Hermione Norris to Guest Star in New Series

From the official site

Hermione Norris to guest star in Doctor Who opposite Peter Capaldi when Doctor Who returns this Autumn.

Speaking about her casting, Hermione Norris said, ‘It’s exciting to be part of such an iconic show, and one that my kids can watch!!!’

Norris has recently been starring in The Crimson Field on BBC One, and is no stranger to solving mysteries having played Ros Myers in the BAFTA award-winning drama Spooks. Prior to that she starred in comedy-drama Cold Feet.

Steven Moffat, lead writer and Executive Producer, said, ‘It’s a testament to the quality of Peter Harness’s intense and emotional script, that we’ve been able to attract an actress of the brilliance of Hermione Norris. And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote. The Doctor is returning to the scene of an old adventure – but there have been sinister changes since his last visit.’

The episode is written by Peter Harness (Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell, Wallander), produced by Peter Bennett and directed by Paul Wilmshurst (Strike Back, Combat Kids). The episode also stars Ellis George, Tony Osoba and Phil Nice.

Other guest stars confirmed to join Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman in the new series, which will TX on BBC One later this year, include Ben Miller, Tom Riley and Keeley Hawes.

No the troops were from Androzani. So Androzani was only featured in “The Caves of Androzani” If i’m wrong.. Well I hate TDTWATW so can’t be bothered to watch it.

You know it says the Dr will return to a scene of an old adventure but there have been sinister changes since his last visit

Well this old adventure will probably be ” the planet of fire”

Now since there have been sinister changes they could call this episode ” planet of ashes “

It actual says they are returning to Lanzarote above, nothing to do with the Sun

And for the first time since 1984, the Doctor Who production team is heading to Lanzarote.

Not every Whovian would know that, cos many new series fan’s either have not discovered enough of the classic series or just don’t bother with watching any of the classic series all together.

It’s a bit of a fact in the old Who-niverse that some Doctor Who fan’s who started watching Doctor Who by viewing the new series episodes never bother to check out the shows glorious past in the classic series.

To tell you the truth, any new series fan of Doctor Who who has never watched any classic series Doctor Who is not a true Doctor Who fan in my book.

Doctor Who was last filmed in Lanzarote in the 1984 story ‘Planet of Fire’.

    May 12th, 2014 - 3:28pm

According to the Sun newspaper, an upcoming episode is going to be filmed in Lanzarote.

The last time Doctor Who was filmed in Lanzarote was 1984 adventure ‘Planet of Fire’ which saw Peri saved from drowning by Turlough before he leaves the Doctor at the end of that story.
