Doctor Who Spring Special – Legend of the Sea Devils

The Doctor, Yaz and Dan face a familiar foe in Legend of the Sea Devils – coming this Spring.

A first look at Doctor Who’s Spring special has revealed the long-awaited return of the Sea Devils, a classic monster first seen with the Third Doctor in The Sea Devils.

Get ready for Legend of the Sea Devils, the next special coming in Spring 2022.

Legend of the Sea Devils finds the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan (John Bishop) in 19th century China, where a small coastal village is under threat – from both the fearsome pirate queen Madame Ching (Crystal Yu) and a monstrous alien force which she unwittingly unleashes. Will the Doctor, Yaz and Dan emerge from this swashbuckling battle with the Sea Devils to save the planet?

Funny that after completely revamping the Silurians to make them look more human, they choose to leave the Sea Devils alone.

Looking forward to the “legend of the Sea Devils” and the story that comes after this, as there Jodie’s Final story’s. I for one will miss her but at least I have the Big Chief version of Jodie to remember her by.

If their is a Myrka in this Episode Popplewick, I should imagine it will be an updated version as the original effects were quite poor.

This is exciting! Doctor Who hasn’t taken place in the east Asian countries nearly enough! And I love the return of such a classic species! However, I do feel that the show’s quality has dipped recently. It kind of makes me nervous about how this episode will go. I await it optimistically though!

Since this episode looks to have a somewhat Oriental feel to it. It would be good to have some of those Sea Devils included with the Samurai outfits. (Fingers crossed)

I,d like one of the older factions of Silurians to return when Russell T Davies takes back over. I was a little disappointed with the makeover. I actually thought what were maskplates were the actual faces in the original trailer.

The Silurians were supposed to look different though, completely different tribe. As the modern update of the original design it’s not the same but as a design in and of themselves, they look absolutely amazing

At least the Sea Devils look better updated than the Silurians in 2010.
