What can he tell us about the still-being-filmed new season of the British science fiction show (which premieres on BBC America this fall)? And how did he find working with Who guest star Maisie Williams, of Game of Thrones fame?
The Scottish actor took some precious time out of his schedule to exclusively answer our queries.

September 6th, 2015 - 12:13amThe Magician’s Apprentice photo is not a world war backdrop! If you have read everything on it and seen all the trailers. You will know that it’s Skaro planet of the Daleks, and the TARDIS lands in a middle of a battle there

September 6th, 2015 - 12:09amDeep Breath is not a double length episode at all, it was never intended to be one either! It’s just a stand-alone feature length one-off episode to open the series . That’s what the BBC call it and everything in print says so. The BBC make it and make all the decisions so they should know not us. Besides how on earth can it be a double length episode when it’s not even double the length??? It’s on 73 minutes long. To be a double length episode it needs to be 90 minutes long, as they are 45 minutes normally. They reduced the each series from last year to 12 episodes, due to funding and budget cuts. So there’s no point complaining when they can’t help it

July 10th, 2015 - 8:50pmMy point exactly. Are there any extended length episodes in series NINE?
DOCTOR WHO TWO
July 5th, 2015 - 8:53pmYes, but Deep Breath and Death in Heaven were extended which more than made up for the loss of an episode last year.

July 4th, 2015 - 10:20amDeep breath was a double length episode therefore series 8 was the equivalent of 13 episodes. If series 9 is all “tv hour” length (40 odd minutes) the equivalent of an episode is lost. Not earth shattering, but annoying. Still, I haven’t heard yet if, for instance, the magician’s apprentice is a longer one.
DOCTOR WHO ONE
July 4th, 2015 - 7:28amLast years finale was also episodes 11 and 12 of series 8, there was no 13th episode last year, so it’s not a big deal really 🙂

July 3rd, 2015 - 9:11pmBBC website says episodes 11 & 12 are this year’s finale. What?! Are there any double length episodes (like deep breath) or are we celebrating the tenth year of new who by losing 40 odd minutes of airtime? Outrageous if true & nearly as bad as series 7 being split over two years.
Doyouhearthem?
