July 30th, 2011 - 2:26pmIf you read that article in DWM, you will know that people are chosing to Time-shift in their viewings of Dr Who.
People who want 2 see it, but couldn’t make it, will have recorded on BBC HD, or used Iplayer.etc.

I myself didn’t see it on BBC 1, I watched both of the opening episodes on BBC HD on my sky planner. Just shows that 5.5 is only a minority of the total viewing audience. 😀

June 6th, 2011 - 12:47ami do not see the point about the overnight ratings figures, personally after all the iplayer & other viewing figures are combined together we will have a true total.
5.5 million in my opinion is not that bad if you consider the zombie drivel on ITV1!

June 5th, 2011 - 8:06pmThey will be but it needs to be the final figures not these overnights. Overnights have been meaningless this year and even moreso on a night when its up against Football and another Simon Cowell IQ-drainer

June 5th, 2011 - 6:17pmThe ratings should have been much higher than that, surely!

June 5th, 2011 - 5:40pmyeah i know surely the bbc would have been wise to change the time schedule but then it was the so you think you can dance final as well so it was the only possible slot

June 5th, 2011 - 5:33pmwe are on holiday with limited access to the internet so all comments (that’s everyone’s,not just certain posters) , in the news and the merchandise are on moderation only so we can check them before posting. normally we see them straight away so if there is a problem or inappropriate comments we can deal with it immediately but at the moment there may be several hours between us being able to see them, this isn’t permanent its just while we are away.

McGann is The Doctor.
June 5th, 2011 - 4:17pmDo people actually watch the episodes on
BBC HD? I do! Every one of them gets recorded on the sky planner, anyone else do the same?!
And regardless of the actual LIVE viewings, the episode was a great delight to watch and THEY recorded it while the football and talent shows were on.

June 5th, 2011 - 4:10pmThat’s a great audience appreciation. I couldnt care less what the “general public” might have to say, Dr Who in 2011 is a massive commercial success 😀 and has drawn in alot of acclaim and impressed viewers, just read the SFX magazine special for Dr Who.
Viewers like us exist all over the UK, so it’s imposssible that Dr Who isnt being watched.
It just doesnt make any sense. ❓

June 5th, 2011 - 1:36pmThis one is going to have a massively time shifted audience. Like it or not Football and Reality TV pulls in high viewing figures and so a start point of 5.5 million on overnights was far better than I had expected. In an ideal world Simon Cowell would be put inside the Pandorica and buried for the rest of eternity.
who crazy!
June 5th, 2011 - 1:06pm5.5! Now come on I thought this episode would have good viewings. Oh well.
harold saxon
June 5th, 2011 - 12:56pmTheese will increase vastly in the final shift ,as with bgt final and it being a warm summer saturday ,overall this series is achieving very strong viewing figures.
Love moffats clever writing.
Do not think we should knock RTD for without him we may not have had dr.who at all now!

June 5th, 2011 - 11:59amthey should have put Dr Who on at another time so it did’nt full in with other programs at the same time. I thought it was one off the best so far up with The first 2 stories
