures
